Spent 4 nights here on points - as previous reviews have alluded to, the hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment, which management are working on with the owners. I was upgraded as an IHG Gold (which is rare) to a club room on the 7th floor, and the room was nice and spacious, with everything working as it should. No noise concerns. Staff throughout are excellent and I do feel for them as they're working with below-par infrastructure. Each staff member - to a T - was helpful and quick to go above and beyond if something was needed. Whilst the Deira area of Dubai that the hotel is situated in is far from the glitzy promenades of Jumeirah or the DIFC, it's actually very well located. In 10 minutes a direct metro, at the foot of the hotel, takes you either to the airport or to downtown Dubai (e.g. the DIFC) which makes it a good location for business as well. Overall i'd probably stay in this hotel again if on a functional, 'out most of the day' trip. There's definitely room for improvement, but the staff and location make up for it. Collapse

We stayed in this hotel for one night as of it's close distance to the airport. I will mention the positive points first: Close to the airport (10min-14dirham), metro station al Rigga is 1min walking distance away. Very nice street with shops, restaurants, money exchanger 1min away. Al Ghurair Shopping Mall can be reached walking in 15min. the location was perfect for us. We were welcomed friendly, got a refreshing drink and the check in took around 20 min ( meanwhile we checked the sports bar- its is good). Went to the room, first impression was good. Wardrobe, water cattle, water bottles, fresh linens were supplied. The room smelled fresh (no cigarette smell) Now the BUTs: The washroom very old and bad maintained.Below the sink a big brown gathering of "water"? The bathing tub was broken ( will attach pictures). The hairdryer cable had fungus growing on the cable ( picture attached). The tiles tell stories... etc. We asked for a wake up call at 5.30 a.m. as we had to catch our flight but they sadly forgot to wake us up. So please set your own alarm as we did. You might need an adapter to use electronics unless you use 3pins. We had very talkative and loud neighbors and had only a few hours to get some sleep. We decided to switch on the TV so we stopped hearing everything from next door. All in all this hotel is value for money, paid 33 EUR per person per Night. I would visit again but only for one night. Idea: Visit Juice World, all fresh juices for a reasonable price and also snacks are available there. The presentation of the fruits are unique ( 2min walking distance) Collapse

I had 4 days staying in Dubai and I stayed here. Not a bad hotel, close to the airport and close to the Metro which is about 100m from the hotel making it easy to get around. For me I found the hotel very clean and the staff very mannerly and pleasant. My only fault I have with the hotel is the breakfast, the hot food tended to be on the not so hot side, something that maybe should be looked at. Otherwise I would recommend staying here to anyone. I certainly would stay here again if I return to Dubai. Collapse

I traveled to Dubai from 11th to 15th November 2016 and booked my Dubai package through Yatra.com. We were 11 passengers (8 Adults and 3 Children) and Yatra gave us 4 double occupancy rooms in Hotel Holiday Inn Downtown in Dubai. This hotel is the worstest hotel I've ever been to. I've traveled a lot but never been to this kind of terrible hotel. This trip was a nightmare for me and my family. The hotel calls itself a 4 star hotel but I would not give it 1 star also. The rooms are so bad, all 4 rooms smelled, the cupboards were broken, the rooms were stinking, the washrooms basin and bathtub was broken, the washroom was not cleaned since ages, the tiles broken, the jet spray, taps were rusted. The dustbin in the washrooms were broken. The bedsheet, mattress, towels were smelly. There were cockroaches in the room and fungus on the wall. One of our child fell sick and 1 adult got skin infection and we had to spend 1000 Dirhams on the hospital treatment. Our rooms were on the 4th floor, when we complaint to Yatra about this, they said they cannot do anything about this as this is the hotel option which they had and till date there were no complaints about this hotel and they said we should complain to the hotel senior staff and Yatra was not at all helpful. So do not book your package through Yatra, they fool customers. We paid our hard-earned money and booked this package for 11 passengers costing Rs. 429000/- (Rs. 39000 per passenger for flight, visa, hotel stay and airport transfer). This trip was a very bad experience. We had two senior citizens and 3 children with us and because of the hotel room our trip was a nightmare. When we complaint about this to the Hotel senior staff, we were told they will upgrade our rooms to the 7th floor, we went and inspected the 7th floor rooms but the condition of the rooms on the 7th floor was same as the 4th floor rooms where we were staying as there also the rooms were smelly and washroom fittings broken. We wanted a clean room and not a floor wise upgrade for a good view. Least we expected was a clean room. But the entire hotel was in the same condition. So we stayed in the same 4th floor room. This hotel is not at all a Holiday Inn property chain, please do not go by the Hotel brand name and do not book packages through Yatra as they will not help you. We were told they cannot do anything as the hotel booked by them was non-refundable. Who asked them to book a non-refundable hotel, we were not informed before booking a non refundable hotel. Yatra and Holiday Inn Downtown, Dubai cheated us. It was a terrible experience. We only know how we have spent 5 days in this terrible hotel. Our trip was spoilt and our money wasted because of Yatra.com. People who booked our package at Yatra are Pritam Das and Shekhar Chaudhary who fooled us by booking this cheap hotel for us and were arrogant and not helpful at all. Collapse
