Stayed at the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort for three days on business. Like most of the hotels near Disneyland, this property primarily caters to families on vacation. However, the amenities provided also make this hotel a good stay for business travellers. The HI Anaheim Resort is fairly easy to find from the freeway. Having taken an early flight into SoCal, we arrived at the hotel well before the regular check-in time; the front desk pre-checked us into our rooms and stored our luggage in a side-room until we checked in later that afternoon. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful; with many hotel guests, the front desk was busy most of the time during our stay. There was a computer center near the front desk with two computers; also near the front desk was a gift shop with snacks, beverages, some OTC medicines, and souvenirs. My guest room on the 8th floor facing west. The room was medium sized; climate control was an under-window AC/heating unit with a wall mounted thermostat. From the front door, the bathroom was immediately to the left; a short narrow hallway straight ahead led to the main room area. In the hallway was the closet with wooden french-style doors. Inside the closet, a coated wire frame shelf unit was installed. There was no hangar rod; the wooden hangars hung from the wire frame shelf. Also in the closet was an iron and full size ironing board, as well as a small wall safe for protecting valuables. The main room area was furnished with a fabric upholstered reading chair with ottoman and a tall reading lamp behind the chair. A Keurig single cup coffee maker sat atop a small beverage center, along with a small microwave, and a medium size fridge below that. Near the reading chair was a king-size bed with four long pillows, each about half the mattress width. The mattress was firm but felt good. Nightstands on either side of the bed had CFL lamps with one AC outlet. There were two extra AC outlets on edge of headboard near each nightstand. Across from the bed was a 2 section desk; the top section was a platform mounted to the wall, and the bottom section was a pull out desk on casters. The CFL bulb desk lamp had 2 AC outlets and a toggle switch with two brightness settings. The wifi service had good speed w 12 Mb down and up. Next to the desk was a small bench seat and medium length mirror mounted above it. A flat screen TV sat atop a chest of three drawers next to the mirror. The bathroom was large, with plenty of towels, a hair dryer, shampoo, etc. The shower was not a tub or glass walled type; it was an "L" shaped gym-style shower that you walk into. White tiles and dark gray grout added to the high-school gym feel of the shower. The shower head had settings for spray, massage, and various combinations. The hotel has a restaurant and bar onsite, called Burger Theory, which is open for breakfast and dinner. The dining room has tables and booths; at breakfast, you can order from a menu or go with the breakfast buffet. At dinner, there is a bar area that is open in addition to the dining room. The bar serves wine, spirits, bottled beer and beer on tap. The dinner menu offers burgers, flatbread, and other entree items. Burger Theory is not open for lunch, but there is a counter in front of the restaurant where a limited lunch menu is available as take out. More focused on vacationing families, the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort can also serve the needs of business travellers. 'Will definitely add this hotel to my preferred list. Collapse

First I’ll start with the pros: affordable, close to Disney, nice size rooms, shuttle to Disney, & free parking! Cons: No bathtub, at least in our room so if you have a little kid that sucks, housekeeping didn’t come for two days until I called so no clean towels, they have false advertising saying free breakfast for kids but I get here and it’s for kids 5 and under! The restaurant is a bit expensive and food isn’t that good, the hotel is in a awkward location (not their fault) but you have to drive all the way around and back on the highway to get to a gas station or a restaurant, nothing is close! They’re on a one way street. Walls are thin so I heard my neighbors most of the night, shuttle cost 5 for adults and 2 for children, Beds were only full size not queens, & Lastly when I first checked in I paid for my room before hand and when I got a here they required a deposit which was fine but the man at the desk just took my card swiped it hit ok and then told me it was a deposit I would get back! How about you tell me first, ask me if I want to use that card or another and let me accept it myself! Overall, it was a decent hotel if you want something affordable and close to Disney. I’ve stayed at better holiday inns. Collapse

This Holiday Inn in conveniently located close (though not really walking distance) to the Disneyland Resort, the Anaheim Convention Center, Angels Stadium, and the Honda Center. It's right off I-5, so those traveling by car will find it very convenient. Parking is complimentary and plentiful, even late at night after a long day at the theme parks. There is also an ART bus stop located right outside the hotel - perfect for those choosing to use public transportation to get around. We arrived a little before check-in time, and woman at the front desk offered to upgrade us to a larger room so we didn't have to wait. The room had a king bed in one room and bunk beds in another room (though we didn't need them since it was just 2 of us). The room looked quite worn around the edges, literally. The door frames, the carpet, the edges of the doors themselves, all looked pretty beat up and in need of some TLC. The room was spacious enough for the 2 of us, and the bed was comfortable. The decor, as nice as it was to have some Disney art on the wall, seemed to be an afterthought and just thrown together. Our biggest issue with our stay was on our 2nd night. After a very long day at Disneyland, we returned late that evening. Weary-eyed and tired, I stumbled into the bathroom to get ready for bed. I turned on the bathroom light, only to be startled by a very large roach scurrying across the bathroom floor. It was too quick for us to catch and eventually squeezed itself in a space between the wall and carpet baseboard. We called the front desk to report the "intruder," and they sent someone up from maintenance. Once maintenance arrived, he said it was likely a waterbug and offered to spray in the area where it was last seen and around the AC unit (which, apparently is what attracts them). The roach/waterbug incident put a bit of a damper on our experience at this hotel, so we likely won't be returning here in the future. Collapse
