The location of this hotel is second to none - not only is it near the station and a rental car company, it's a great base for sightseeing because a lot of the good stuff is within walking distance. We arrived early so left our luggage in their storage room while we explored the area. By 10am, our room was ready which was much appreciated after a 24 hour journey. Being part of the rewards program, we were given an upgraded room, freebies and access to the premium wifi - these bonuses definitely didn't hurt our opinion of the hotel. ;) The in-house restaurant is pricey (many cheaper alternatives are nearby) but the food is pretty good. Breakfast is amazing - we really liked the pancake machine. In summary, I'd probably never stay at another hotel in Helsinki. This is the one for me. Collapse

Stayed here 3 nights in mid-March before heading off to Ivalo in northern Lapland. We chose this hotel for its central location in downtown Helsinki and were not disappointed. We arrived at Helsinki-Vantaa airport and had a choice of riding the P or I train to the Central Railway Station or taking the Finnair City Bus or 615 bus to the bus station at Eliel square. Though we ended up taking the train, it didn't matter as both stations were located just next to the hotel. From the hotel, most of the main sights like the National Museum, Rock Church, Esplanade, Kauppatori, Hakaniemi market hall, Helsinki & Uspenski catherals were all less than 20 minutes walk away, as were shopping malls like Kammpi, Forum, Stockmann and many others. The tram station at Rautatieasema was just at the end of the railway station and provided access to almost all of the city trams. Like most other Holiday Inns, this hotel provided a comfortable stay at a reasonable price with buffet breakfast thrown in. Check in staff was courteous - we arrived around 7 in the morning and they allowed us to leave our luggage in the baggage room while we explored Suomenlinna island before returning in the afternoon to check in. Our double and twin rooms were clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable. Free hotel wifi worked well. The only thing we noticed was that only the basic toiletries were provided in the bathroom. Perhaps it was to reduce wastage (this was one of those 'green' hotels) so those wanting combs, toothbrushes, sewing repair kits etc. had to request for them at the reception counter - not an issue for most guests. The breakfast buffet spread was adequate with the usual cold and warm selections. There were bread/pastry, cheese, fruit, salad and cereal stations while the warm section had sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes and soup noodles. Enough for a satisfying, full breakfast to start the day. They didn't vary the selections though; it was the same spread every morning so it got tiring by the third morning. Overall, a satisfactory stay and highly recommended for those looking for a central hotel close to all the main attractions in Helsinki. Collapse

Good, conveniently located hotel in the City Centre next to the train station. Nothing extraordinary when it comes to service or room fit out. Neither very positive nor negative. Reliable for business travelers.

We stayed here twice, before setting off by train to Northern Finland and on our return before flying from the airport. The hotel is so adjacent to the railway station that it is almost part of it, and has coach station outside although there is no noise from either discernible within the hotel. Coaches and trains link the location to the airport, though we used the airport taxi service (€50 return for up to two people) as with our large ski bags this was far more convenient. The room was very comfortable and well appointed with desk, chair, shelf and long mirror. The room also had an easy chair, good lighting and plenty of electric sockets. There was a comfortable double bed with bedside tables. There was a modern and very clean bathroom/wet room with toilet, good shower and large make-up area with wide mirror, good lighting, and hair dryer. The room had an iron and ironing board and a very reasonably sized wardrobe and a mini-bar, though no in-room safe. Although we were using it as a 'transit hotel' it seemed to also be ideal for a city visit. There is a gym, though we did not use or see it. We had one meal in the restaurant which was tasty, reasonably priced with good service. There are a number of sitting areas in the vicinity of the reception which we made use of whilst waiting for our transport. A notable aspect was the friendliness of the reception staff, who also readily corrected my booking which was inadvertently for one person instead of two! Collapse

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night in December. The hotel is extremely well located adjacent to the train station (not noisy at all inside, despite being so close to train station), and a bus station opposite. Many attractions are within walking distance. The hotel has the amenities one would expect in such a hotel. The room was of good size, modern and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities, Wifi reception was good. A very good buffet breakfast is served daily. Reception was customer care were impeccable. They kept an item we had forgotten behind until we collected it, and even let us keep our luggage there at the hotel on the day of transit back home. I would recommend the hotel, and would obviously stay there if I return to Helsinki Collapse
