We visited in December 2015 and came back a second time in October 2017. This is a big hotel which is probably the best in the area. We called at the Tivoli on the marina and decided that the Hilton is better although not as well located and not on the beach. The pool area at the Hilton is great and relatively quiet at this time of year. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite which was very spacious and perfect. The bar is great with a large variety of cocktails and gins. My cocktail of this holiday is a strawberry daiquiri which is great in this hotel thanks. I wouldn't particularly recommend the buffet restaurant as it is very similar to a canteen environment although with much better food. I would recommend you dine in town. There is an amazing variety to choose from. Recommend you use the valet parking which is complementary. Collapse
Great resort hotel

This is a perfect hotel for families as well as golfers and beach goers. It shares grounds with a golf course(Pinhal), but they are not affiliated with each other. Shuttles to the beach take less than 10 minutes.

The hotel is lovely, breakfast buffet is faultless, but I would book it in with your stay, as I understand this works out cheaper, Hotel is exceptionally clean. We were upgraded on arrival which was very thoughtful, but we decided to move into an apartment so we paid the extra which amounted to £50 per night, but in our case was worth it, with a young baby. The hotel are very baby friendly, but the pavements around the hotel are not, as soon as we started to push the buggy outside our baby woke up, as she was constantly being jiggled about in the buggy. It may sound ridiculously but it stopped us going out for a walk, and the way the hotel is set out makes it difficult to walk around the grounds. But if this would not bother you, or you have passed the buggy pushing days or they have not arrived yet, you will probably not even notice this. The spa is differently worth a visit, my massage was amazing by Sylvia. Room service excellent, if your a fan of the club sandwich, make sure you have one here. It was probably a lot quieter there the week we stayed, personally I don’t think I would go in peak season as I image around the pool it can feel a bit closed in, this is probably because it does not open up onto a beach, and prior to this holiday I’ve always stayed in a beach front hotel. But I don’t think you will ever leave this hotel disappointed. Collapse

We stayed here for 10 nights in September. We arrived lunch time and was told our room would be available soon, three hours later we were still waiting. Although having asked at Reception a few times they did not inform us when it was ready. The male receptionist seemed to enjoy keeping us waiting. That said this was the only part of our holiday that we were dissatisfied with. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with all the usual toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. If we ran out they were promptly replaced. Housekeeping did a fantastic job. Breakfast was fine, all the usual cooked items and different cheeses, hams and bread. Enough choice to please everyone. We only ate at the hotel a couple of times in the evening and the food was good. We preferred to go into the marina where there were loads of brilliant restaurants and bars. The shuttle bus ran regularly to the Marina and took about 5 minutes. Some people walked and said it only took about 20 minutes. There is a spar shop within 5 minutes walk. Beside the shop is small area where there are a couple of cafes. The first one did the best Pizza's we had ever had and we washed this down with a very cheap glass of wine. Perfect for lunch, although they did open in the evenings as well. The swimming pools were clean and plenty of sunbeds. No one reserved them which is a first. Plenty to go round with plenty of sun shades. I ran out of reading matter whilst there and a lovely lady from the bar went out of her way to find some books which had been left. Quite a few single lads there whilst we were there drinking and having a good time but they were fine. We loved this hotel and the area and will definately return. Collapse
