Initially booked this lovely looking hotel through Travelzoo (which included a food credit for dinner) several months ago as we were visiting the NEC for two days. I received a telephone call two weeks ago from Jessica on the reservations team to inform me that they had mislaid my payment details from Travelzoo and that they needed my credit card details to confirm the booking. I was in a meeting at the time and telephone back later that day where my booking was all confirmed and the payment taken. We turned up at the hotel at approximately 18.30 on Saturday, the car park was full, there was a black tie ball taking place along with a silver wedding party so a busy night. As we approached reception the lady asked my wife our names and when she told her the answer was "sorry we don't have a room for you only a single room left". We were then told that there was a room available in a hotel down the road but that hotel could not fit us into their restaurant for dinner, however they would pay for taxis to get us back and forth the other hotel - it was a shambles and chaos. It was fairly obvious that they wanted us out of the way and Steve the General Manager who appeared quite flustered stated that he had not spoken to the revenue manager so had no idea what had happened with our booking and that this never happens at his hotel. He did ask us if we wanted to go to their sister hotel some 30 minutes away! In the end we left and went to the Forest Hotel to an amazing welcome where Mark the Assistant Manager could not do enough for us. Steve what happened to us was not acceptable and I think you know what you can do with your offer of giving us a good rate if we return - why on earth would we return to a hotel who did not want us in the first place. From my recollection of the Bible I dont think that either Mary or Joseph ever returned to the Inn that turned them away Collapse

We held our company away day at Hogarths Solihull on 5th October 2017. We had 16 people in Music Room 1 which was a lovely bright sunny room opening on to the terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens. The facilities in the room were excellent and the staff were on hand to assist our facilitator set up the projector and sound system. Lunch was very good quality, with a wide selection of hot and cold food - the weather was good so we ate on the terrace. 10 of our party stayed for dinner which was taken in the main restaurant - we opted for a three course set menu which was excellent and enjoyed by all. All courses were served and cleared promptly, and requests for additional items were served without a fuss. The bedrooms were spacious, the beds were very comfortable (too comfortable!) and the bathrooms were spotless with powerful showers and free toiletries. All of the staff were friendly and helpful - nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Special thanks go to Lucy Brown (and Gemma) who patiently helped me to arrange the event and to ensure everything went without a hitch. Excellent day all in all. Thank you! Collapse

This is a great hotel but does specialise in weddings. There is an abundance of video footage, photo albums and photographs all around the hotel. The rooms are bright, clean and tidy. Some overlook the garden area. You can even have fresh milk or ice brought to your room. The brasserie is very bright and has a pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast is freshly cooked to order. No waiting to queue at the hotplates! Plenty of choice. Free parking. Overall we had a very good stay. PS - they do allow dogs to stay. Collapse

We stayed in this excellent hotel for one night on Friday 29th September. It is only six miles from the NEC and Birmingham airport but in a wonderful countryside location. On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming. Our room was spacious with lots of natural light, and we loved the little extra touches like the ice bucket as standard. The views from our room were amazing, and it was nice to have our own little patio area with tables and chairs. The restaurant was light and airy with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent and of a very high standard. The staff were most helpful, particularly Rosie who was very attentive. Great hotel, great friendly atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
