Couple + 10 month old baby, arrived November 26th. Check-In : Harmony is very nice and service oriented, check in was fast and pleasant. Room : We were upgraded to a closer room to the elevator and breakfast room, this was very useful and was easy to all. Bath and the room are very old-fashioned, the carpet is little smelly. House keeping does not throw away used shampoos and in the end of your stay you left with a stock of empty shampoos, every day they added more soap bars (total 5! ). House keeping decided to teach me how to use the shower curtain since the floor always stayed wet and split it in 2 and left the outside on the door, I wonder if she found better way to bath a 10 month old baby with closed curtain when one is in and the other on another. They don't remove lamps and don't move the TV to vacuum or dust. You can find shampoo, lotion and conditioner by Bath and Body works and hair dryer. Breakfast: All is very express as they brand it, most of the items are machine ready, pancakes, juice, coffee from machine. On hot menu you can find bacon and scrambled egg, biscuits and sausage souce on one day and turkey/pork patties with cheese omelette on the other. The fruits verity is same every day, apple, banana and orange. You can find 2 sorts of milk, some dairy products and boiled eggs in a small fridge. The lady working in the dining room is very polite and nice, she is always smiling and welcoming. Check out : Was very fast, we had 7$ beverages that the hotel gave them complimentary. Location : of you looking for just few days around Hollywood the location is good, just 5 min walking from walk of fame. If you looking to stay for other locations it's best to get different location. Collapse

Very nice and comfortable stay near the Walk of Fame. We got an upgrade to a suite and the room, bed, bathroom were wonderful. Parking was easy and reasonable compared to other nearby hotels. Just wished if they had a water fountain and all day coffee/tea in the lobby like most Holiday Inn Expresses. The breakfast was very good and the staff very helpful. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again when in LA. Collapse
Great staff!!! Great location!

I travel a lot if you cannot tell by all of the reviews. I try to be positive and leave good reviews. Sometimes that is not the case, other times it is easy to do so. In this case Maria was by far one of the best front desk people I have seen. Why? She asked the right questions as she wanted to make sure that I had the appropriate (I am assuming) and a good experience. I am a Spire level member and I am sure that buys some good will, but I genuinely feel she cared. When she found out that I was traveling with my daughter and a friend, she put us in a VERY nice room as an upgrade. It was great! The hotel itself is a little quirky, busy, and in a great spot. The experience was very good and I would stay here anytime I am in the area. Collapse

Located a 5 minute walk from Hollywood blvd and the Walk of Fame is this great example of a Holiday Inn Express. It has its own pool, a good size parking lot and the valet is excellent. For $22 a day the valet/concierge looks after your car and keys and you get a ticket receipt. When you first arrive there are a few spaces where you can park for up to ten minutes while you unload your luggage, very handy! The walls are all painted and decorated with famous movie stars and scenes. Nice touch! The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a small shop round the corner from reception also containing an ATM and there are a few sofas and a TV in the lobby. Rooms are a good size and some have views overlooking down towards Hollywood blvd. Rooms are quiet and a good size. If you are above floor 5 you will need to get off at 5 and find the 'B' elevator that services the top three floors. The restaurant is on the 4th floor alongside the pool. I would highly recommend this hotel for any stay in LA. It is also very close to entrance 9B of the 101 Hollywood Freeway. Also heading North up Highland Ave you can also reach Mulholland Drive and Runyon Canyon (small parking lot on Desmond Estates Rd) very quickly. There is a small shopping plaza just down Highland at the intersection with Franklin Ave just a 1 minute walk from the Hotel if you need a Starbucks fix before/after your day in Hollywood. The Chinese Theatre and Movie Star homes tours are all within easy walking distance so you can leave your car at the hotel which is a perfect base for a Hollywood visit! Collapse

After making my booking online, I emailed the hotel to make some additional enquiries for my stay. I emailed 5 times and have not yet received a response. I used the online chat service (I am in South Africa and phoning was not really an option), they told me to contact the hotel directly. Upon checking-in the first lady (Hermon, I think) to help me was pleasant, friendly and helpful, even suggesting the best way to get to certain locations and finally addressing the queries from my email(s). She was lovely. There was also a gentleman at the front desk who was unpleasant and gave me the impression that I was inconveniencing him when I went to the front desk to make enquiries (I had to consult with him about 3 times). The room I had been assigned had a window that looked out onto a wall and received no natural light, this should have been noted at time of booking - so that I could have made a different room booking choice. The kind lady at the front desk helped me to move to a different room, of the same price. The dinner/room service options are confusing, expensive and not ideal. Breakfast is basic, but adequate. The room and bathroom was otherwise clean, neat and tidy. Collapse
