Great hotel, fantastic service, good location. Breakfast is a bit basic but you you get what you pay for. Clean, warm and comfortable. A great base to explore the Wirral I would stay again ----------------------------------

Our visit to this hotel was pleasurable , the staff where very friendly and welcoming and the rooms where spotless and modern. Beds where comfy and would defiantly return. Although the breakfast was simple it was very nice.

Me and my partner sought refuge here (we have 3 children and a willing babysitter) for just one night. We travelled by train and we were very pleased to find the hotel just a short walk over the road - I in particular was very happy as I had stupidly purchased new boots with a larger than average heel. On approaching the hotel we spotted a pub just over the road, we checked there's no Sky sports. The hotel itself is lovely, clean outside and Inn (get it haha) (sorry). Quick and friendly check in, the placing of the bar next to reception meaning you can get after hours drinks was a splendid touch - they have gin it tastes good. Took the lift up even though we were on the first floor, my partner was fed up of me pretending that my feet weren't detaching from my legs - silly boots. Our room wasn't huge but we hadn't planning on doing cartwheels so it was good. Obviously switched on every light in there, a bulb out is a deal breaker but these guys passed. Very happy to see a little sofa in there, I could put my fat ankles up without the risk of falling asleep. Once I could feel my toes I did the obligatory 'jump on the bed' test, very soft and comfortable, after two years of not sleeping it was very tempting to curl up. Everywhere in the hotel smelt so fresh that my partner felt out of place, he tried the shower said it cleaned places he didn't know he had - I think that's good. I sat and tried endlessly to get the t.v but I stopped before my patience ran thin. Noticing that they had free Wi-Fi I attempted to watch the Everton game on Sky go, their internet it good but not that good. Once my partner finally got ready we headed out stopping to report the broken t.v on the way and stressing the importance it was to us - Pointless was on Challenge at 12am. The receptionist was very understanding and promised to have it fixed for our return - she's clearly a Richard Osman fan. After stargazing on the beach and chugging gin in the pub over the road we (my partner) decided to make our way back (mostly due to my partner bringing clothing suitable for a summer's day in Egypt). New receptionist, we liked him he gave us gin and ice - there is an ice machine but it was broken no hassle to get it though. Delighted to see our t.v was fixed and we were in time to watch Bullseye. After fighting back the fatigue we gave in, bed was very comfortable to sleep in ;) Woke up fresh as a daisy (one that's been eaten and regurgitated by a cat - gin's fault). Dragged ourselves down to breakfast, very happy with the selection, I pretty much ate everything - sure sign of a hangover. Breakfast is just in the lobby but it is very clean and tidy, you may want to take a pair of beige chinos otherwise you will stick out like a sore thumb with all the golfers knocking about. After feeling sorry for myself for gorging - food tasted lovely by the way- we checked out with another very friendly receptionist who was kind enough to look after our bag whilst we played on the beach. All in all a lovely, clean, friendly place to visit - great value for money too. I must apologise to all the staff at this hotel as we do intended on returning but with three children in tow this time, sorry in advance. Collapse

We booked 9 months in advance for 2 nights were given 2 lovely rooms. daughter with kids in one room and hubby and I further along . At breakfast we were told daughter and kids would have to move room as it was booked for the Bride and Groom whose wedding we were attending. Daughter and male staff member carried all their clothes etc.[daughter and 16 year old granddaughter embarrassed by this] to new room this ! NO! We went for a walk around Hoylake which was good then returned to hotel but couldn't enter our room as key had expired and needed re booted by this time it was 1.30pm the room had not been cleaned or towels replaced we didn't complain but continued to get showered and dressed for the wedding, then housekeeping came to do the room. I had to send her away as we were in the middle of getting dressed. I must stress this was not her fault as she thought the room was vacant. All in all a stressful stay .I emailed the hotel on our return home and got an apology but this should not have happened. We've stayed in many hotels but for us this was our worst experience .
