Absolutely delighted with our stay at this beautiful hotel in June. Staff were all lovely and we didn't find fault with anything. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. The pool view room was lovely with a great bathroom complete with complimentary toiletries replenished daily. Free WiFi and good choice of English tv channels was useful when getting ready to head out in the evening. Breakfast was plentiful, with a great selection of food to cater for all tastes, I even had an omelette made for me by the chef. There is a courtesy coach that pulls up at the door on the hour to take you down to the marina and beach, literally a 5 minute journey to the marina and then 2 more to the beach. It will collect you at the same place 5 or 7 minutes past the hour, except at 1pm when there is no service. In the evening it runs every hour to the marina with the last run at 10pm. Otherwise you'll need a taxi which you get up the side of the Haagen dazs ice cream shop beside forca Portugal shop. The evening buffet at the hotel was nice when we ate there, as was the Cilantro a la carte restaurant in the hotel, we had a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine there and the service and food was excellent. Upon check in you are given towel cards and we found an abundant supply of clean towels each time we went to the pool or the beach. When going to the beach, go to station 2 on the left upon arrival at the beach, it is Hilton's position and you will have all the facilities you need down there. We found everything very well organised and we had no problem getting a bed by the pool or on the beach when we were there from 10th June for a week. We would definitely return as it was a lovely experience. Collapse

Have moved rooms twice since arriving - thanks to Hugo and Dario for sorting us an apartment with a view and some sun. Hilton part of hotel seems tired, the apartments pool area is much nicer in my opinion. Water 4.50 for a litre that is 36c in the shop is silly, it's not even Evian. The prices are high even for a Hilton. Apartments are a great size with all you need, but due to their design you don't really get much sun on them. The pool area is great for families, we are early risers but people seem to reserve loungers and leave them. Overall a good base with a nice pool, and good facilities. The beach is lovely. I would recommend a car to get out and about as the hotel is quite a walk from everywhere and beware if you have a buggy as all of the pavements are cobbled, so not ideal! Staff are all very helpful. Over the past years we have tried to use the Hilton chain for our main holiday as we know that they deliver a consistent standard of accommodation and service. This hotel continues to uphold those standards - the accommodation is comfortable, all the facilities are well maintained and the staff are a credit to the hotel in that they are knowledgeable, pleasant and always helpful. Whilst a short distance away from the centre, the hotel operates a shuttle taking guests to and from the centre, however the last one leaves the centre at around 22.10hrs, so for many couples it's either a short evening or a taxi back. We booked bed and breakfast as we like the opportunity to try the wide range of restaurants in the area, however we would not have been happy had we booked the half board option as the evening menu was very limited and not to our taste. Equally the menu in the A la Carte restaurant which we would normally use looked poor as well. There is also a bar menu which we used a couple of times which was fine but judging by the state of the menus has not changed in a long time. When the hotel is full, the pool areas are very crowded and sun beds and umbrellas need to be secured and occupied early. Quite rightly the area is 'policed' for those that reserve beds but fail to occupy them. There is an adult only pool but this is quickly occupied. One small request - please improve the WiFi. Whichever network you are on , paid or complimentary, it is very flakey, constantly dropping out and needs to be re-acquired every time you use a device which is very frustrating. We have enjoyed our stay and would certainly return on the same board basis. Collapse

Check-in This was quick and efficient and I was greated as a diamond member. We were upgraded to a suite was a nice touch. Rooms The room was great with two bathrooms, lounge and two TVs and a large balcony looking out onto the pool. The room cleaner requires a mention as she was great and the room was spotless everyday. Bar This was a little of a let down as we ordered shariah blue magic gin and tonic and when it was brought to the table it wasn't blue as it should be, so was shariah blue. The waiter said that it was shariah blue, but it clearly wasn't and the bottle was still behind the bar when we left. Poor..... We left the bar without having a drink and never returned. Food The food at hotel was food and the various restraunts served good food. The breakfast service was fast and we were always sat down straight away, but we were there during a quiet time just after half term. I can see queues during busy holiday season. Pool We were always up early, going to the gym then breakfast, so we were by the pool at around 9am. But even at this time people collected towels and the then put them on sun loungers and didn't return for over a hour, thus some people couldnt get a sun lounger. There needs to be pool attendants removing towels if people clearly put them on loungers and then leave them empty. It happened every morning and most mornings by 10:30 the sunloungers were 30% utilised but all taken by towels. Hilton you need to sort this out. Collapse
