Stayed one night while transiting from Sofia to Toronto. IHG Gold member. Decided to book here because I knew it was close to the airport and I had stayed once before many years ago. The good: The team at this hotel get it. They understand the idiosyncrasies of an airport hotel and the guests who stay there. I have nothing but huge compliments for them. Every one of them. My flight was late from CDG. On arrival, I called the hotel because there was at least 200 people in the taxi line. Not a problem. Shuttle was sent and was there in 10 minutes. A 5-minute ride to the hotel ( €5 = great value ) and being checked-in. The front desk explained all the hotel amenities and I was in my room 5 minutes later. I asked for a late check-out the next day and because they weren't full, no problem. 2pm without question. The room was very nicely appointed. All the usual amenities, with a-c that I could control. Amazing. The double bed has fresh white linen and the bathroom had plenty of towels, all thick and fresh and lagre size. Very nice. The internet speed was great. Tremendous in fact and as an IHG Rewards member I had it for free. The bathroom was ample, not too small with a shower over the bath. Water pressure was excellent and the temperature was plenty warm. The next morning I awoke to head down for the breakfast. A really good selection and one of the best I have seen at the many Holiday Inn Express I stay at. Great muesli, lots of different breads, fresh fruit, the usual European meat and cheeses. Juices and the coffee was strong. All in all it was a really good breakfast and ample seating for the busy periods. On leaving, after checking out at 2, I booked the shuttle for 3pm. At about 2.30, I was offered to be taken right away. And by 2.45 I was entering the terminal. After a nice chat with the staff who took me. But none of this matters if the sleep quality is no good. And in my case, the sleep quality was the best I had had in weeks. Such a quiet neighbourhood. The not so good: To be honest there is nothing I can think off. Perhaps a personal dislike of mine only and that is those containers of shampoo and liquid soap in the bathrooms. But as I said, that is a personal dislike and I understand why they do it. In those circumstances I always have my own soap and shampoo anyway. But that's it. Summary: This hotels just gets it. They understand the needs of a transit traveller and they deliver it with professionalism and friendliness but in a really nice casual way. As a traveller in transit, there is already anxiety and you want everything to work and go well and this place did it. They could not do enough to help. Everything was explained more than adequately including airport info. And the staff were all smiling and happy and joking with each other, you can see this is a very happy team ( obviously this place is very well managed ) and as a guest, I really appreciated it. The hotel is as good as any HIE and if you are transiting through LIS, this is the only place to stay as far as I am concerned. Even if you're visiting Lisbon for a few days, and don't want to pay the exorbitant rates of the downtown hotels, it's easy to get downtown and you can stay here for a very reasonable rate. Would I recommend? TOTALLY Would I stay again? TOTALLY, the place is awesome. On the taxi issue from another reviewer, I suggest you take the hotel shuttle. One of the reasons the taxis get so grumpy, you have to remember they have probably been sitting at the airport waiting for a fare for an hour or longer and then to only get an €8-10 fare, it annoys them. I know, it's part of the territory you say...... but it's a fact.... put yourselves in their shoes..... just take the hotel shuttle.... they come and get you, they're friendly and you get taken straight to the hotel, 5 minutes and you're there Collapse

We were in a long line at the airport to get taxi and were told which taxi to take when it was our turn had only a minute to get in the car. Asked how much to hotel and he said $16 Euros no meter Showed us a chart. Next morning the hotel called us a taxi for the airport at 3:30 AM in the morning. The fare was $9 Beware!!! Collapse

Rental car return is next to Taxi stands. Taxi queue at Lisbon airport is gigantic long line. Maybe 30 minute wait but hotel is short 5 minute taxi drive - not walkable however. Check-in and check-out seemlessly done. Very small bar, but nice service from check-in personnel a few feet from connected bar counter. Rates competitive including free breakfast of modest quality. There is no local nearby restaurant. Hotel does offer dinner menu but has very limited facilites. It is not really a restaurant but a breakfast room with a cook in the back kitchen with few items on menu. Rooms large and comfortable as facility is reasonably new. Small 4 Euro shuttle bus charge to be dropped off at airport terminals - takes 5 minutes but runs every 30 minute schedule. This hotel does book out with large tour groups so breakfast room is busy and slow. Collapse

On my return trip to the states I had to go through Barcelona and an overnight stay in Lisboa (if I understood correctly from the locals, the Andorra airport has been under renovation/construction for some time). The Holiday Inn as the choice for the hotel was purely for practical purposes. I tried getting a room at previous properties I had stayed at but they were full. Not much to write about and also no complaints. I arrived at midnight in Lisboa and it was raining and for some reason there seemed to be a shortage of taxis at the airport. The line to wait for one snaked around for a quite a length and it was just a sad story to tell here. Once I got to the hotel I probably must have spent 6 ½ hours at the most at the property, 30 minutes of that was check-in check-out and waiting for the taxi to return to the airport. I know the bed was comfortable and hopefully you are not staying for more than two days. The room had a small closet in the most impractical set up. Not much else that I could write of. Collapse

This is a very average airport hotel. Room was small but clean. Staff were very friendly. We could not find any restaurants in the area, so we ate at the hotel. Food quality was not very good and overpriced. We waited twenty minutes before we were acknowledged because of a large group in the restaurant. The beer was very overpriced. Next time we're in Lisbon, we'll try another hotel with more amenities around it. Collapse
