What a great experience this stay was for us. From the time we called for directions from LAX to the time we checked out we were treated with such professionalism from all the employees (with a smile at all times). The front desk crew (all shifts), the housekeeping crew and the breakfast ladies were all so nice and cordial. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. All of the amenities met/exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express location! Collapse

It's all about location, and this hotel has an enviable one between the Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Boulevard. The hotel itself needs a bit of an upgrade, the rooms are dated but functional as are the bathrooms. Our suite had a sink, microwave and coffee maker in it which was useful. Breakfast is included, there's an excellent selection available which is eaten off and with disposable tableware. I can see why they do it, but I didn't really like that, and it's most certainly not environmentally friendly. Getting a seat at breakfast in a room that is in no way big enough for the capacity of the hotel is a free for all. Two lovely ladies do their best to make sure everyone gets a table and to move people on but the first morning we went down it was pandemonium! Day two we took our food laden paper plates up to our suite to eat ... ah! now the disposable tableware makes sense ;-) Staff were helpful, rooms were clean, location is excellent. Don't expect luxury and you won't be disappointed. Great affordable option in the heart of Hollywood Collapse

Standard hotel which was spotless, comfortable and convenient. Walking distance to Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd. You can see the Hollywood sign as you walk back to the hotel up Highland Ave. Great location to base yourself to see all the main attractions of LA. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included but it was basic... enough to get you going for the day. Didn't use the pool facility but looked very clean and inviting. As for for our room we had a double queen room with 5 guests. It was a little cramped but we managed. The main thing it was very clean and well maintained. The room had air conditioning which helped. The hotel offers on-site valet car parking for $20 which was very convenient. There is also a small cluster of shops across the road with a subway restaurant, pizza place, pharmacy and convenient store. Very handy. Additionally the hotel has is own little shop to buy basics if needed. Overall a great little place stay in Hollywood. Highly recommend. Collapse

On June 17, 2017 my family and I checked into the holiday inn express Hollywood walk of fame. We checked in for two nights. On June 18th we went to universal studios. After spending the whole day at theme park with our children, ages 6 and 9 we returned to our hotel. We went to bed to get a good nights rest because we were going out to do tourist activities the following day. This was my wife and children's first time in Hollywood. I had fallen asleep. My wife woke me up around 11:30 pm and told me someone opened our door, but the locking latch in the middle of the door caught it, she told me they opened the door and messed with the door for a few seconds and closed the door. She was scared, we did not know how or why someone would be able to get access to be able to use their key to open our door. She called the front desk. The gentleman working the desk walked around our floor and said he did not see anyone. We still could not fall asleep, it was horrifying to have someone open our door in the middle of the night. I was ready to leave the hotel, we packed up everything. We were going to Disneyland on the 19th. I told my wife we would drive to Anaheim and get a hotel there, and just spend an extra day in Anaheim. We called the front desk and he offered to move us rooms and waive the fee for that nights stay. We decided to move rooms. In the middle night we had to wake our children up and move rooms. We did not fall asleep until close to 3:30am because of the problem. The next day we were told that a guest got confused on their room number and went to our room. The guest claimed our door was open and that the key did not open it. We had the latch locked. When they told us this I went to the room and checked if you can lock the latch with the door slightly opened. The door can not be latched with the lock if it is opened at all. Therefore, I do not see how this happened. The latch is what stopped this person from fully entering in our room. The person at the front desk told us she had no reason not to believe the other person and gave me 5,000 points for the I've never had a worse experience during a hotel stay in my life. To have someone try to enter my room while I was sleeping was horrific. If we had not had the door latch shut who knows what would have happened, I had my wife and two young children in the room. I complained, I have not heard anything back from hotel management. I spoke with guest relations this morning, they said the manager responded to the inquiry and closed the case. In his response he told guest relations it was an elderly woman. That's weird, because they showed me who the lady was when I was in the lobby checking out, and she was younger than me and I'm 36. I have not heard anything from management. I would never stay in this hotel again. Collapse
