It has been a while since we have stayed in this hotel, but visiting friends in nearby Bexley Heath gave us the opportunity to return. The location is good, being close to the network of roads, but we are never disturbed by traffic noise. There is plenty of parking, which is important to us. We received, as always, a friendly welcome and were glad to have a room on the first, rather than ground floor. The reception staff are always helpful and efficient. The room was similar to those of other Holiday Inns we have patronised: there is a good-sized comfortable bed, an easy and an office chair, hanging space and shelves, hot drink-making facilities and TV. The bathroom had a shower over the bath and one attached to the taps with an old-fashioned shower curtain. On our previous visit a few years ago we noticed decorators painting the skirting boards in the public areas, so we know that like all hotel chains, the Holiday Inn does update and refresh its facilities on a regular basis. While I was grateful to have a bath provided, it is now time for the shower facilities to be updated with a screen and an adjustable height shower for shorter guests. Breakfast provided an excellent choice: I had the fruit selection (superb), granola and yoghurt, and toast, juice and tea. My husband had the cooked fare. This was all good and the lady attending our table was helpful and friendly - a real credit to the company. We dined in the restaurant on our first night and our meal was good. The bar area is comfortable. We always enjoy staying at this hotel and we will be back next time we are in the area. Collapse

I visited the holiday inn Bexley on Sunday 22nd Oct. as my old friend was a guest there had asked to meet up. When I drove into the car park and noticed that both the barriers were up for the entrance and exit for the car park, no ticket machines were working. We spent a good couple of hours chatting and reminiscing before I left for home. A few days later I received a parking fine from 'Parking Eye' for £100. I went back to Bexley holiday inn to speak to someone at reception and I asked to speak to the manager (Lucas) he was not available. I was told that the parking was nothing to do with them but was an outside firm. By this time many notices of the new parking rules were displayed on posts around the car park and a new machine was on the front desk for people to put their car registration details in. When I asked for the date when these were put in place no one could tell me. I later phoned the hotel before paying the fine to speak to the manager, but he was not available for comment. As my friend and I are both seniors, this is a bitter pill to swallow. A total lack of communication between staff and guests. No leaflets available. Told new information could be read at the top of the posts in the car park!!! Collapse
Good hotel, good location

Like all Holiday Inns a good rather than great experience. As a beer afficianado there's never a great choice - caters for lager drinkers. However evening meal was good, and service was ok too. Bed was comfy and room was clean.

Stayed here several times for business, the hotel is well located, the staff are always great and breakfasts good. I have had evening meals here but usually wander into Bexley as I’m not a fan of hotel restaurants (sorry HI) The main problem for me is the ancient air conditioning system which seems to be preset for summer or winter only. I could not cool the room and had an uncomfortably hot room even in late October. I spoke with the receptionist but apparently that is how it is all they could advise was to turn it off and open the window. Well this is next to useless as they open about 2” so next to no draft enters the room. Please update the air conditioning HI Collapse
