My family met in Dubai for vacation. We live in different countries, so my flight home was in the evening, and my parents flight was the next day in the early morning. We stayed in a different hotel for most of our trip, but for our final evening, I booked this hotel for my parents so that they could rest and be close to the airport for their early flight. Our plan was to check them in the evening before, say our goodbyes, and then my significant other and I would leave for the airport to catch our own flight home. The Front Desk staff treated us completely disgustingly over this situation. We arrived at the hotel at 6 pm. Our flight was at 10 pm. I tried to check my parents in and and explained the situation to the front desk man. He insisted that we could not go up to our room with my parents. He then demanded to know why we were trying to cheat the hotel by making a two person reservation, and showing up as four. I kept telling him that we were going to leave within the hour, and he insisted that any person who goes up to the room, visitor or not, was counted as a guest and had to have their ID scanned and pay accordingly. Otherwise, if my significant other and I didn't want to be counted as guests, we could say our goodbyes in the common area of the hotel only. I was shocked by how we were treated and my mom was very distressed. My advice is this: hotels in Dubai are cheap and plentiful. We stayed in a lovely four star hotel for most of our trip next to the Mall of the Emirates for only a few dollars more per night than this place. Traffic in Dubai can be bad, but we were there during a peak time (National Day long weekend) and it wasn't too unbearable, certainly not compared to most US cities. Taxis are unbelievably cheap, and if you're really worried about time, you can always take the equally cheap metro straight to the airport from most parts of the city. In sum, stay where you want, and just taxi or metro to the airport. Don't bother with this dingy, horrible little hotel. The convenience is not worth the terrible experience. As a side note, you'll want to arrive at the airport with about 3 hours to spare. Collapse

The hotel itself is OK however a very disappointing handling of the fire alarm at 1:30 am. I am actually happy that the alarms work ..... however, the focus in reception was to continue booking in new arrivals; security had no idea what was going on. It took two visits to reception to get anybody to react when they found a security guy to wander down and check out the situation. I dread to think what would happen if there was a real fire. I certainly will NOT be staying there again. A disappointing experience and not something I have witnessed at other Holiday Inn or Express hotels. Collapse

Only for some hours of sleep I did try to stay at the Hotel, but that was not so easy. The cost free shuttle service at the airport was not easy to find, just wait and see the bus will come somehow. The check in took a long time, desk was busy, lot of guests from the side, a rugby club, and not really fast or preferred check in. To save time i did check out at the same time, that was the beyt of the entire stay and Hotel check out! Room was okay as well as breakfast, shuttle service did work but very busy! Not again, sorry there are other options.... Collapse

Travelled solo business female in Nov 2016. Mini bus arrived at hotel courtesy bus stop in five mins (they run every half hour). Staff on desk helpful re transport into city centre. Clean quiet hotel. In sight of airport but too tricky to walk. Getting into city easy too. If you don't want to take a cab it's a 7 min walk out the front of the hotel to the nearest metro stop. International buffet evening meal welcome and easy going after a long day of work. Collapse

We visited November 2016 , 4 adults and 2 rooms with 3 nights each, for our Dubai vacation trip. Booked this hotel via IHG , and found an excellent in terms of proximity to the airport. Hotel is just opposite to Terminal 3 , and provides an excellent 24*7 shuttle to/from airport-allowing you to save lot of money and above all peace of mind. Hotel is 5 minutes walking distance to the nearest "Emirates"metro station , which is an excellent stuff- considering your connectivity to the city and all other Dubai attractions- which are very far away from airport/hotel. We took a Day metro pass to travel and commute. Hotel Breakfast is excellent and professional- and a wide array of choices. CONS: 1. We booked rooms with double bed, but were provided standard room- that too with a scary feeling, when at the welcome , receptionist said- hotel is over booked and they have shortage of rooms. ( You don't expect this after travelling through half the globe , tired - and just to discover- room you booked is gone). Though we were lucky to get rooms- though standard, not as confirmed earlier :-( 2. Pathetic Room service - we went Desert Safari on our 1st night, which transported some unintended Sand from our Boots to the hotel room. We expected the room to be clean the NEXT day, but to our disappointment- there was no Vaccum cleaning done and Room was just left with Sheets changed and towels replaced. No Floor vacume was done , elaving room untidy and not clean- Disappointed a lot. 3.Poor Amneties - There was no Iron in the room, only 1 power charging point causing inconvenience . NO Toiletries, and not much good ambience. Small Room Sizes, with no microwave- which we found all across in holiday in express across the world. 4. Poor maintenance - Refrigerator was not working, with racks broken , and Room keys always used to get de-magnetized. 5. Not a Resort/Relaxing hotel- Hotel lacks Swimming pool, Spa and not an excellent spot to relax. It's perfect when- plans are just to spend a night or 2 with Day in dubai city . Last but not the least, we didn't find Drinking water supply in cafeteria - may be a general problem in UAE - but will agree, Hotel location is good , with a nice breakfast and an excellent Shuttle service to airport.
