Second visit to this hotel, first time was good this time even better. Monday night the four of us (two couples) ate in the bar, the food as good as the restaurant but a bit more relaxed. Us two men had ribs and fries, very tasty with plenty of meat, my wife had fish in a chilly oil which she said was delicious, her cousin who is a vegetarian had a four cheese pizza as good as you could get anywhere. My wife and I slept really well the bed was massive and really comfortable, our friends where in total agreement. Tuesday was bright but cold, four excellent breakfasts later we did a bit of sightseeing in Calais then back to the hotel as we fancied a swim lovely warm indoor pool. Both wives had booked a relaxing massage earlier with a very friendly gentleman who was the supervisor. Brilliant was the verdict. Dinner this night in the restaurant, lamb and apricot tazzine for me, massive really fresh salad for the vegi fillet steak for her hubby and my wife went for the set menu, butternut squash soup duck and a dessert all really really good.We found the staff all very friendly and polite which made for an excellent break. We would certainly recommend this hotel to any body and would stay here again without hesitation Collapse

Very friendly lady on arrival. Room was nice and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was chaos. Every table had dirty plates and crockery on them.No tables had been cleared and staff were busy talking to each other. Had to move a table ourselves to get a space and then try and find clean plates from other tables. There were no glasses for juice. Staff didn't seem bothered by the fact that the place was a total shambles. Collapse

Located really close to Le Shuttle and Cite Europe. Loads of free parking. Very friendly staff. The hotel is being renovated and apart from slight dust on carpets, it's absolutely fine. The rooms are nice, clearly freshly renovated and have a great shower / bathroom and comfortable beds. Our air con was not working and as the room was very hot, I opened the window which helped greatly. If you are travelling with a dog, it's a €10 per night charge for each four legged friend. The restaurant is poor. The buffet style cooked breakfast is astonishingly poor. The rest of the breakfast offerings are standard fare. We also ate in and if the chef thinks that's what lamb tagine tastes like well that explains a lot. Pity the restaurant is so bad- we will stay here again and maybe try the bar food next time. Another great night in my favourite hotel. This time I was handicapped by a knee injury which was noticed by the staff who did everything they could to make things easy for me, e.g. carrying my luggage to my room and back to the car at the end of my stay. As usual I booked an Executive Room and, for the first time, was allocated a refurbished room (this hotel is gradually being refurbished). The room was definitely brighter and more pleasant than before, bed still very comfortable and new bathroom fittings a delight. The UK style 3-pin electric socket over the desk is nice touch for those (not me!) who arrive in France unprepared. Evening meal in the restaurant to the usual high standard with good choice of dishes to suit all tastes and good choice of wines to match (for the solo traveller plenty of half-bottles on the wine list). Service was, as usual, polite and timely by knowledgeable staff (who speak English if required), presentation of the food to the high standard I have come to expect at this hotel. I took breakfast in my room which, again, was to the usual high standard and served exactly at the time I had requested. Once again, overall a great stay. Lovely place for a stopover when travelling as I do from the East Midlands to the Charente via the Channel Tunnel or Calais ferries. Collapse

I had read the reviews prior to staying at this hotel and they seemed quite good. After a very pushy and pretty rude waitress had gave us the menu we wanted we ordered food. I went for the "Thai beef salad" for a starter, duck with potatoes and vegetables with a pepper sauce for my main and a creme brûlée for desert. After quite a wait my colleague received his starter and the waitress asked did I order the soup for my starter which I replied no, so had to wait further for my starter. When it arrived it was a massive bowl of iceberg lettuce with corn, tomatoes cucumber, and what I can only describe as dog sick, I might add that Thai food is my favourite and I can cook it very well myself. The "Thai beef" did not have one single element of Thai food in. The main was my duck which was virtually impossible to cut with a knife, I had to pick it up and chew it...it was vile. The saving grace was the creme brûlée which was decent at best. Overall it was a disgraceful meal. After I left the starter completely the waitress asked didn't I like it? I said no it was bad, after I left most of my main she just pulled a face, after I said the desert was nice she walked away and cheered sarcastically. I will never ever eat there again. If you choose this place for food maybe go for the bar food it surely can't be worse than the restaurant. Collapse
