We enjoyed staying here with my three kids. It was a little tight with the 2 beds but we knew that coming into it. The location is just off of Katella, which for those of you familiar with the Resort area is a main road leading to Disneyland. However, it's on a one way street so leaving in the morning to the park usually meant driving through suburban areas of Anaheim. I have been the Disneyland a lot and am pretty good at navigating around but could see how this might be a harder location for some. It's about 1.5 away from main gate so I don't recommend walking it unless you are kidless. We didn't use the Anaheim shuttle but it seemed like a regular stop with a kiosk to purchase tickets right on the side of the hotel. There were a good deal of business people at the hotel due to the brand and available meeting space. This meant we had less kids running around crazy but also made my kids stand out a little more. The one complaint was during check in when, a clearly under trained associate was working the desk with a line of about 5 people. Another, more senior looking associate kept coming out to check something in the drawers but did not offer to help anyone in line. I waited to check in for about 10 minutes. It was at time and I think it was a transitional shift but the gentleman who kept coming in and out, should have taken a few more minutes to help a couple more guests before he left. Collapse
Great hotel! Lackluster buffet

We spent 1 night here and had 2 adjoining rooms. I'm a club-card member so that's why I book with Holiday Inn, and this one is a very nice, extremely clean, hotel. There's really nothing I didn't like about the hotel. Our check-in was very easy, and the front staff was great. I realized when we walked in and saw the Disney characters painted on the wall front and center it was an overnight place for Disneyland visitors - which we weren't: we were headed to a concert at the Honda Center (which was only an 8-minute ride away.) Anyhow, the beds were comfortable enough, carpets were clean, linens were clean, bathrooms were clean, the room was odor-free, and there was a Keurig in the room (nice touch, but the "all-in-one" coffee accessory packet they provide is outdated in that it's the packet which has gross Sweet n Low - I'd rather have Stevia or a couple of more regular sugars, but that's just my preference). We did spend quite a few hours in our room prior to going to the concert, there were 7 of us between the 2 rooms, and it was very comfortable. There didn't appear to be too much parking in front of the hotel, but I Iucked out and got a spot - I'm not sure how it looked behind the hotel. I saw a big Disney bus pulling up outside so I'm assuming it'd be easy to get transportation to and from the park. The two things I didn't love about my stay? 1) The housekeeper knocked on our door at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning, the morning after we got back from our concert on Saturday night. We weren't really up to having visitors yet and I thought this was a little bit too early for a room check. She simply asked if we were checking out or staying ( don't they have lists of who's coming and going?) - we told her we'd be checking out, but not until check-out time. I realize a lot of people are probably up and out of the door early to hit Disneyland, but that was not the purpose of our stay so the door-knock was just too early, and 2) the buffet...ummm, okay if you want to eat quickly and have some nourishment - I understand that and that's exactly what we did - but the potatoes were horrible, cold, hard, no flavor, they looked like croutons and tasted like cardboard, the sausage was okay, it too was only lukewarm to cool. The eggs were good. There is no bacon. There is a small variety of fresh fruit, some yogurts, pancakes (which are nothing special), oatmeal, cereals, and 2 toasters which you can toast your own bread. There is no butter on the buffet, but there is syrup for the pancakes, hmmm? So, if you make toast and want butter, or get pancakes and want butter, you go back to your table and ask for it - but if you like putting butter on your pancakes first I guess you'd have to sit down and ask for butter, then walk back up to the buffet and use the syrup which is stationed up there - kinda weird. The buffet does include your drink, so it's actually probably the most cost-effective way to go - just don't anticipate super-deliciousness and you'll be okay. I would stay here again no problem whatsoever - I'd just probably head out and have breakfast at Denny's instead. Collapse

First off it is close to Disneyland. You probably knew that which is why you are booking it. However you need to take a shuttle from the hotel to the park, and of course the hotel charges you. This hotel is super crowded in the lobby so keep your eye on your belongings and keep an eye on your kids as they can get lost even in a small space. There is no free coffee in the lobby, there are only two clerks at the front desk so the wait to be helped can be long. The Good - (Rooms) Very spacious. Clean. They smell good as well. Beds were comfy, maybe a little outdated. All in all a comfortable no frills place to stay. The Great - (Location) Close to Disneyland, Close to the Freeway. Easy to get to many locations throughout orange and Los Angeles Counties. Why You'd Avoid - Very crowded hotel very busy staff. If you are a platinum member almost no benefit here. No platinum lounge, usually full so no free upgrades, and their gift bag was a bottle of water. All in all if you are going for Disneyland, this is a great place to stay. If hotels are important to you, and getting VIP treatment, there are other choices in the area. Value wise definitely on point and will most likely stay here when I visit again. Collapse
