This hotel is very conveniently located, just 2 miles from Universal Studios, and close to Premium Outlets and restaurants. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful, the housekeeping staff was very pleasant and quiet, rooms are spacious and comfortable (though the beds are a little hard). There were lots of student groups and families but we didn't find the noise to be a problem. Breakfast was amazing, great selection of hot and cold items, though it was quite busy any time we visited. Shuttle service to Universal & Sea World was available and ran 4 trips out in the morning and 4 trips back in the afternoon/evening (book the day before to ensure space), also had Citywalk shuttle service in the evenings. Taxi to or from Universal was less then $10. Disappointed that there was no safe in the rooms, but there were cautionary posters not to leave valuables in the rooms (safety deposit boxes cannot hold tablets or larger items, though the staff were nice enough to put our valuables in their safe). Room cleanliness was ok, carpets had some stains, and the bathroom tiles were starting to show real wear. Good budget friendly hotel, but don't expect a five star room. Collapse
Wish it were more clean...

The location is great when visiting Universal and having the free shuttle is a plus- but the room wasn't as clean as it could have been- especially the carpet and bathroom. I can forgive a place for most things but any hotel has the ability to be basically clean. Breakfast was good but the room was much to small for the amount of people going through at any given time. We booked this room as part of a package from Universal so that we could get into the park an hour early. That part of it was well worth it as it saved us well over an hour of standing in line at Gringotts. For the most part the staff at this property was very helpful. The only bad thing was that the woman at the front desk told us that we should take the shuttle to the park in the morning. All we needed to do was stop by the desk in the lobby in the morning and get a pass. We took the bus to CityWalk in the evening and despite only having two stops after us it took forever to get there. We Ubered out of CityWalk and decided we would do the same in the morning as the first shuttle wouldn't get us to the early park opening in time. Good thing we did because we were there when the desk opened in the morning all of the shuttles for the day were full already. The women at the desk said that you always have to make plans for the next day (Monday for Tuesday, etc.) so there was no way we would ever have been able to take it on a one-day stay. The service is also extremely limited and wouldn't be very customer friendly. The Uber was only about $7 each way. Well worth it as it is a long walk. Uber pickup at Universal is a bit of chaos though especially at park closing. Just beware. The rooms in this hotel are seriously lacking. We had a double room that was just off the elevator and the ice machine. We sleep hard so that wasn't a huge factor, but thank goodness there were only two of us staying as I don't know how all four of us couldn't have existed in that space. Very small and the bathroom is no bigger than a closet. I travel quite a bit and this is easily the smallest room I have been in a long, long time. It was clean and comfortable for the crash pad we needed, but just beware if you have more people. I have also read that they are going to add fridges and microwaves in all the rooms. This will cut into the precious space even more. The breakfast was very, very good the one day that we could use it (as we had early departure the second day). It was easy to access the food although it might get really, really crowded at peak times. All in all I can just give this property a so-so review. Collapse
Best location for going to Universal.

Stayed here during Wrestlemania weekend. The hotel is your standard Holiday Inn Express. The room was very clean and comfortable. I really liked the decor in the hotel. It had a little movie theme. The Blues Brothers statues in the lobby were pretty cool. It was a pretty unique setup. The fitness center was adequate, it is typical of most Holiday Inn Expresses. The wifi was useable, but had a weak signal on the top floor. Parking is complimentary, you do need a pass after 10:00pm. The hotel is in need of a major renovation, which I heard was about happen. One of the desk clerks mentioned that the hotel was about to undergo a complete renovation. I recommend this hotel if you're in need of a moderately priced accommodations close to Universal. Collapse

We are gold members with holiday inn's. We travel often and always use them. And by doing so we have come to expect a certain standard with the rooms ect. When we stay. This is by far the worst holiday inn we have stayed at. I have no idea if we were given such a poor room because we used points to book our stay ( not the best way to treat loyal customers) or if all the rooms are as bad as ours but we are currently staying here from April 1st-April 5th, and can't believe IHG has their name behind this one. Pros: Close to universal Breakfast CONS: The first room we were assigned 401. 1. A double bed room. That was so small you could barely fit anyone in there. (We needed a double bed due to the size of out party. 2. The beds were horrid, felt like they were 20 years old and had you walking up with back problems. 3. There are no safes in the rooms. You must request them. Pretty much an open invitation for housekeeping to take something. 4. There are also no fridges nor microwaves in the rooms which it states in the room description. You must request one and when we did. This old beat up fridge was delivered and barelt squeezed into the little space we had left. To top it off the matinee left the extra chair that had to be moved to fit the fridge and we could barelt open the door. 5. Very very thin walls. You can hear the ice machine outside your door. ! 6. No bathtub in the bedrooms. And the bathrooms are the size of a cruise ships. Im serious. Only one person can fit in them unless someone is in the shower. ( I am embarrassed to admit this and we tried to work it out with the front desk where I didn't have to tell them the reason, but they were so unaccomidating that I finally, almost in tears, had to explain that I am diabetic with bad blood flow in my lower legs and feet. I also have a history or staph infections. I had recently cut my foot and developed an infection. I have to soak my foot in an Epson salt mixture daily and needed a bathtub for this.) I never thought in a million years I'd not have a bathtub. So after embarrassing myself in front of a few ppl and the front desk explaining this they finally agreed to move us. However it only had a single bed in it. Not a double, and it was way smaller than the last room. I pretty much took room 900 because I didn't have a choice and I needed to soak my feet. we had to get an incomfortable pull out bed, in the already cramped room for our third person. We tried to pay for an upgrade, tried to even pay for a transfer as long as it was a double and had a tub but we're told we could not. I now have a tub but no fridge to keep my medicine in bc the room is to small to fit everything. I have a yeti cup filled with ice for my medicine to stay cold. I seriously cannot believe this is a holiday inn and that we were given such horrible accommodations without the option to pay and move to a similar but larger accommodating room or a similar room with two beds. I have never never stayed at a holiday Inn with such small, rundown rooms and only showers. We're going to play out this trip here because I don't feel like moving hotels and the proximity to universal but we most likely will not be staying at a holiday Inn or ihg owned hotel again. If this is how their valued heavily repeat customers are treated and given then we'll find a diferent group to use. Anyone reading this, I'd suggest staying somewhere else. P.s the pool is very small and outdated so if your coming wanting to relax by the pool, probably not going to happen. Collapse
