We booked this as it looked close to the airport and it had a shuttle (about 10 miles). We arrived after an international flight to find that the shuttle did not work on Sunday. 40 euros cab ride that seemed to take us round the houses to add mileage for the short ride. Reception welcome was poor. We realized arriving there that we had booked using "points" but realized we should have put it on the business account visa and there was no way to change the reservation without loosing the points said the receptionist. We asked about the Monday shuttle back to the airport and was told it was fully booked. In AM we came down and the not full shuttle was leaving - no way to get onto it for some unexplained reason. Called a cab even though we were assured there would be many waiting and it cost 30 euros to go back to airport. There was no food available on the Sunday evening - restaurant closed (not noted on web-site). Rooms were fine. Poor internet. Did not even bother with breakfast which looked poor. Would not recommend this hotel for any reason. Collapse

Reception check in was swift and you get to pick a smoking or non smoking room. My single room actually had an anteroom with 2 further single beds in and an ensuite with two showers, so no complaints about space. It was clean and had tea/coffee facilities and a working safe and toiletries etc etc. Thankfully the air con was great. So far so good. The wifi signal appears on your phone but in practice didnt work. The desk has one plug set about 4 foot away on the floor so isnt conducive to working. There are a couple of bars within a few hundred yards that are obviously there for the locals and were not especially welcoming to visitors. When we returned at 11pm to the hotel bar a grumpy member of staff simply shouted from a distance "Shut". Oh well. Breakfast was good, though the staff not exactly smiley and friendly. Check out was swift and when you want a taxi you are given a slip with a number on which the arriving drivers seem to ignore and take the journeys they want. Overall i guess the place is OK for a low cost hotel but could be so much better if the staff were more engaged. I will probably stay again based on the location but will actively look for alternatives. Collapse

Me and 4 other colleagues went to this Hotel for business trip. Almost one month we stayed there and it happens lot's of strange things. I will mention some of them. The wifi was really Bad, almost everyday we need to ask to reception why, we were having problems and the only solution was to restart the router. This was critical since we were Working, and neither with Ethernet cable the connection were that much stable. Well but to be honest I'm just righting this post because of the service, there were only one employee from all their staff that was really professional and nice to us all the other kind of pass by from saying for example Good Morning, and so on so on.. Well this was not a good experience, and neither an experience to repeat. Thank you Collapse
Bad staff that wont help. Bad WIFI, Bad restaurant.

5 people business trip of 2 months splited in 2 trips. On the first month we stayed in this hotel but for the reasons below we changed to another hotel for the second part. The compliments and complaints below are not individual but from the group since all of us experienced the events here. Altought some staff members are very friendly (in particular our compliments for the portuguese/brazilian speaking waiter ) on the overall we weren't happy with the staff. Some other complaints are: * Breakfast table bad cleaning and "glueing"/greasy. * Wi-Fi is not good. First week had very bad signal. After some complaints and some router restarts it improved but its still quite poor for working purposes. Especially noticeable if you need to make a conference call with VIDEO. IF YOU NEED IT TO WORK LIKE WE DO BE PREPARED FOR THIS. * Room service cleans everyday but towels and bed sheets are not exchanged everyday. Furthermore it is poor cleaned. For example a colleague used a glass to drink a Cola and he noticed the next day a brownish color still in the glass. * Several miss-information and unorganized staff. * * Charging a restaurant SERVICE fee (which makes no sense) in the restaurant 2 of 5 times. When we asked about why this was charged only some of the times apparently it should have been charged always but they forgot it, etc. * Another story: At 09AM the maid knocked on a colleagues room and told she needed to take the laundry. He replied that he was in shower and couldn't open the door at the moment. 10 minutes later the colleague receive a call in very bad English mandating that he should take the laundry down by himself because the laundry staff was waiting. * They dont read/pick the cards hanging outside the room door. * Maids and room laundry pickup also take the liberty of entering your room without the your consent (they noc 1,2 times, no answer and go in, even if you are in shower, bathroom, etc.). THIA IS IMPORTANT: !!!!!!!!BE SURE TO LOCK YOUR DOOR!!! EVEN IF YOU HANG THE DONT DISTURB SIGN THE CLEANING LADY WILL ENTER YOUR ROOM WITHOUT PERMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!! * Somebody ordered breakfast in the room and the tray was left on the corridor for all day and night before somebody picked it. * The laundry service lost a sock. When asked about it, they tried to reach the laundry but didnt find any socks... Obviously hotel takes no responsibility. * Restaurant food is more 2* hotel. Year's ago in university we ate sometimes warmed-up lasagna and pizzas from Carrefour/Mercadona, etc. It was cheap (1,2€) and fast. But I dont expect to have the same in a 4* Hotel and for 5x more the price. Same for salads and sandwichs. Had dinner there twice, never again. * * Furthermore: We were told there was no meals on weekend because kitchen is closed. HOWEVER on a Sunday I was working downstairs on my laptop AND THE WAITER SERVED LUNCH FOR A ENGLISH SPEAKING GUEST (SO IT SEEMS KITCHEN WAS CLOSED ONLY FOR PORTUGUESE people). The worst is (again) obviously the staff: I have stayed in lower star hotels with poorer conditions and only 1 STAR but staff were eager to listen and help the guest to have the best experience possible. In this Holliday Inn it was the entire way around: Staff would laugh back, not answering straight even when spoken in English or fluent Spanish. So in short, we are back in Las Tablas but this time staying on another hotel. Collapse

Hotel was not that expensive, but according to other Holiday Inn hotels in other cities, nothing special. In addition hotel is a bit far from the city Centre, but metro station is at least quite close. I did have some problems with non-English speaking personnel, in this quality hotel, personnel should speak English IMO. Collapse
