I along with my friend Rajinderpal Singh Lehal who had made a booking in his name and my family stayed at this hotel on 3/7/17. As it was the independence day eve the entire town and the hotel wore a festive look. This is an old hotel yet it is well maintained. The plus points are that it is within walking distance from the falls, goat island ,casino and all other attractions. The hotel has free WiFi for its customers. The lobby as well as the room in which we stayed had free tea kits. There is also a swimming pool in the hotel.Three small irritants ,one the luggage trolleys make a lot of creaking noise and the second the mouse on the computers in the lobby was not in working order, third there is no signs outside the lifts so it is a suspense if the lift you pressed for is actually going to come..The staff was courteous and helpful.I liked the hotel all in all Collapse

Stayed here one night and really didn't spend much time in he room. I will tell you that the staff was nice - allowed us a 1 hour later checkout. The rooms, hallways, and doors are dark and dreary. I suggest painting a lighter color to make it feel more roomy and inviting (like the lobby which was nice). Reminded me of walking into a funeral home. Tony Roma restaurant is attached and serves breakfast buffet. Short walk to the falls. Would stay here again. Collapse
Nice because of the location

This is a nice hotel based on the location. We walked everywhere from here. Our room was alright. Nothing fancy. The kids thought the pool was ok. They wished there was a hot tub. There was no free breakfast either which we already knew but stinks for a big family. They also charge an extra 10 dollars to park there even if you are staying at the hotel. A nice hustle. Collapse

Let me be very upfront about this review: we are IHG gold elite members and booked this location for one night with our anniversary reward for our IHG credit card. I was pleased when I went to check us in because our name was on the "welcome" sign. That made me feel like we were going to be treated as valued guests, despite the fact we were not paying for our room. Check in was fast and efficient, but no mention was made of our Gold Elite status, which is not the norm at an IHG hotel. However, not that big of a deal. We were offered our choice of a complimentary beverage or points. I chose the points and they were credited within 24 hrs as promised. We booked a room with two queen beds. At check-in, we were asked if we would prefer a King room instead. I indicated that would be acceptable if they had a rollaway available. The agent said he did, so we accepted. He did let us know in advance the room would not have a view and was on the main floor of the hotel. That was not a problem. After all, we were there for one night, not paying for our room, and planned to spend little time in it except to get a good night's rest before our activity-laden day the following day. We were very impressed with the public areas of this hotel. They were immaculately clean and in good repair. It was nice to have the loyalty club on the same floor as our room. The beverage selections are always helpful in saving money when traveling with teens. Usually there are some snacks available also, but, since we were only there one weekend night, it was not a big deal and might be different on a weekday. It is always nice to be able to get freshly made coffee or bottled water any time of day or night when you want it. We intended to use the pool, but did not have a chance to do so because of the unfortunate events with the rollaway that I am about to share. After dining at the adjoining restaurant, since we were tired and did not want to fight the considerable traffic in this area, we returned to our room to get ready to swim for a while. I noticed the rollaway had not yet been delivered. (This was about 2.5 hrs after check in which surprised me because we saw someone going down our hallway toward room with a rollaway when we left for dinner.) I called the front desk and was told they would send a rollaway right down. Within an acceptable amount of time, the rollaway arrived, we unfolded it and went to make up the bed for my daughter. My daughter is 16 but does not weigh even 100 lbs. The mattress they brought us with the rollaway was not even suitable for a child of 5 or 6. If you placed your hand on the mattress you could feel springs poking you without even pressing down at all. I thought they only brought us the foundation part and no mattress, so I called down to the front desk and explained the situation. I also told the girl who answered the phone that we had not been given any sheets, blanket, or pillow for the rollaway. She initially told me that the rollaway mattress was just one piece and that if I had a mattress at all that is what a rollaway was. Now, we stayed at a hotel on our drive out and also used a rollaway. It was a super budget hotel because that was all that was at the exit when we were ready to stop for the night. THAT rollaway looked like a luxury bed compared to this mattress! I asked for someone to come down and look at the mattress and to also bring linens. In about 10 minutes, a young man showed up to look at the bed. I showed him the rollaway and he said, "Yep, that is our mattress." from the doorway. I insisted he come in, my husband was also in the room, and feel the mattress so he could feel the springs. He felt the mattress and said, "Oh, I see what you mean. I will bring you another rollaway." He left, but returned less than 5 min later with a woman and told me that they had no other rollaways available. At that time, we were handed ONE SHEET. Just one sheet - no blanket, no pillow, no second sheet. No offer was made to change rooms for us or anything. I asked him how we were supposed to have a teenager sleep on a mattress in this condition. He offered a mattress pad. Okay, first of all, your rollaways should have a mattress pad anyway. Secondly, one mattress pad was not going to fix the situation. At that point, I had now spent almost an hour dealing with this and we were no closer to having a comfortable bed for my daughter than at the beginning. Clearly the hotel was not going to offer another room and it was getting later by the minute. We ended up accepting a mattress pad, placing our folded up over-sized beach towels on the crappy rollaway mattress and then covering the towels with the mattress pad. She was able to sleep on the bed, if not comfortably, for most of the night. (When I woke in the middle of the night, she was sitting in the chair trying to sleep because her back hurt, so I told her to get into bed with us.) I honestly wish I had taken a photo of the mattress so corporate could see it. I know this is a high usage location, but bedding should be replaced as needed. It also should be mentioned that the outlet bar on the side of the desk/work area did not work. Therefore, that meant there were 4 less outlets in the room for guests. In short, free night or not, if you offer rollaways, they should be suitable for someone up to 100 lbs to sleep on comfortably. When you over book your rollaways and have to use one (which by the way looked considerably different than the one we saw in the hallway earlier than night) that must have been put aside to be disposed of, you should always give the guest the option to switch to a double bedded room. As IHG gold elite members we were severely disappointed in this hotel because of the bedding situation. I expect better. When you reward a member for loyalty, there should be no difference in level of service or quality of accommodations received than if they were paying for their room. Even at check out when I mentioned the rollaway situation again as well as the power bar on the desk, nothing was said, not even an apology. Collapse
