This is the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. Very disappointed especially with the desk clerks. They did not appear to know their job and didn't seem to care. We made a reservation over a week in advance but when we got there we were informed that they had no rooms available that matched our reservation. We had asked for ground floor because I am temporarily disabled. Finally they said wellwe have room 101 but it's a two room suite and they have late check out. They offered a free upgrade for one night but the other nights would be an extra $50 a night. We said okay. They said they would call us when the room was clean. Two hours later we come back and the person we talked to had left. The people on duty now said we can't rent that room because it's down. Whatever that means. And after telling us earlier that we could check in early now they say you can't because check in isn't allowed until 3:00. Like robots. Over and over. Check in isn't til 3:00. At this point we asked to speak to the manager but we're told there isn't one here. In fact there wasn't one available that day or the next 3 days. Maybe that's the problem. So after much discussion they suddenly decided the room on the first floor 101 would be available but not til after 3:00. We walked by the room and nobody was cleaning it. The door was open and we looked in and it was a mess. So we ended up taking the room on the third floor that we didn't want. Taking the free shuttle to the Opryland Hotel was nice. They take you to the Delta Portico. But getting them to come back and get you is another matter. We called for pickup and waited 25 minutes. Keep in mind it's a 4 minute drive. I called back and the person who answered said uh Terry should be there or he's on his way. Well he must have run errands on the way. So after 30 minutes we finally got a ride back. The driver never acknowledged us. Never spoke to us. Extremely rude. All I can say is I've traveled all across this country and I've never seen such inept desk clerks. You can rest assured we would never stay here again. The breakfast is mediocre and the towels are like sandpaper. Coffee maker in room didn't work. And on the second day there we were told that room 101 had a police dog and handler in it. And they wanted him to stay on the first floor so that room was never going to be available. So yet another story. Who knows what the truth was. After reading managements response to other complaints on Trip Advisor it is obvious this unavailable management doesn't care about their guests. When we checked in the first problem occurred. Took the key to the room and someone else luggage was inside. We had to change rooms then. O.K. At the desk another guest was complaining that their key would not open the door. (I actually heard this complaint several times as I went through the lobby) Dirty linen left in room at bottom of bed. Reported at front desk, still there next day when we left the room. Garbage left in room after cleaning. I have pictures of all of this. The lamp on bedside table has two outlet plugs. I reported to front desk that one was not working. His solution was for us to change rooms??? Why not bring lamp from other room and plug in? They brought us an electrical strip to use. At that time we discovered that both outlets in lamp had a short but if we jiggled the strip it would turn on, so fine. While sitting in the lobby one afternoon the desk clerk coming on duty came in with his dirty laundry for him to wash while at work. Not going to be a lot of work done that day!! Way overpriced for what was provided. Black mold growing around bottom of tub and corner of wall. We would have left if we had not reserved the room for the whole week. We will not be returning here. Very unprofessional staff. I cannot say that about everyone but the ones we dealt with were not worth their salary. Did not even get an itemized bill on checkout. IF you have a choice DO NOT STAY HERE. One day you may hear of a fire due to faulty lamp! Collapse

Hotel clean, housekeeping professional, accommodating and good. Breakfast typical, nothing great, nothing horrible. Area very nicely decorated and always clean. Biggest complaint is front desk staff...daytime help...a couple friendly offering suggestions for great places to eat and areas of town to take rides to explore. Ka'tran (?) is sincere, caring and interested in hotel clients. The night staff, especially Terry, is completely disinterested in customers. Always on smart phone. Always. Asked serving hours of nearby restaurant as needed to eat and it was later and he said he didn't know. I asked if he would mind calling, he said he'd have to lookup number so why didn't i look it up on my smartphone. That attitude, to me, is unacceptable. We were the only ones at front desk! Fire truck and ambulance arrived one night as we were coming in...told Terry and, again on smartphone, said he saw on security camera. Never went outside to investigate. It could have been a customer who fell in lot.. wouldn't management want to know this? Terry did not note in hotel log as another concerned hotel customer spoke to hotel manager the next morning....he said it wasn't recorded in log although he'd heard something happened. I do not know if this hotel is a corporate or privately owned site but, whichever, some staff need to be reminded to be friendly, caring and accomodating. There are many, many hotel choices in Nashville. Last item....rooms are not technoligy updated.. no ubs ports, two of our electrical light outlets didn't work...hard to deal with when have two phones and two c-pap machines. Collapse

Very nice hotel with perfect location next to Opryland and Grand Ole Opry. They even have free shuttle bus that will take you there. People working at this hotel are prime example of southern hospitality. Breakfast bar has many good options and everything tastes fresh. Our room was nice with exception of few carpet stains. Wifi was horrible! Very slow and most time not even connecting. I would also like to see a soap dish in the bathroom. Soap was just sliding on the counter. Collapse
