Disgusting place to stay - good location, well decorated reasonable rooms but got some wild rats running around kitchen and who knows where else. Was having my late afternoon meal near the bar area and whilst was waiting for latte to be prepared saw a rat through the door running around the kitchen – reported it immediately to lady behind the bar she seemed very concerned and called for the manager, he comes around 2 minute chat, opens and shuts the kitchen door and dismisses my claim as if I’m seeing things, asked him (I believe name was Vinod) to call for a higher manager to come and investigate, however again he very unprofessionally dismissed me saying that there are no rats etc. and literally walked away. Next morning vent to reception and tried to speak to general manager about the above matter as overnight I also saw that a condom has been put around the smoke alarm in my room – probably previous guest tried to have a sneaky smoke, again manager comes presents himself as Gagan – general manager of the hotel – and again in a very unprofessional manner dismisses my claim that impossible for any rats to be around, said that smoke alarm would still have worked had there been any smoke in my room, says he’s busy and walks away. No interest in the above matter whatsoever. Place definitely not recommended. Collapse
A bit of a mixed bag…

There's OK and there's bad…first the OK. The rooms are standard Holiday Inn, so more or less what you need and more importantly clean. Front desk staff were very friendly and very efficient, but the bar staff? What a miserable, unhelpful collection of people who should be doing anything other than working in a service industry. I don't think I have come across a group of people who wanted to be doing their jobs less than this team, and between them they manage to put a downer on things - I'm sorry to say this wasn't an isolated one off experience, it happened over the course of several rounds over a couple of evenings. If you want gloom with your pint then this is the place to go. Collapse
It does its job, plenty of parking, dogs allowed, just off motorway.

This was a stopover and had booked beforehand. Plenty of parking, I was particularly impressed by the bright red Ferrari straddling two spaces. Chap on reception was very helpful, you couldn't fault him, I would say he was working hard and I felt he could have done with a hand though. Room was fine if a little on the small side, as we had our dog with us we got takeaway pizza in town and ate in our room, dogs not allowed in public areas. Breakfast was a bit sad looking, eggs/beans/mushrooms and hash browns were overcooked due to being out too long. Fruit and yogurt was nice, it was a complete copy of what you get in the chain hotels like PremierInn, but not as good. The young girl in that area forgot smiling might be nice the time I was there, but hey ho she probably had her reasons. Collapse

I was welcomed by a very helpful chap at reception, he very quickly booked me in and explained where my room was etc, I asked him about food locally and he suggested I eat in as the local places would probably be closed and the hotel served food till 11pm (it was now 10:48) I agreed and fetched my wife, we quickly decided and asked at the bar for a pizza, only to be told that they had finished serving unless we wanted cold sandwiches, I advised the the hotel receptionist had told me they served till 11am but no way was she changing her mind and quite rudely just shrugged her shoulders and walked off,I very quickly returned to the reception he apologised and said should be till 11pm and again offer cold sandwiches. We went to the room and actually clean tidy and well presented. After ordering a pizza via a local delivery service (farmhouse pizza 4* !!) we decided to watch a little TV before settling down, and guess what tv was stuck on 1 channel and remote did not work, so sleep we went Overall nice hotel that just needs some management and a few silly things sorting, just because the staff wanted to go home does not mean the hotel can stop functioning as advertised and promoted etc Collapse

Stayed here on a Saturday night after a family birthday party held locally. This was the only place with 5 miles. Arrived here at 11:10 am, assuming we wouldn't be able to check in other than to leave the car in the car park and get a taxi (didn't intend drinking and driving). No - after a few minutes delay, I was given the key to the room (ground floor, but a bit of a trek from reception). When we returned on Saturday night around 10pm, we did have to struggle through the bar area; 1 or 2 of the tables encroached too much on the route to the rooms. Bed was a good size, and comfortable. 4 pillows, with 2 of them actually labelled 'hard' and 'soft', so we could fight over who got what. There is a thermostat in the room, but the sign on it did say the temperature was pre-set centrally, so wasn't sure if that meant we couldn't make it higher, lower or both? There are 5 spare mains sockets, enough for all your accessories. There was a generous desk, long & deep enough to accommodate a laptop computer and 3 sheets of A4 paper, ie to work at. There were tea/coffee making facilities, as well as a mini-bar (expensive - £1.50 for a 330ml can of Fanta), and hairdryer, iron, ironing board & trouser-press. Wardrobe had 6 wooden hangers. There as a room safe, which displayed the 'key' as you locked it. There was 2 small complementary bottles of mineral water (fizzy & still) and a large Mars bar(!). The room had free BT WiFi, plus I saw advertised an option for High-speed upgrade for £3.95 ( day? week?). The shower was intense, a good temperature, with a removable head. The restaurant was good for breakfast; with option of either continental or cooked breakfast (I had the latter) : fried egg, baked beans, mushrooms (lovely), sausage bacon, hash brown, all maintained at the right temperature. We paid £123 for an 'Executive' Double (nothing special about it in my eye) with breakfast for 2. As to the downsides? There was no fan in the bathroom, so with the door closed it could get hot & stuffy in there. The toilet paper was single ply, rather thin, so you ended up using more of it. The furniture in the room (desk etc) upon closer inspection looked old and worn, could do with a refurbishment. The mini-bar was a 'smart' one, in that if you moved anything you were automatically billed for it. Therefore not practical to bring in your own juice or water and chill it. I use to encounter these years ago in the USA, and hated them if you wanted to put anything in, eg medicines? The restaurant was a mishmash of styles : in some ways it had a 1950's architecture about it. The floor was light wood, but the tables were a heavy dark wood effect formica. The food wasn't labelled, although there were label 'stands' evident - so of the 3 different yoghurts on offer, no idea if they were plain, sweet, unflavoured, etc. Coffee and juice were good, but no-one came by to ask if we wanted a refill of coffee (we didn't - but that's not the point).
