1st time staying in a Holiday Inn and must admit I'm suitably impressed. Stayed for a week courtesy of my employer so had ample time to enjoy the facilities. Staff behind bar/dinner/breakfast were excellent. Really friendly young ladies who were a credit to the place. Gentleman who looks after breakfast was great too. Would definitely stay here again, 5***** Collapse

Wasn’t sure what this would be like as it was located so near to the m4. Was expecting nothing better than travellodge standard but how wrong could I be. The staff were really friendly and the rooms were lovely. There was no noise from the motorway and the hotel was really comfortable and I would stay again. The dinner restaurant was a little limited but the breakfast was lovely. Would recommend as a convenient hotel if visiting Cardiff that is not as expensive as in the centre. Collapse

I stayed here in January when visiting Caerphilly. The hotel itself is rather new inside and has a good quality interior, modern shower and quiet rooms. What really sets this place apart from The Village over the (rather large) road is the staff, who are all marvellous. Unfortunately I didn't get all of of their names but: Shane was terrific on check in, friendly and welcoming. A real asset to the hotel and the IHG group. Molly was great in the restaurant with really helpful food recommendations and tip-top service. Tracey Evans was lovely with a follow up call after my stay. I will most definitely be staying at this Holiday Inn again in the future when visiting South Wales. 10/10 Collapse

Booked an Executive Room via IHG's website directly for a couple of nights. Having gone to the room upon arrival I immediately realised that it wasn't an Executive Room at all - just a standard room. I went back downstairs to mention this to reception to be told "Sorry about that, we haven't got any of those rooms. I'll make sure the price gets reduced'. I commented that I felt this was a bit wrong and the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said "Sorry, nothing I can do about it". I find it hard to believe that booking a room via their main website and not a third party one can throw up this sort of error. On top of this, someone tried to order drinks on my room number and it was only because I overheard him saying my number that I intervened and got them to void the charge. The staff are disinterested and the hotel is expensive for the standard I'd expect for paying nearly £140 quid a night. All they wanted to discuss between themselves was how hungover they were and how they were overworked. Surely they must realise that customers can hear these conversations! Overpriced for the quality of the place. The equivalent nightly cost of a nearby Premier Inn was £55. I wish I'd saved my money and stayed there. The experience here has put me off paying extra money for what I thought was superior customer service and quality. Sorry IHG but this place has let you down. Massively. Collapse

Booked through booking.com. Arrived to join my husband and room allocated was very cold, smelt dreadfully of damp, evidence of mold at window and not particularly clean. Had 2 nights. First night quite noisy, breakfast & service ok but very limited but second breakfast simply did not happen! What was there was lukewarm and stale looking, baguette was rock hard when cut. Asked for fresh bacon which I was informed chef was doing- 20 mins later no fresh bacon & rather rude manager- short of cooking it myself there's not much I can do! It was busy -but it's a hotel who know how many are booked in. Requested newspaper both days- Saturday paper did not arrive so was given an alternative- had we wanted that one we would have ordered it! Room key required re programming twice and health spa ( well pool area) key needed programming 3 times. Eventually got in- no towels available so back to room again- eventually gave up. Came back sat evening and had hot drink before going to bed and the beer dispensers were being cleaned with a glass of soda water which went from one tap to the next without being changed. Apparently it's easier than taking the nozzles off! Chose H I as thought little better than premier inn- sadly not the case. Very very dissaponting e perience Collapse
