Overnight stay with dog

Very helpful staff during our one night stay, excellent self help breakfast. A grass area by the side of the hotel to exercise the dog. Would stay here again with no hesitation. Room spacious and clean.

My family and I were visiting the area and needed a hotel for an overnight stay so used a well known website to choose somewhere. This came up with some good reviews and appeared to be good value for money so booked it through the website. The hotel is located on a business park so it is very well signposted. It's also next to a small shopping centre, which has a Burger King and a large Morrisons Supermarket, so if you've forgotten anything, you can always buy it here. There's a large car park next to the hotel, with a Beefeater Restaurant (and pub) across the road, so you're sorted for dinner if you don't want to go far - you can even have a drink or 2! We were greeted with a warm, friendly smile and they found my booking immediately. Usually, despite filling in details online, I have to repeat myself when I arrive at the venue but not in this case - a few signatures and I was given my room entry cards and directed towards the lift. The room is termed as a family room which has a double bed and a sofa bed which folds out into another double bed. There's the usual stuff in the room - TV (which has a USB input if you want to bring your own music / films), iron, kettle and tea making facilities, air conditioning and a desk with a chair. However, there was no fridge - slightly disappointing. With the sofa bed folded out, there's not a lot of room so at least 2 of us had to be on the bed / sofa bed at any time. There's an en-suite with a shower and a sink and a toilet. The door to the en-suite opens into the en-suite and closes off the toilet, so you can still have a shower / brush your teeth if someone's using the toilet. Our room faced towards the front of the hotel and was surprisingly quiet. We visited on a weekend so I don't know how busy / loud it can be when there's visitors / staff going to the business and shopping centres during the week. I found the double bed really comfy - the mattress was really soft but that's a double edged sword as I could feel it when the wife moved. The sofa bed had a thinner mattress so was a bit firmer but still comfortable enough. The sofa bed was already made up for when we arrived, so we just unpacked and went out for the evening. It was a blissfully peaceful night - I didn't hear anyone from any of the other rooms but I did hear the other residents as they walked past the room, in the corridor though. Once we awoke the next day, I put the sofa back together (it's quite simple - just lift and 'fold' it back into the base of the sofa like most other sofa beds) so we could have some space whilst we got ourselves ready and then we headed down for breakfast. You find yourself a table in the restaurant and then head into the adjoining room where there's a hotplate with bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and beans. There's baps (bread rolls) nearby and bread and a toaster. There's also small muffins and fresh croissants with butter, marmalade, chocolate spread and honey. You can also get cereal, fruit juices and there's a machine for coffee and hot chocolate and hot water for tea - although it's what you would normally find in a hotel, I must admit I was impressed with the freshness and quality. The only downside was that I couldn't get a fried or poached egg. Check-out was even easier than the check-in! I handed over the room cards and they did a quick check to confirm I didn't need to pay anything more and we were out of there within a few minutes. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and I was surprised it was so nice considering I didn't pay as much as some other places for a room for a family of 4. I must also mention the breakfast lady (sorry, I didn't get her name!). She greeted us with a huge smile and she never stopped once! If she wasn't checking that guests were okay, she was clearing away tables and preparing them for the next guests, or checking on the buffet and replenishing items - always with a cheery smile All the staff were really friendly and if I'm staying over in Stirling again, I'd happily come back here again. I was in Stirling for a conference and stayed in a double room, which was clean and well furnished. Bathroom was on the smallish side but perfectly adequate. Fairly bog standard hotel room with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was self service and lovely with a good choice of hot and cold options. I have to say the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful at all times and worthy of a special mention. All in all, a nice hotel despite the industrial estate location. I would definitely stay here again, good value for money. Collapse

We used this hotel for a couple of nights whilst we were in Scotland for an explore - and an wedding. It was easy to find, big car park - and easy to check in. Our room had a huge bed, was very comfortable. We had a lovely view (over the car park ;) ) to the hills beyond and a tower in the distance. The room and bathroom were both very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great, there's not a massive choice, but perfect for what we wanted. Would definitely stay here again. Collapse

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Sterling. The staff was welcoming, gracious and really nice. Our room faced the street but noise was not a factor here. Breakfast was good and on time. I love how they have a mini bar and snacks available as you check in. The only bad thing was the restaurant next door. HORRIBLE. had to wait for an hour and a half. It's loud and the food is bad. If I would have known how close the town was, we would have went there for dinner. The second night we ate dinner in town and had a pizza at the hotel for a late snack. Every staff member was helpful and we would go back because of them. Collapse
