Clean rooms, convenient location, attentive staff and good food. A bit pricey for the quality of rooms. Furniture and building a bit dated. Free parking. Relatively large rooms. Breakfast was excellent (although a bit pricey). Lift was old, and one of them was out of order. Room lighting was too low. Two bulbs did not work and had to be replaced after we complained. Still using incandescent bulbs instead of using low energy ones Collapse

The rooms were very good, clean and well presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was pleasant. We stayed two nights and completely enjoyed our stay without anything adverse. The hotel is in the countryside about two or three miles from Ashford but there is a pub - The Hop Pickers at the hotel and we had a very pleasant pub meal there with a very charming server. There is also a Beefeater under a mile away but on the day we were there they must have been having a bad day as it was not enjoyable. Everything about the hotel was positive for us, the fittings and amenities in the room were good and the room in general was well maintained. Beds were great and sleep quality good. We would stay again. Collapse

Staff at the reception were very helpful, rooms starting now to be in need of a return. Beds very comfortable, lovely clean bedding. Plenty of parking. One of the best Hotels I've stayed in for television channel choice. Full english breakfast dear even with £2 discount, although ingredients were good. Had a meal in the pub in the grounds, nothing special but again nothing to complain about. Would still stay again though as a overnight break on our way to France. Collapse

We have been staying at this hotel for a number of years before and after our trips to France and this is the first year that I have felt disappointed by it. Firstly, one improvement they have made is regards in the in-room entertainment - pretty much all the sky tv channels is great. We booked a family room for our stays and it is of a great size and perfect when you've got two small children. However the hotel itself is looking tired. Furniture seemed rundown, chips out of the wall etc. The toilet in our room was a nightmare to flush and took ages to refill when it did. The hotel wifi isn't the greatest and doesn't really allow for a huge amount of surfing beyond the bog standard stuff. We had breakfast there and there didn't seem like enough staff on to be honest. The staff that were there were working flat out but couldn't keep up with the amount of guests they had to deal with. The breakfast itself wasn't of the standard we've become used to either. My wife used the toilets in the reception area and said they were disgusting and one was blocked, not a good impression to give. Finally, when we stayed there previously we've always been given a couple of glasses of milk for our children to drink prior to the bedtime. This year was the first year we've had to pay for these. I don't mind paying, it just seems strange that they would start charging now for something that was a really thoughtful and nice touch previously. Overall we would consider looking for a different hotel now next time we are in this area for the first time in a number of years. Collapse

The location of this hotel will always mean that it has the tendency to be noisy.Ear plugs are available from reception if you need them. rooms are spacious showers are to die for and all gravity fed a hotel with sky tv inc films in your room amazing sport available in pub and bar phew that was a relief! try the peanut curry out just swap the veggies for chicken but want something different ask and the team will move mountains to help you staff are amazing from management level down and nothing is too much trouble for them. rooms are spotlessly cleaned every day and i should know i stayed here a month on and off from jan to mar 2017. some people will always moan and complain its their nature, but not all of these reviews are justified. its the team at Ashford north that make the experience worthwhile not the bricks and mortar, I cant wait to return !!!!
