Stayed here for a work trip. The downstairs of the hotel was ok. There's a bar and a pool table. On check-in I asked to change rooms as I was alone and had been given a ground floor room (some hotels have a policy of not giving ground floor rooms to lone females). When I arrived at my room, there was a pile of dirty towels and some dirty glasses in front of the door. I knocked before entering, and the room seemed empty, but I called down to reception to check. I was told that food/bev hadn't walked the floor - surely the cleaner should have taken the towels?! I ordered room service, but my menu was out of date! Luckily the person who answered was helpful. I ordered a Caesar salad with the dressing on the side, but my salad arrived soaked in dressing, so I barely ate any of it. Didn't sleep great as could hear slamming doors and talking in the hallway. We booked a room here last minute as we ended up staying over night after a wedding and we weren't intending to. We had an Executive room which was very spacious and had a comfy double bed. We got back from the wedding about 12:30am and the bar is open 24 hours so we had some post wedding drinks. The prices were really reasonable as well and they sold mini bottles of really nice prosecco in white and pink. The staff were lovely and really helpful. The check out time isn't until 12pm either which is great when you're nursing a hangover! Collapse

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel, which is a great location off the M4 and close enough to Cardiff City Centre and other local places of interest. The hotel has great amenities even though we did not use many of them. The staff were really friendly and helpful at all times, and nothing was too much bother. The room we had was lovely and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. If you happen to need a hotel in this area I highly recommend you use it. Collapse

This is a busy hotel and can be overly stretch but the staff do their best and in general things are well delivered. Rooms are generally uniform with a few "executive rooms". Personally I preferred the standard rooms. Parking can be a bit of a challenge during busy times but I never failed completely to find a stop. Just takes a bit of searching. Reception can be variable with new staff appearing from time to time but in general they are pleasant and helpful. The standard rooms mainly have en-suite shower rooms, a few having baths with showers over. Towels are of good quality and quantity. Toiletries amount to some soap and shower gel dispensers. The beds are large doubles (two singles pushed together) and comfortable. Pillows are fine and no unnecessary cushions litter the bed The room lights can be controlled from one side of the bed but not the other. The flat screen TV shows Freeview channels and there is tea/coffee making facilities. No biscuits! Room lighting is fine when all the bulbs are working but an issue when they are not. Many of the rooms at the rear get none or little natural light. While there is a wardrobe and a cupboard , there are no drawers for keeping ones smalls in so one has to use the shelves of the wardrobe. Wifi is a pain if you are there for more than a day as there is a need to re-register and to do so for every device. Fortunately the mobile signal is typically 4G+ so the local infrastructure avoids many delays. Elsewhere in the hotel is a (very) heated swimming pool. It's like swimming in a bath. There is a small gym, sauna and steam room. Breakfast is a buffet affair with a good selection of cereals, fruits, fruit juices, breads, cakes and viennisarie though the croissants are small. Hot food is the usual sausages, rashers, beans, eggs, scrambled eggs and black pudding. there are also cold meats. Most tastes are catered for and coffee is served at the table. Staff in this area are very helpful and hard working. The bar is ok but they often run out of stock so could do with a bit more management. Overall it is a good place and I was happy to stay there many times. Collapse
