The hotel had no record of our booking when we arrived and we had to wait an hour for it to be sorted out with Superbreak which was stressful and not a good start to our break. However the hotel itself was in an excellent location for visiting all of the main attractions and just across the road from the underground train station and CAT Airport line. The staff were very helpful and the choice at breakfast was excellent. We had a wonderful view of StadPark and Stephansdom Catherdral from our room. There was also a good range of gym equipment to allow me to continue my workout routine whilst away. Collapse

Location wise this hotel is great. It's a very large hotel clearly catering for a largely Middle Eastern and Asian clientele. Check in staff were very aloof and unwelcoming. I'm a Hilton Honours gold card member and have used points in 5 different hotels this summer. This was the only hotel that didn't offer an upgrade nor made me feel like a valued loyal customer. The room was rather small with a tiny bathroom - and no toiletries. Had to ring and request some. Every day, despite there being 2 of us, we were left with one tiny bottle of shower gel. On one day the housekeeping staff didn't replenish the towels so once again we had to ring to request some. Surely in a 4* hotel supervisors should be checking the rooms? The bar area is very nice. The bar staff need to be trained on how to make cocktails. Had a mojito that turned out to be the worst I've ever had - a whole plant of mint squashed into the bottle of the glass by a massive ice cube. Really wasn't nice. Whilst the hotel management cannot be held responsible for the behaviour of the guests and their children at breakfast they should provide an adult only section in the breakfast room. There was a Hilton Honours section but the staff didnt check to see who should and shouldn't use it. I didnt enjoy the breakfast experience on any days. The TV selection for English users was a bit weird. Apart from the usual news channels there was the choice of The Travel Channel and Movies for Men. Such a bizarre choice. Again I would have expected there to be more English channels and better movie choices. On the upside the bed was very comfy - would have been nice if they'd changed the sheets during the stay though. I would have given some feedback at check out but I had to wait for 20 minutes and then was dealt with a very miserable lady who seemed solely interested in getting payment from me. Maybe they need to be advised to ask their customers if they've had a nice stay! Collapse

This hotel is not one of the best Hilton hotels, but it is in Vienna ring and next to the train station. Breakfast is very complete and good. The higher the room is, the best views it has. I would consider it a next visit to Vienna.

We just stayed at the Hilton in Vienna. We had 20 hour layover and wanted to explore the city. We took the CAT train from the airport - it took 16 minutes and we were at the station located next to the Hilton. We were able to check our luggage through so we only had carry on. The hotel was nice, room spacious! We were able to walk around and had a great Austrian dinner nearby. Next morning took the CAT back to the airport. Can't think of a more convenient layover! Might have been a top location sometime but not anymore. We booked an executive suite and that gives slightly more breathing room, even though the bathroom is the tiniest ever. Check in was disappointing: 15 minute wait and another 10 minutes checking in even though my reservation was pre-booked as an hhonors member. Convenient car rental agency in house . excellent breakfast. Disappointing executive lounge. Collapse

We had booked to stay at the Hilton Danube months in advance, but were emailed before we left advising that they had decided to book the Hilton Danube to a conference, and were moving us here. They booked us in to two corner rooms, which were big, but very dated. The bathrooms were tiny, and featured showers over the baths, with shower curtains, which is a pet hate of ours. Granted, this is what is shown on the website. The beds however, were really big and very comfortable. The room we were in also had a great view of the city. When we arrived, there is no one to help with your bags, or anyone working at the door at all for that fact. When we got to our room, there was another pull out bed set up in our room. My mum went downstairs to ask that it be taken out, as we had not asked for it, and it was taking up space. The gentleman at the front desk was polite and said he would make sure someone came up to get it. This was at about 11PM. so we were getting ready for bed at the time. When the housekeeping came up to get the bed, they knocked on the door once before letting themselves straight into the room, catching us in our underwear getting changed! We were like what the heck is happening, the guy said something in Austrian, took the bed and left. No clue what he said but we have never known housekeeping to walk straight in like that. This was not the only weird encounter we had with housekeeping, as one lady with pale skin and dark brown/black hair saw my sister coming out of her room one morning, and asked her to go back in and tidy the room up a little before she had to go in and clean it again. This was such a weird comment as our room was not even messy, bar the suitcases laying open in the corner of the room. We were annoyed at our hotel being changed to what we perceived to be a less nice hotel. Despite this, the staff at this hotel were very accommodating of us, and at the end of their day we recognise it was not their fault that the Hilton Danube moved us. The staff offered us a number of options to make up for the change, and so we accepted Club Lounge Access. The Club Lounge was nice and clean, although more vegetarian options in the afternoon would be nice. The cakes were lovely though, and there was a good view from up there. The breakfast staff were very nice and friendly, probably the most friendly wait staff we encountered in Vienna. The food choices were good at breakfast, although we did observe the cheese for the next morning being put out on the bench at 11PM the night before in the club lounge, which we found unhygenic . Location is not too bad, there is a nice park next door, and most sites are a short walk away from here. There are two supermarkets across the road at the trainstation, which also features a number of food outlets and shops such as H&M. The Hop On Hop Off Bus also stops just outside. Another weird thing was that you can not take the things out of the fridge to keep your own drinks or items cold! Once you move a bottle, it automatically charges to your account, leaving only a tiny space to keep your own items cold. pretty annoying! Collapse
