We stay here every time we go over to France via eurotunnel. Great vfm. Spacious rooms, good range of SKY TV channels now, lovely staff & good location- all at a very reasonable price. Can't think of staying anywhere else.

Stayed for one night on route to Austria. We were being picked up at hotel and were able to park our car in hotel car park for 8 days at no extra cost. Our room was on mezzanine level in a far corner, it had a musty smell to it on arrival, had to open window to freshen up. Other than that the room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable bed and large bathroom. The only problem was the hairdryer did not work properly (only blew cold air). We had to eat in the bar as they said the restaurant was booked till at least 8:30. The pub next to the hotel was not open so we were unable to eat there. The food in hotel bar was average. This is a nice quiet short stay hotel and would recommend it - but eat elsewhere. Collapse
Terrible stay! Hotel needs to decide between party venue and hotel.

The hotel's one of those ones that looks like it wasn't built as a Holiday Inn but has managed to get a licence to rebrand as one. It's essentially pretty run-down. Signs are made in the back office and the place looks like it's run by someone who really wants to run a hotel but hasn't any experience in doing so. We were checked in by a (lovely - but -) totally untrained member of staff, who had no idea what to do. When I suggested that she might want to get a colleague to help her out, she said that nobody else would be there for 20 minutes... I had to explain the IHG rewards system to her! There was a party going on in the function room which pounded through the hotel. The first room we had was on the first floor, too noisy and vibrated. The second room (after waiting the 20 minutes for a manager to appear) was less bass-y but noisier since the window didn't shut properly and the room was nearly above the function room's smoker area. The third room was directly above the epicentre of the party. The lady who showed us in to the third room was exasperated - very nice and wanted to help but couldn't. She was clearly frustrated with not being able to give us a quiet room but gave us breakfast to try to compensate (we didn't have time for breakfast since we were only there for 6 hours to sleep before our Eurotunnel booking). Essentially, for the ~£45 we paid, it would have been a less than luxury place to get our heads down for the night - nothing special but fair for the price. However, with a Christmas party going on, they needed to warn non-party guests that they'd be seriously hampered on their night's sleep. I am gutted that we wasted a night's sleep when we could have stayed in tons of other hotels nearby. We had a long weekend ahead of us (and a long drive behind us) and really needed the sleep! I asked the lady to get a manager to call me which didn't happen. After checking out, I left a review on the IHG site - which was much like the above but was rejected (I wonder why!). I also messaged on their own website to get someone to give me a call which didn't happen - hence my review here. Collapse

Superbreak star ratings are given as a guide to help you choose between our hotels and do not necessarily relate to those awarded by other organisations.
They symbolise the level of service and range of facilities that you can expect at the property; ranging from 1 star - hotels with the simplest range of facilities, to five stars - luxury hotels with a wider range of facilities.
Please note that different countries have different standards and star ratings may differ according to the country where the hotel is located.
