Stayed at the Hotel for a couple of nights in January. The hotel staff are very pleasant and attentive. Food is ok with nothing too spectacular. Typical Holiday Inn food across the country for those of you who stay in the group regularly. The rooms are very tired especially in the bathroom even though I had an IHG upgrade. Internet works in the Hotel in all areas. Outside parking is not an issue even though I drive a large car and had a trailer with me. Not much more to to say except a pleasant stay with no drama's Collapse

If you wait we can make you a sandwich. No I have to go to work Holiday Inn diet. Collapse

Let me start off with a positive - the staff who run the restaurant for breakfast, were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you. And now for the rest of my review..... :( So we arrived late in the evening after a long drive, to be greeted by groups of people smoking and drinking outside the entrance, with cigarette stubs and half empty glasses outside. We had to wrestle our way to reception, where the chap on reception was pleasant enough but I couldn't hear him over the music. Bits and bobs of drinking people milling around, and some of these were later wandering down the corridor outside our room - and we could hear them clearly because the walls are thin. There was more of the same the following evening. The room itself was clean enough (apart from the cigarette ash on the window sill) but dated and the bedding had seen better days (a 4 inch hole in the duvet cover, which itself was a good foot too long for the duvet on our bed and tucked under the mattress). There was an empty fridge and the room could've done with extras such as a hair dryer. I sound incredibly picky but I'm not a serial negative reviewer and there were other annoyances, on top of which was a mix up regarding part of our booking which neither the booking agent not the hotel wants to take responsibility for, which made things uncomfortable for us. Given the price in comparison to places like Premier Inn and our overall experience, we would not stay here again :( Collapse

After a hectic day with family it was nice to book in here to get some "away" time, We had a family room 244 with a double bed and a sofa bed + cot there was still plenty of room for us all to move around. There was a funky smell when we first got into the room but we soon became nose blind to this. As we have a 4 year old and a 5 month old we opted for room service for dinner as it was included in our rate - the rib eye steak was superb and really hot considering the distance from the kitchen to our room, the child meal was a disaster though with them getting it wrong and then having to wait another 20 mins on top of the half hour already! Although when it did arrive she stuffed it down so it must have been good. The staff are great and so helpful, the Xbox in the lobby is a nice touch as was the amount of xmas trees. The pool was nice and warm and the hot tub was a lovely treat - really clean to. I would stay here again with family. Collapse

Stayed here on two sets of nights during a house move whilst the packing team were in and boxes were piling up everywhere. My Mum has memory problems and the staff were beyond helpful, looking out for her on the day the move took place and I had to leave the hotel for a few hours to oversee the physical move. They were very proactive; Kelley, Pascale and Jade all deserve a mention. The food was good (fish and chips Friday offer was very good value) on the nights we decided to eat in. The rooms were clean, the car park spacious and the I really liked the indoor pool. The only downside - and it's a legacy of its age from when it was the Forte Post House some 30 years ago - is that the noise insulation between rooms isn't great. Collapse
