Recently stopped here for business. Apart from being excellent rooms and free Wi-fi I would recommend anyone to stay here looking for an evening or few days out in Grimsby. All the staff are very friendly and helpful in particular Kristina and Chelsea. Kristina suggested we visit the American Smoke House Bar around the corner for value for money. What a place, staff sort what we were looking for. End of the day, lovely evening and recommend a visit be business or pleasure Collapse

Stayed here last week on business and I'd read the reviews about parking issues so was hoping that I'd manage to get a space for my car which is my pride and joy. I didn't because I arrived just before 9 and then I encountered quite an observation however I think I should talk about the good parts of the hotel first. Rooms lovely and spacious with a lovely comfy bed. Very clean and modern bathroom with massive shower and a very special heated mirror that doesn't steam up after you'd been in the shower (loved that). You do get a little noise from the corridor from doors opening and closing but it didn't disturb me during the night, only the morning. The hotel is quite busy with contractors and at 7am, the car park that was full is half empty so lots of AM activity and the daily 6:30am train right next to the hotel but not too noticeable. Staff were lovely and helpful and a special mention to Kristina who helped me with the the issue I will discuss below and was very friendly and welcoming as were all the staff. I had breakfast at 7:00 and 7:15 on the mornings I was there and there were plenty of tables and a great selection of breakfast items including some fruit and pastries and hot selection. Loved the fresh buns to have a bacon roll in the AM and the fact there were take away cups and grab and go bags if you needed to grab brekkie on the hoof. So on to my parking experience when I arrived.... Had to park in the street opposite to get checked in and then I headed to my room to contemplate where I was going to park. Kristina had confirmed that parking in the street and indeed the car park behind was free till 8am and as my room faced the rear, I looked out the back to see where I could put my car. As I was checking this out at 9pm, I saw 2 dark clothed people on bikes heading towards a parked car looking suspicious. They were obscured from my view over the other side and shortly before they headed off on their bikes, one of them ran around the other side of the car. Thinking it was suspicious, I headed out to look at the car park and move my car but I noticed the hazard warning lights flashing on in the car that they had been running around. I checked it out and the individuals had smashed the rear window in and there was a Hilti tool box and chisel lying on the ground. Called the police and reported it and checked whether the hotel might have had the Reg as Kristjna had taken mine down even though I wasn't in the car park. Turned out it wasn't a guests car and was driven away early AM as the police came at 1am and it was gone. So having seen this happen there was no way I was leaving my car in there so decided to leave it on the street outside the Indian albeit aware another reviewer had said their car had been damaged on the street. Also there seems to some other reviews of cars being broken into in the public car park behind. Anyhow, I'm really pleased to report my car was fine in the street and the second night it was in the hotel car park but I was more than happy to pay the £6. Seems to be that you need to be there between 5-7 to get a space in the hotel car park and I can confirm this was the case as on my second night it was full by 7pm. I'd have to say then that there are opportunist thieves around (just like most places). In the case of this break in there was clearly things left out on view; park your car with nothing on show or you're tempting fate!!! I'll most likely be back next month. Collapse

Nicely appointed room , comfy bed , excellent shower & good housekeeping as well . Probably the best budget stay in Grimsby . Interestingly they’re very laid back when it comes to security . Reception was empty most times we came & left . Also the breakfast area is mostly unstaffed in the morn & nobody asks your room number so if you’re confident enough to walk in off the street at breakfast time , past the empty reception ........... My sister, niece, her friend and I stayed in a family room on Saturday for one night. It was extremely easy to find as it is next to the train station. Checking in was quick and easy too. Our room was very nice and clean. Although it accommodated 4 people using a sofa bed it was rather cramped providing little space to move. Lovely bathroom and shower. They do not offer much by way of food in the evening but there are a number of places nearby..the Indian opposite was really nice. My sister and I didn't find the bed that comfortable and I actually woke up with a back ache. We would have also liked it if the windows could open, but maybe it's a safety issue. Breakfast choices were good quality. The usual full English and cereal, pastries and yogurts. They kept running low of items and we discovered that they were short-staffed. God bless Becca who kept it together when so many people kept asking questions about missing sausages and the apple juice! She was the only one there and did an amazing job. A member of staff from reception came to clear dishes when he wasn't busy. They also kept our bags so we could travel to Cleethorpes, such a nice gesture. It's a small, cosy hotel with really nice local staff who know the area well. Nice relaxing lounge area with a bar which is where we waited for our train. Would recommend. Collapse
