Today I came to the hotel at around 4:20 pm and ordered a masala tea which took more than 20 minutes to deliver and when I gave my card to pay the bill they swiped two times and money deducted for both times. I show my message to the gentleman who serviced ( prajeesh)I informed MOD cjanet may be my spell is not correct rather than solving the issue he made it worse and again he asked for cash which I gave again. Really untrained staffs Prajeesh is a poor guy I don't know why he was left alone if he was not well trained, first when I arrived no one was at cafe counter then security called prajeesh and then he took my order. I was charged three times for a masala tea. Regards, Amar Collapse

We were a party of 4 and booked 2 double rooms. pros: We were slightly apprehensive after reading some reviews. However our worries were allayed and found the staff were excellent, everyone from housekeeping, front desk, concierge to waiting staff in the restaurant. The concierge brought in our bags, took them up to our rooms, and dealt with all travel enquiries. Thank you to the waiters Rakesh and Ganesh, who were polite and very welcoming. They work so hard and are a credit to Holiday Inn Bur Dubai! Also special mention to Sushil the chef, who couldn't do enough to make our dining experience wonderful. If we didn't like something from the buffet for dinner, then he made something a la carte. They all catered to our needs. See photographs of food attached. The rooms were of a good standard. We didn't think they were dated as some other reviews mentioned - they're very classic in design with jacquard fabrics for the upholstery etc. The mini bar prices are quite expensive, but we requested that housekeeping remove the mini bar (which was done straight away) and we bought our own drinks from the supermarket across the road, which was much cheaper. The hotel always replenished the water, tea and coffee in hotel room. The rooms were cleaned everyday, with new toiletries, fresh towels and made the beds. The Bur Juman station locality was very good and you could pretty much go on the Metro all over Dubai. The shuttle bus to the beach was also great, and there's a shuttle to the Dubai Outlet Mall. These weren't mentioned when we checked in, but we'd read other reviews and that's why we managed to utilise them. Cons: There are a couple of nightclubs at the property, and even though we were in the quietest part of the hotel, we could still hear the noise from it. At times I had to sleep with earplugs in, as I'm a light sleeper. The club wasn't open everyday, so on some nights I was able to sleep peacefully. Also when we checked in at 2pm, our rooms weren't ready, even though I'd informed them before arriving at hotel. There was also a musty smell from the drain in the bathroom. Sometimes it wasn't too bad, but at times quite potent. We didn't bother raising this with hotel as we didn't think they could do much about it and didn't want to move rooms as we'd already settled in. Lastly, there were a lot of people from India, some were quite rude and lacked basic etiquette and manners. They took our tables at breakfast when we were already sitting down and pushed in front of the queues, pushed past us on the lifts etc. This was not appreciated whatsoever by my elderly parents and slightly spoilt an almost perfect experience at Holiday Inn Bur Dubai. Overall great hotel, and the only reason it's a very good hotel was because of excellent staff! Everyone was very helpful and there's a personal touch which is second to none! Collapse

We went to this hotel for 1 night but I was ill in night after leaving Thailand the hotel staff were so kind and helpful letting us stay over 3 extra nights gettin me to hospital etc , always ringing room and asking me how I was I can't fault them in that way, the breakfast were amazing they had everything you could think off , very impressed and about 15 mins to airport , nice pool but not enough seating so it was always full , I had booked a quiet room , was given 257 but we could hear the disco from 9 to early hours but with ear plugs couldn't hear , it had slight damp smell , I was too ill to worry about moving rooms , big room with sofa and coffee table nice bathroom only thing lacking was a fridge , wifi at times a bit slow , beds were quite comfy , would recommend for short stay over Collapse
