Great day out in London and Harry Potter Studio

Have to say it wasn't a good stay at all !!!! Starting with the room all the way to the reception staff being confused about their own rules ! Our room was a good size but the beds were terrible, uncomfortable and the bedding on the sofa bed had stains on it ! The carpet was disgusting, full of stains and hair , and the tiles in the bathroom had hair on it as well ! As we were staying on a staff rate and should've had 50% off we double checked with the reception before going to the restaurant for dinner and they confirmed. Our bill wasn't done properly and only got 20% off. In the morning when we did the check out , we told the receptionist that the bar staff didn't give us the discount so she called the manager which looked like she couldn't be bothered to ask or look into it and told us that it doesn't apply in that hotel even though we checked before having dinner ! Left the car in the parking and on return we had to go in and out as the ticket they validated wouldn't work ! Definitely wouldn't recommend or go there again ever !!!! Collapse

All around not a great experience. Phoned ahead both a week and two weeks in advance to organise an early check in and been told absolutely no problem. Had also requested two rooms beside each other again told no problem. Arrived at 11am (an hour later than had even asked to have the room ready for to make sure they'd have ample time). Only 1 of 2 rooms ready, had been travelling all night so not enough beds to use to sleep till after 2. Eventually got the second room just after 12 and wasnt beside the first. Flushed toilet in room and paper all came back up from the toilet and a bad smell. Call reception and told them at 1230. No one came to the room so at 1pm went to tell reception. Went out and was told mainteance would have the issue sorted. Came back at 730 and mainteance had no record of notification and hadn't been to the room and had gone home from the evening. Front desk asked me did I have a plunger and if so to try that (No offence Im not doing that at a hotel Ive paid to use) Lady (Dorota) came up with plunger, apologised and said they had this problem before with this room but thought it had been resolved. Eventually moved to a room on the next floor. One light in it flickered constantly so had to be left off. One of the beds was also broken or had springs damaged but at this stage after 2 hours sleep in 36 I couldnt care less. Breakfast next morning. Well.... picture of full english breakfasts yet only hot food available were sausages, scrambled egg which was terrible and beans. Had to ask for cutlery 3 times. Tables full of rubbish from other diners, very slow to be cleared. Were late enough down for breakfast so thought maybe thats why thats all that was being served. 9 am for breakfast next day and still the same. Depsite room having do not disturb sign up when gone for breakfast still came back to beds being made up. Next morning (morning of check out) had cleaning staff knock on the door at 9:05 while still asleep to ask were we checking out and could they come in and clean. Check out is 11am. How hard is it to ask their own recpetion if we had checked out. Am a big Premier inn Fan but would never reccommend this hotel to someone again. Collapse

Stayed for 1 night while visiting Alexandra Palace for the snooker. Very very friendly staff who are incredibly helpful. Well located for bus and tube links and competitive value with decent breakfast. Free parking and £1 per hour after check out at 11am, so was able to leave the car and take a tube into London. Struggle to understand any of the negative reviews! New go-to hotel for my next London visit. Well done guys. Collapse
