Visited here for work, decor and rooms are dated but clean. I was in king room and needed to decide whether I wanted to have mobile plugged in by bed or be able to turn lights out as you could only do one or the other from each side of the bed! Still had old round 3 pin plugs in the room. Staff eager to please. Reasonable breakfast. Would return - you know what you are getting. Collapse

We had our wedding at this hotel in The Cloisters suite and cannot praise it highly enough. As soon as we set foot in The Cloisters we knew it would be perfect for us and we were right. The venue, the food, the service, everything was spot on. Ourselves and our guests had a brilliant day and we can't recommend this venue highly enough. Special thanks to Emma for all her hard work organising our wedding and her patience with our numerous enquiries and requests. And to Libby for making sure the day ran smoothly and couldn't have gone better for ourselves or our guests. Our room was spacious, clean and tidy. My only gripe is that because my wife stayed the nigh before our wedding, we had to re-check into our room because it was under different names. Collapse

I and my husband stayed one week at the hotel because we had to go to the wedding of our niece (by the way the wedding reception was inside the hotel on Friday evening). Marriage is lasted one week because rich daily functions so we really needed a good night sleep as every day we were coming back to sleep 3 am n waking up again at 7am. Rest and sleep didn't happen at all! Hotel was full of drunk people banging doors and walls all night and making a mess everywhere! We complained to the Reception and they tried to sorted out but problem was always there, no sleep and not rest at all! To apologise when we did the check out they refund 40 pounds to us that's is ridiculous comparing to all the time we spent there! We will never go back there again and also the others 30 guests were in hotel for the wedding with us! We really suggest you to take actions because that place doesn't look a hotel at all but just a night club!!! Collapse

We were in Bolton for a conference. The hotel is limited on parking space but we managed to get one plus there is a lift from the basement to reception. My room was on the fourth floor and was clearly a family room - a double bed, single bed, 2 seater settee, separate chair and normal dressing table chair - very spacious. Could do with a bit of tlc but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Coffee and milk sachets replaced when room cleaned. As normal, shower over a bath but no problem getting in and out of it. The lift was very speedy. The food over the whole weekend was excellent - and the staff were an asset to the hotel - always very helpful. The award ceremony was held in The Cloisters - what a fabulous setting. The hotel has a pool but didn't have time to visit. There is no hairdressing salon, but there is one over the road, Ordinary Hair, and that was a pleasure to visit too. The hotel is very centrally situated, if you like shopping. All in all, I really enjoyed the weekend. Collapse

My wife and I were in town to watch a play at the octagon.Whilst avin our pre-theatre meal, the intention was to drive home after the show, but after deliberating we both decided to stay over.So I phoned the holiday inn who said they had a family room available for£60.00.Well what can I say about the room,WOW,a massive comfortable room with settee two Rm chairs, two showers two hairdryers, the list goes on.Big comfortable bedlovely snuggly bedding, enabling a first class sleep for us both, also thick blacked out curtains.Went in the bar on our return,a wee bit pricey, but hey we're in a hotel. When we go to see a show again ,wouldn't hesitate to book this lovely hotel again, Well done guys keep up the good work you all do, Chris Dooley, Ps They even lent me a phone charger, which I accidentally left in the room, rather than take back to reception, thankyou for a great stay.
