The hotel has perfect location- walking distance to Gamla Stan, city center, central station, city hall etc. In front of the hotel you will find bus-stops and T-banna is 5 minutes walking distance. The rooms are heated via air-conditioning which was a bit cold. During weekdays the hotel was very calm while during weekends was quite busy and there were queues for breakfast. Overall we loved our stay in this wonderful city! Collapse

We booked a weekend break at very short notice after having trip to Munich cancelled by the Lufthansa strike. With very little research I chose the Hilton and I was not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and helpful offering maps etc. Sadly we got a room on the back the hotel but the rooms on the front have a brilliant view of the old town. Considering the metro and the road run under the hotel it is very quiet. The Slussen metro stop is across the road and access to the rest of the city is easy. Collapse

We had an amazing weekend and one main driver was Steve, the night shift manager who helped us with check in after we had delays in trip over. He was extremely kind and helpful, and as it was our anniversary we received some upgrades to celebrate. Room was great, the 4th floor executive bar was fun to go to to relax after a long day of working and breakfast was great and filling prior to long days out again! Highly recommended and great location. We did everything on foot as well as on bike Collapse

We’re a family traveling full-time, mostly staying in hotels and, when possible, in Hilton properties. Being Diamond members we want to share with others in the same situation on the highs and low of the various Hilton properties we stay in. This year 2016, we’ve lived in hotels 100% of the days so far of which 80 or so nights in over 25 different Hilton properties spread across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America. THE SHORT VERSION Surprisingly this was one of the better Hiltons we have stayed at. Surprising because Sweden is not usually luxury prone and good service as well as anything “extra”, to be frank, often lacking or at a very steep additional price. Here however, we received a Diamond upgrade without asking! Always nice. The executive lounge is lovely, it has a beautiful view of the old town, a fireplace, chessboard and nice decor. The food is so, so, but they have drinks and coffee all day. Breakfast in the main buffet is very good, a good selection and lovely fresh bread, Prinskorv (translates to “prince-sausages” and is something like high quality hot dogs but really tiny), good bacon, waffles, everything one could ask for except vegetables and fruit. More healthy stuff at breakfast, please! The rooms are nice. Nothing special, but nice and clean and the views toward the old town are great. The beds lack the usual Hilton luxurious feeling, they are the Swedish kind with unimpressive duvets and pillows. They need an upgrade to Hilton beds. The location is also good, just across the street from the subway, walking distance to all parts of Stockholm. Front desk was very nice and helpful. We were impressed. Would we stay again? Yes. In fact we already have. THE LONG VERSION Diamond experience: Upgraded without asking to a nice, albeit small, suite. Breakfast: Good. Large assortment. Replenished often. Lots to chose from, fresh and tasty. Lovely assortment of fresh bread! Delicious ‘Prinskorvar’. Downside was the breakfast wait staff: they are mostly polite and helpful but they make lots of noise cleaning tables, scraping plates beside the tables, in front of guests. Very noisy, very disturbing and most of all very unappetizing. Who wants to look at that when eating? Why not take dirty plates etc away and clean them off in the dishwasher room? It is very unpleasant to witness and listen to. Waffle machine was constantly in use and the wait is way too long. How about investing in another machine? Executive Lounge: Lovely view of Stockholm’s old town, with a pretty fireplace, board games (nice touch, should be replicated in all lounges!), newspapers, nicely decorated with varied seating arrangements! Overall very positively surprised. The food was good too and lots of cold drinks and great coffee. Friendliness/welcoming attitude: Varying, some very gruffy staff, some very nice. Overall the friendliness factor needs a boost even if it was far from bad, and the staff needs to learn how to smile and make small talk and make guests feel welcome. Child friendly: Nothing special for kids, board games in lounge was a plus. Pool/recreation/spa, etc: Didn’t use these facilities. Rooms: Nicely decorated, a tad dated, well cleaned. Bathroom ok, clean. The suite TV room was nice, good seating, good tv. Beds not very comfy, thin, not so plush comforters, not enough pillows, beds need an update to Hilton’s own beds. Beds feel frugal, nothing luxurious at all. Cleanliness: Good! Nothing to complain about. Restaurants: Good food. Great Swedish traditional dishes. Nice atmosphere. Expensive though, then again, so is all of Stockholm. Room Service: We did not use room service on this occasion. Wifi: No issues, worked perfectly fine. Unlimited number of devices. Staff: Ok, not rude, but disinterested, needs to smile more, be more friendly, make more of an effort. If they see guests struggling with luggage, why not help out? Just offer to carry the damn bag? They never did, not even for elderly guests. Best experience during stay: Lounge! Lovely views, quiet, good food and lovely drinks! 6 year old son’s review: Loved hanging out in the lounge! Collapse
