We stayed here for 3 nights for my husband's birthday. Great staff, we did not say my husband's birthday but they picked it up from driving license. They left balloons, chocolates and card for him. Busy port to the right of the hotel, marina in front of hotel and beach to left. Fantastic views. Easy parking. A must when in the area. Will go back same time next year. Collapse
Good for a company offsite, in great weather it would be much better, I imagine.

There are two remarkable things about this hotel, in my opinion. The staff is just great, they are really friendly and try to cater to any request with flexibility and a smile. The other thing was the quality of the food. Breakfast includes some quaint options like being able to squeeze your own fresh orange juice or make your own waffles on a waffle iron. The catering to our business meetings was also very good, including fresh fruit, water with lemon, and fresh mint. The rooms are spacious, although the lighting is very very dim, so it was difficult to work in the room itself. We were there during stormy weather, I can imagine that the location is much more welcoming during sunny weather. Collapse

Date: March 11-12. Room: Superior with tub and dune/harbor view (1st floor), 2 guests, room 131. First impressions: after having visited several hotels in this pricerange, we found the hotel looked old and had a retirementhome feel to it. There was no clearly designated entrance and the smell inside the building was not particularly nice. Hotel staff was very polite and made us feel welcome. The room: unpleasant smell, dirty floor, mold on the ceiling, moisture coming through the walls, balcony was very dirty with bird droppings on the furniture, bed headboard was also dirty and there were 2 beds placed next to each other that kept moving apart so we couldn't cuddle. Windows were also dirty (took pictures of the room and balcony and attached several to this review). Bathroom was clean at least. The furniture inside the room and hotel looked outdated. Our overall experience: see above. Also, we were abruptly woken by an alarm while we were planning to sleep in for a little bit. There was no staff informing the guests about the situation, so we hurried to the reception area only to hear laughter coming from an office in the back. There was no receptionist to receive worried guests until we rang the bell. We felt like we were bothering the receptionist. We would like to have seen a representative of the hotel be at the entrance to inform worried and confused guests, instead of having to look for one. The breakfast was acceptable though. But would not recommend this hotel, especially outside of the holiday season. Felt mislead by the pictures and information on the website/reviews of other guests. Overall even if the room was clean and taken care of it still would be far from the experience you'd expect from a room in this pricerange. Not at all the relaxing weekend enjoying a luxurious room in a luxury(/wellness) hotel we had expected. Collapse

Stayed in a standard room. Size did not disappointed me at all. Like all rooms it had a large balcony. A harbor view might have been more interesting, but mine was on the dunes side - which in turn does have an advantage for being located on the sunny side. The room is equipped with an (empty) refrigerator. It made some noise, so I unplugged it at night. The heater/ac on the other hand was very quiet and it worked flawlessly. The kettle in the room was very slow, it seemed to take ten minutes to heat up just two cups of water. But anyway, this is a beach location, there should be no need to be in a hurry. The overall maintenance of the room left something to be desired. Once again, because this is a beach hotel I am less critical, but there were stains on a chair and stains on a wall, which should not have to be left untreated in my opinion. They had a decent restaurant, where it was nice to stay at, but the service was a bit slow. It just seemed like not enough staff were available - maybe they had called in sick, or more guest than usual showed up - I don't know. The February menu special was good and had some surprising elements. The price also was reasonable. If you are staying here for several days, within walking distance there are a few other restaurants you could try out. The next morning at breakfast, it again appeared that there were not enough staff - or they had to perform too many tasks. Yet, it was at the peak time of the morning (9:30) with all tables filled. The breakfast was nicely priced, so no reason to complain about it any further. May stay here again in summer if I'm in the area. Collapse

The hotel is ok. Breakfast and lunch are ok too. Dinners are pretty good. The staff is excellent, but the hotel has a serious heating problem. Rooms are too hot. The meeting rooms on the east side are too hot, while the one on the west side is really cold. The mini fitness could be better too. No mats for stretching for instance. The potential is there, it just needs some points of attention. Collapse
