My family and I recently stayed and had some vouchers to Knowsley Safari Park. When we first arrived the front staff were fantastic. They told us how long it would take for our room to be ready and told us to have a seat and drink. The room was ready earlier than expected and it was clean. (Surprisingly we have been to hotels that haven't been completely clean when we checked in, this was not one of them). The bathroom was a nice size to, walk in shower with no bath. If you have young children you might find the lack of bath an issue, but again, everyone is different. I slept on a pull out sofa bed which was a bit painful. It dipped in the middle a bit and had a bar toward the lower back so took some manoeuvring to get comfortable. The actual bed was very comfortable, but my wife and kids slept there. I took one for the team :) The free breakfast in the morning was excellent too. The first day I had: sausages, bacon, eggs, bread and a few beans. The different juices (apple, orange and different squashes) were a good selection. They also had croissants and muffins as well. The second day I stuck to the cold breakfast which consisted of cereals and yogurt with a berry fruits and syrup. Overall it was a good stay and experience. I would go again with the family and it was "close" to Liverpool City Centre. It was a 20 to 30 minute drive (depending on traffic) and we were close to both Anfield and Everton Stadium. Staff was fantastic but the only improvement I would say was just the sofa bed and during breakfast they did run out of tables so we had to wait, until a staff member opened up another room. Collapse

From start to finish everything below expectations. Hotel directory says there is dinner served in the evening but that wasn't there. We went to the neighboring hotel to get something to eat. I find this rather strange if you're located so far away from other establishments. We got a room with malfunctioning toilet flush, hairdryer and shower. After raising the issues in the morning we could move to another room. We were packed for easy relocation, and as it was 9am, we figured they may not have a room ready so we told at the reception that they can move us in the afternoon as we would be out for the day. To my surprise we were asked to move our own luggage to the new room, which was still dirty from the previous guests. I am sorry but this is basics. You don't let paying guests go to a room that hasn't been cleaned yet. Breakfast was a nightmare, not enough seats for everyone, tiny buffet set up in a cramped corner where you can hardly move when alone, imagine when 30+ hungry people are there. Quality is very low, maybe consider taking a 5$ split from your roomrate to at least serve a decent coffee. As we were leaving for the day we said we expect the room to be cleaned when we come back. In the evening we came back late, yes linen had been changed and the toilet paper had been folded but apart from that it wasn't clean. Toothpaste on the bathroom door, hairs from previous guest everywhere and mirror not wiped. Next morning on checkout, no "good morning" no "how was your stay" and when we asked to call a taxi the answer was: "the phone is there, just call them yourself!" I would have been happy to discuss the discomfort in person but the lack of people skills of the staff put me off. Collapse

It wasn't a warm day so I don't know why it was so warm! Fortunately there was a fan which helped. Other than the warm room, it was a nice stay. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of variety. Would visit again if in area. Collapse

We stayed here for 2 nights, 2 adults 2 children.Room was adequate clean although a little tired looking in places. We were disappointed to find the hotel didn't have a restaurant in the evenings so we had to venture out.On a plus side we did find a fabulous Indian restaurant in Prescot to which I will write a different review.Breakfast well I've never seen anything like it.If I didn't have 2 children to feed I seriously wouldn't have bothered.First step was finding a table, we ended up sitting in a little conference room.Next step was finding clean glasses for juice. An impossible task poor staff could only offer cups.Next was finding milk to go with the cereal. This is basically how breakfast goes if you can find it you can have it.The staff worked continously running around trying to keep everyone happy. Very patient and tolerant even with rude guests so well done to them. This hotel isn't for us. Collapse
