The room was big and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. Not too many amenities, not a place for entertainment, but a very good answer to the guest's need to spend the night near the airport. Collapse

When we were left stranded by TAP (crap airline), we found a friendly voice at the end of the phone when we called this Holiday Inn Express at midnight. Two rooms were available and a short taxi ride later we were installed and able to calm down. A great room, really comfortable. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed the breakfast that is included in the rate. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to come here, it's great. Collapse

This hotel is no where near the airport. The airport itself is confusing enough to first timers, never mind looking for the hotel shuttle. There is no phone you can use in the airport to call the hotel for pickup so I had to use my own cell which we all know charges an arm and leg for roaming. The pick up point is at Aerobus station #1 which came very quickly after the call. And make sure to reserve your shuttle going back to the airport as it can fill up quickly. There is no bottle water in the room but there is a vending machine at the lobby. And only shower gel/shampoo in the washroom. Overall, it was good enough for a few hours sleep. Collapse

Stayed one night while transiting from Sofia to Toronto. IHG Gold member. Decided to book here because I knew it was close to the airport and I had stayed once before many years ago. The good: The team at this hotel get it. They understand the idiosyncrasies of an airport hotel and the guests who stay there. I have nothing but huge compliments for them. Every one of them. My flight was late from CDG. On arrival, I called the hotel because there was at least 200 people in the taxi line. Not a problem. Shuttle was sent and was there in 10 minutes. A 5-minute ride to the hotel ( €5 = great value ) and being checked-in. The front desk explained all the hotel amenities and I was in my room 5 minutes later. I asked for a late check-out the next day and because they weren't full, no problem. 2pm without question. The room was very nicely appointed. All the usual amenities, with a-c that I could control. Amazing. The double bed has fresh white linen and the bathroom had plenty of towels, all thick and fresh and lagre size. Very nice. The internet speed was great. Tremendous in fact and as an IHG Rewards member I had it for free. The bathroom was ample, not too small with a shower over the bath. Water pressure was excellent and the temperature was plenty warm. The next morning I awoke to head down for the breakfast. A really good selection and one of the best I have seen at the many Holiday Inn Express I stay at. Great muesli, lots of different breads, fresh fruit, the usual European meat and cheeses. Juices and the coffee was strong. All in all it was a really good breakfast and ample seating for the busy periods. On leaving, after checking out at 2, I booked the shuttle for 3pm. At about 2.30, I was offered to be taken right away. And by 2.45 I was entering the terminal. After a nice chat with the staff who took me. But none of this matters if the sleep quality is no good. And in my case, the sleep quality was the best I had had in weeks. Such a quiet neighbourhood. The not so good: To be honest there is nothing I can think off. Perhaps a personal dislike of mine only and that is those containers of shampoo and liquid soap in the bathrooms. But as I said, that is a personal dislike and I understand why they do it. In those circumstances I always have my own soap and shampoo anyway. But that's it. Summary: This hotels just gets it. They understand the needs of a transit traveller and they deliver it with professionalism and friendliness but in a really nice casual way. As a traveller in transit, there is already anxiety and you want everything to work and go well and this place did it. They could not do enough to help. Everything was explained more than adequately including airport info. And the staff were all smiling and happy and joking with each other, you can see this is a very happy team ( obviously this place is very well managed ) and as a guest, I really appreciated it. The hotel is as good as any HIE and if you are transiting through LIS, this is the only place to stay as far as I am concerned. Even if you're visiting Lisbon for a few days, and don't want to pay the exorbitant rates of the downtown hotels, it's easy to get downtown and you can stay here for a very reasonable rate. Would I recommend? TOTALLY Would I stay again? TOTALLY, the place is awesome. On the taxi issue from another reviewer, I suggest you take the hotel shuttle. One of the reasons the taxis get so grumpy, you have to remember they have probably been sitting at the airport waiting for a fare for an hour or longer and then to only get an €8-10 fare, it annoys them. I know, it's part of the territory you say...... but it's a fact.... put yourselves in their shoes..... just take the hotel shuttle.... they come and get you, they're friendly and you get taken straight to the hotel, 5 minutes and you're there Collapse

We stayed here beginning of the year for one night. We arrived from the airport and couldn't easily locate the shuttle service, so we took a taxi to the hotel. For 2 persons the price for the taxi is almost the same as the shuttle. The personnel was very friendly and the lobby makes a good impression. We got a room on the top floor. The room itself is pretty basic and a bit outdated, but clean and comfortable. I think the problem with most properties in Portugal is that they do not have heating. It was bloody cold outside, and so was it inside the room too. We didn't find any possibility to heat the room. The breakfast is as usual in HI Express hotels included; its pretty basic but has everything you need. Overall a very good and economical choice for a one night airport layover in Lisbon! Collapse
