We checked in to the Holiday inn Express to break our return journey from the Maldives. We took the free shuttle to and from the airport, which runs every 30 minutes. The check in was very speedy and efficient. Our room was surprisingly large with two single beds, very clean and well equipped. The bathroom was very well laid out and had both natural lighting and blue Lighting ( ideal if you need the toilet during the night ) The beds were extremely comfortable, as were the pillows. The staff were most friendly and efficient. We had a complimentary breakfast which provided a surprisingly large array of dishes , both for a Continental or English Breakfast. On our arrival night, the nightclub had been taken over by a private party and we were very worried about the possibility of a disturbed night both from the music and from noisy guests returning to their rooms - but we were pleasantly surprised on both accounts as our room was very well insulated against noise so we heard nothing. Thank you Holiday Inn for a lovely stay Collapse

We booked the hotel for our first night in Dubai as our flight did not land until after 11pm and it was better value than paying to sleep in an expensive hotel. Can't fault the place. Reception was very friendly and helpful at just after midnight. The room was sufficient for our needs. A good shower and breakfast the next morning. Lots of choices at breakfast and a reasonable cup of coffee. The shuttle bus took a while, but we were unlucky with the times. It is not signed but the staff in the airport over directions. Collapse
Remarkably Terrible Experience!! Trying to forget the 6 days I stayed there with 2 Families.

My Ordeal and Tips for Travelers:- I was there in Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport Hotel from Nov-6 to 12th with two Families and we stayed in 2 Double and 2 Twin Rooms. We drove around UAE in our own Car. Coming to the Hotel, i.e, finding the way, even with a GPS was tough. The smartly-dressed Receptionists seemed to be overwhelmed by the big crowds (reason: budget hotel & near airport) approaching their Desk and some lost their cool in between. On 11th midnight, I came back to the Hotel with my family including children aged 7, 4 and 1 & HALF , to take rest, and we found ourselves locked out of our two rooms. My kids were sleeping in the Car and so I had to slowly drag them from basement parking to our Room. Either key/smart cards were not working. I quickly went down to the Reception and spoke to one member of staff, Mr.GAUTHAM , and learned that by mistake, they have cancelled our 2 rooms. They took 35 minutes to sort this out and my small kids, wife and nanny had to literally sleep on the Dirty Carpet Floor all this time. The CCTV footage will show how long exactly. At the Reception desk, I was asking them to hurry as my things were inside the Room and my family were completely exhausted. Finally, they said "as a good-will", they did not remove our Suitcases and keep them outside and "out of good-will", they will allow us to sleep one more night as all the rooms are booked - as if the Hotel was over-booked. I don't really know what went wrong but the behaviour of that Staff was not befitting a Hospitality Staff. The very next day, I vacated the Hotel as I had enough with this terrible ordeal. I don't usually get upset or react very often but this was too much. I had taken a few photographs and will try to take a photo of the Bill I paid as proof. The Rooms where we stayed were crampy, very small for families, unclean, toilets were only 1-star compliant, complimentary toileteries were given only if you ask for it, sometimes our calls to house-keeping staff will not be attended (especially late night, and I don't blame them for it, maybe the message is not relayed from the Reception or maybe they have shortage of staff), and they could improve a bit with the Free Breakfast. While checking-out, one member of staff, Mr.Thalini, apologized for the experiences I have gone through and I had shown him the photos I am going to post here. Who cares !!.......nobody......and not the Hotel !! These days, Only business and Generating more revenue is in their mind.......the golden age of rich hospitality has gone past us. Hope this write-up helps you all in taking an informed decision. And I sincerely hope that the Hotel management will take appropriate action so that such incidents will not happen again. Have a safe journey - all present & future travelers ! :) Collapse

We booked the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport as an overnight 'refresher' between flights. Following the courtesy mini bus to the hotel, the check in was efficient even at 1am. The room allocated to us was good - spotless, large room, quiet, comfortable bed, tea/coffee making facilities, good bathroom/shower. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of food and a spacious restaurant. All in all an excellent stay over. Would stay again. Collapse

Checking in was easy. Wonderful buffet and bar. Up to the expectations for a budget stay near airport. Was picked up from the air port also by the hotel. Only worry was why they could not come up with an access card when I locked myself outside of the room with no access card and no shoes. Some weird hotel policy. I had to wake up my colleague and collected it. Wondering what I would have done if I were alone! Collapse
