We chose this hotel primarily for it’s location as we were visiting Hampton Court Palace. We travelled from London by train to Surbiton which takes about 10 minutes. The hotel is then a 10-15 minute walk from the station The hotel was very modern throughout with Asian influences in the décor. Breakfast was a buffet style service with lots of hot and cold options. The staff were very helpful and friendly We booked a standard double room which was very spacious; plenty of room for two of us and our son (a cot was provided free of charge) The hotel also offer Executive rooms which overlook the River Thames After we arrived and unpacked we walked along the riverbank path to Kingston. For a relatively small town there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars. We ate at Steins German restaurant; it was pricy but nice for a treat! I can really recommend a trip to Hampton Court Palace; if you’re interested in the Kings and Queens of England, this is definitely the place for you. Highlights for us were Henry VIII’s Great Hall and Queen Anne’s bedchamber. Unfortunately, as it was raining we didn’t see much of the gardens and we didn’t even attempt the maze as we didn’t want to get lost. Collapse

Went to Hampton Court Tudor Joust so I need a hotel close by for me and my mum. Had a standard room with twin beds. Room was on the small side but fine to share for one night. No view as overlooked a roof and other hotel rooms in the building. Bathroom was small and had a frosted bathroom door so all and sundry could be seen.....please please get rid of these. Good job it was my mother and she's seen it all before! You can see people sitting on the toilet!! If it was Aiden Turner, I would happily like a see-through door but it wasn't. We had dinner in the hotel as it was the easiest option and it was really good. Service was excellent. Breakfast was also really good. Although I'm not sure about forking out £12 quid for it. All in all expensive trip for what is a basic room!! Collapse

Booked in to this hotel as closest we could get to Twickenham. The car park is at the back of the hotel, which I'm sure if it was tipping down with rain would have been a pain, but we were lucky it was a dry day. Reception, bar and restaurant were all lovely, had a room on the 2nd floor on the corner which looked over the Thames river, small balcony with a grubby plastic table and no chairs!. The room was small with not a lot of storage but was fine for us as Kingston and Surbiton are so lovely we were not in it much. The bed was very comfortable and offered a pillow menu. Bathroom was small but that again was not a problem. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and you could also request pancakes, waffles omelettes etc if you wished. All in all a good hotel for a short stay Collapse

Arrived at 8.15pm to check in only to find the room wasnt ready as it had been used for day occupancy. We had booked a twin and were only allocated a double (small) which wasn't ideal for 2 friends sharing! Instead of offering us a complimentary drink in the bar before our dinner reservation at 8.30 we were just asked if we would go straight in for dinner. Not much of a choice. Room was small and for £180 not a great deal. We paid £12 extra for breakfast and it is one of the poorest English breakfasts I've had. The experience did not reflect the price. I stayed in an Ibis in Scotland a few months ago for the princely sum of £35 inc. breakfast and it was far far superior. For work I regularly use Travelodge and again the price of this Holiday Inn bears no resenblance to the cost. Collapse
