Used this hotel as a base outside London as we didn't want to drive into the centre. This was a cheap, but very good alternative. A 5 minute taxi, or 20 minute walk to the station, followed by a 25 minute train was ideal for a day trip into the centre of London. The following day we visited Harry Potter World which was just a 20 minute drive from the hotel. Overall a very nice hotel, with good connections to surrounding attractions. Collapse

As I was working nearby, I had a two night stay at this hotel just after the Christmas/New Year break. Unfortunately, my high expectations of the Holiday Inn standards were a dashed during this stay. The Reception staff were very pleasant and efficient and checked me in swiftly and with no dramas. My room, upon entering, seemed ok. Small, but enough room for me although, this was apparently a family room! If I had 3 or 4 people in this room, it would feel very cramped. Every time I stay in a Holiday Inn, I seem to get a room with an ‘interjoining’ door. While this doesn't bother me from a security point of view, it does annoy me from a noise point of view. I had two different sets of 'neighbours' on my two night stay. Both of whom had kids and were very noisy. You can literally hear everything they are doing through this door. My bedroom floor creaked near the bathroom every time I walked towards my room door. It then creaked again when I stepped into the bathroom - This was so loud, I am sure they would have heard it next door. I liked the idea of the shower/wet room, but the glass screen seemed a little to short to prevent the water from splashing onto the bathroom floor, so I had to use the towels to mop up each time I showered. The cleaner had even left their cleaning cloth in my bathroom – which was very disappointing! But the things that disappointed me most was the lack of the usual Holiday Inn standard services. The receptionist handed over a 'reduced Resteraunt Service' letter at check-in. This wasn't evident at all when I booked online and came as somewhat of a surprise. Basically, the Resteraunt was only open for a couple of hours each night, and only offered a handful of 'not very exciting' items like Pizza, Pasta or Curry. Even the breakfast started after I was due to be at work (7.30am). I had the Pizza on the first night and the Curry (which was cold on one side so obviously microwaved) on the second. These were my only meals in the two days due to the remote location. The bar didn’t even have any orange juice! Not very Holiday Inn. Now I do have to say that I seem to have paid a reduced room rate for my two days, probably due to the reduced service, but I would have expected to be informed of the reduced service before I booked, for my room to be quiet and cleaning equipment free! I noticed that the price of rooms rocketed up for the same room I stayed in and I would be fuming if I experienced the same service if I had paid any more for my stay. Would I stay here again? Only if I didn’t have any other option and certainly not at the room rates advertised. Very disappointed. Collapse

We almost didn't book this hotel due to poor reviews. I'm glad we did, because it was actually very nice. The rooms were quiet, spacious and the right temperature and the bathroom had a wonderful shower. The beds are quite hard, but I prefer that. I was also very impressed with the gym, which was very well-equipped for a small gym (two running machines, bikes and various other equipment). The lady who checked us in (Bella?) was very friendly. As other reviews have said, the food wasn't great, but then you don't come to an airport for a gourmet meal! We had dinner in the restaurant. The starter was actually very nice, as was the wine, but my pasta had obviously been microwaved and was stuck together and largely inedible. The reason I couldn't give the hotel any more than three stars is that reception specifically asked if we wanted a wake up call as we had an early flight. We asked to be called at 5 but the call never happened. Fortunately we'd set our phone alarms, but otherwise we would've missed our flight. When we raised this we were told it was an automated system and "I put it in myself, so it should have happened." It was probably just a systems glitch, but a big one for an airport hotel! Generally though I would recommend this hotel for a very comfortable stay if you have an early flight. Collapse

Holiday Inn-Luton Airport, the name says it all. Holiday Inn = clean, reasonably priced accommodations. Luton Airport = close proximity to airport. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. We actually walked to the airport. It's that close. What more could you want. I did not stay here expecting a great meal and I was not disappointed. If you have an early flight, this is place to stay. Collapse

After telling the hotel on booking i had coeliac disease...this hotel failed miserably on dinner. In this day and age, most hotels go above and beyond to cater for coeliacs. I had to explain 3 times to the waitress why I couldn't have pasta, bread and certain sauces after she'd been told by the chef to offer me them! I was eventually offered a salad which after a freezing day in December i was hoping for something warm and filling. They eventually cooked me a very tiny plate of cheesy chips which looked 2 days old! I couldn't eat as the chips were too hard and I didn't trust that the sauce was gluten free. So I went to bed hungry. My son wouldn't eat from the buffet as there was flies on the food. Other people were very disappointed too. Breakfast was much better although in most hotels they keep a loaf of frozen gluten free bread and a box of cereal. Staff seemed much "cleaner" too. Its a shame as the reception staff seemed lovely and professional and the bedrooms were nice. Collapse
