Just stayed the one night on our way home from Manchester. The room was very nice, very clean and modern, but the air-conditioning was extremely noisy so we had to turn it off, even though we had high temps. We had a small balcony, opening the door was also very noisy as we were on a main road, but it did get quieter later on in the night. We found the food to be very expensive for what we had, and the breakfast not very appealing. Also the breakfast area was very messy from earlier on, and no milk had been topped up, so we had to ask. The staff were nice and friendly though. We would not stay in an express Holiday inn again. Collapse

Wow I stay in Holiday Inn' s all the time and it takes me quite a lot to make me feel that I have post this but this place is far from the normal standards that I expected in a Holiday Inn. The entrance to the hotel is dirty including the entrance carpet. After checking in to room 309 I took the elevator to my floor and was welcomed by a elevator that was dirty with what looked like cigarette ends on the floor which where still their the next morning. This was not looking good. Well when I got to my room I was already starting to feel a little uneasy. Well by bed cover was stained in a few places and the paint work marked. This has to be the worst Holiday Inn I have stayed at. I would at this point like to say almost all Holiday Inn hotels I have stayed at are top notch and this is a exception. Collapse

On our way south to Spain, we had prebooked an accessible room at this hotel. Imagine our horror on arrival to fu d our room had been given to someone else. After a wait and a fair bit of hassle the hotel got us booked into another place a good distance away which we found to be very good, in fact a much better choice. When I complained to holiday inn they paid for our stay at the other hotel. While I appreciate the solution to this problem, double booking a room for a disabled visitor is unprofessional behaviour of the worst kind and totally unacceptable as it can be very very difficult to get an accessible room at short notice due to many visitors without a real need booking these rooms. Myself and my partner have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years. Unfortunately during this time we have seen the standards slip. We stayed on our most recent visit over the weekend. On arrival everything was fine, we got a quiet room at the rear of the hotel which was clean and well equipped. The car park as others have said is a bit tight but if you have a medium sized car you will not have any issues. The issues started when we arrived at the bar expecting to get a few pints and some food. Unfortunately both draft lagers were off and only a small collection of bottled beer and flavoured ciders where available due to issue with their supplier. I would normally except this as a excuse but we received the same excuse on our last stay for lack of bar supplies. Due to lack of available supplies and no available menu we decided to eat and drink at another local competitor. Later we returned to the hotel and decided to have another drink or two before going to our room for the night. For the bottle of flavoured cider I asked for ice in the glass and was advised by the member of staff she would try but the ice machine was playing up. This got worse later when they advised other customers the only mixers left where lemonade and soda water and they where basically told if you can't see it behind the bar we aint got it. (Note to the management: When in the bar there was a large party of 20 customers who I'm sure would have stayed for more than one drink if you had a full offering. It's a shame you are missing out on this revenue) The hotel also has a nice patio beside the bar. On previous visits the hotel had tables and chairs in this area but on this occasion the area was empty which is a shame. Me and my partner had a good night's sleep and breakfast was the usual express offering and was of good quality. I would stay here again if the hotel can sort out the issues with their supplier and sort out the small issues like the broken ice machine. Collapse
