Don't be fooled by the name !!!!!

This hotel is not in downtown at all!!!! It's in Deira a totally different part of town. Also, very old & tired interiors. Would definitely recommend you find other alternatives. Only choose if proximity to the metro is your criteria

I traveled to Dubai from 11th to 15th November 2016 and booked my Dubai package through Yatra.com. We were 11 passengers (8 Adults and 3 Children) and Yatra gave us 4 double occupancy rooms in Hotel Holiday Inn Downtown in Dubai. This hotel is the worstest hotel I've ever been to. I've traveled a lot but never been to this kind of terrible hotel. This trip was a nightmare for me and my family. The hotel calls itself a 4 star hotel but I would not give it 1 star also. The rooms are so bad, all 4 rooms smelled, the cupboards were broken, the rooms were stinking, the washrooms basin and bathtub was broken, the washroom was not cleaned since ages, the tiles broken, the jet spray, taps were rusted. The dustbin in the washrooms were broken. The bedsheet, mattress, towels were smelly. There were cockroaches in the room and fungus on the wall. One of our child fell sick and 1 adult got skin infection and we had to spend 1000 Dirhams on the hospital treatment. Our rooms were on the 4th floor, when we complaint to Yatra about this, they said they cannot do anything about this as this is the hotel option which they had and till date there were no complaints about this hotel and they said we should complain to the hotel senior staff and Yatra was not at all helpful. So do not book your package through Yatra, they fool customers. We paid our hard-earned money and booked this package for 11 passengers costing Rs. 429000/- (Rs. 39000 per passenger for flight, visa, hotel stay and airport transfer). This trip was a very bad experience. We had two senior citizens and 3 children with us and because of the hotel room our trip was a nightmare. When we complaint about this to the Hotel senior staff, we were told they will upgrade our rooms to the 7th floor, we went and inspected the 7th floor rooms but the condition of the rooms on the 7th floor was same as the 4th floor rooms where we were staying as there also the rooms were smelly and washroom fittings broken. We wanted a clean room and not a floor wise upgrade for a good view. Least we expected was a clean room. But the entire hotel was in the same condition. So we stayed in the same 4th floor room. This hotel is not at all a Holiday Inn property chain, please do not go by the Hotel brand name and do not book packages through Yatra as they will not help you. We were told they cannot do anything as the hotel booked by them was non-refundable. Who asked them to book a non-refundable hotel, we were not informed before booking a non refundable hotel. Yatra and Holiday Inn Downtown, Dubai cheated us. It was a terrible experience. We only know how we have spent 5 days in this terrible hotel. Our trip was spoilt and our money wasted because of Yatra.com. People who booked our package at Yatra are Pritam Das and Shekhar Chaudhary who fooled us by booking this cheap hotel for us and were arrogant and not helpful at all. Collapse

Always cheerful and eager to be helpful. The same can be said of the other staff, whether they be on the travel desk or room service. The hotel itself could use a renovation as it is looking dated and shabby, but still reasonably clean. Collapse

I just stayed at this hotel this past week for two days and was very disappointed. This may have been a four star hotel in the distant past, but it is no longer. It appears that very little maintenance is being done. When we arrived, the thermostat in our room did not work. The air conditioning was either all on or all off. I pointed this out immediately (it was night time) and they sent a maintenance person to look at it. He said it had to be replaced and would be replaced the next day. We slept with the a/c all on and the room was very cold, but it was impossibly hot with the a/c off. The next day we went on a day tour of the city and did not arrive back at the hotel until almost 10:00 PM. The thermostat had not been replaced. I asked again to have it changed, but was told it could not happen until the next day. The next day we left the hotel at 9:00 AM and returned at 2:00 PM. The thermostat had not been replaced. As we were leaving that night on a plane at 11:30 PM, I asked if we could have late checkout and was told the only way to have late checkout was to pay for another days charge. So, we had to sit in the hotel lobby from 2:00 PM until we left for the airport at 8:00 PM. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel. Collapse
