I was on a special spring vacation with my sister and we were looking forward to enjoying the hotel and what it had to offer us as well as a bit of sightseeing. We loved Sorrento and the Hilton did not disappoint. The staff were so professional and at the same time very friendly, always smiling and offering help. Nothing was too much trouble. Both Giuseppe's, manager and barman were extremely helpful along with Francesca on reception and Domenic at the bar. We were kindly upgraded which went beyond our expectations after an unfortunate noisy 'neighbour'. Breakfast was lovely, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice! Lovely hotel with very nice staff. Collapse

Very light light luggage so we took a 10-15 minute walk up from the centre of Sorrento (the guest entrance is around the back as you face the hotel and the cliffs behind.) This is uphill at the end so would not be easy with heavy luggage, but it does make possible the lovely views over the rooftops and Bay Of Naples to Napoli and Vesuvius. The lobby is vast and very light. We were checked in by Maria who personally showed us up to our room. We had 521 which has a nice balcony overlooking the fine outdoor pool and gardens, plus the uninterrupted view across the bay mentioned above. This end of the floor has double length rooms, which allows for a huge very modern bathroom with bath and walk-in shower and a wardrobe area both off a long hallway. The bathroom and bedroom are decorated almost completely in white, which makes for a very light space with a modern feel. The bed is super-king width and very comfortable. There is a novel system in the lifts where inserting your card in the slot automatically transports you straight to the Executive Lounge on floor 7, there is no button to select floor 7. The lounge has only just been refurbished so was spotless. As it takes up the whole of floor 7, it is very spacious and comfortable. It has extensive indoor and outdoor dining areas and a small stylish lap sized infinity pool with sun loungers. There is food and drink available here just about all day and night. We enjoyed afternoon tea and excellent evening canapes with prosecco, spirits, wine and beer on offer. We were well served by Valentina, Annalisa and the team, who made great efforts to engage with all their guests and make sure they have everything that they need. Wifi in the rooms was good and the only point of confusion came when my wife mistook a bathroom alarm cord for an extractor fan pull switch (the extraction system is very quiet obviously), but they are evidently used to resetting this. We did not try the restaurant, as the lounge was so welcoming, so we took breakfast there as well, which had an extensive selection for a lounge facility with eggs and coffee made to order in addition to the hot and cold buffet. All in all, we would love to go back to enjoy the facilities and the excellent helpful staff. The views make the uphill approach walk well worthwhile. Collapse

Really lovely hotel , matched only by the friendly staff. Only x2 issues 1- one has to pay for the wifi which is absurd when one stays in far less salubrious establishments and have it for free in this day and age. Due to the confusion over how one logs onto the wifi provider we were faced with a huge bill of over €200 as unbeknownst to us you're meant to re-enter voucher codes as opposed to re logging on each time . The nice receptionist realised the issue and reduced bill accordingly. Upshot is Hilton , if airport lounges can do wifi for free why can't an aspiring luxury hotel. 2- The hotel could benefit from a shuttle bus service . It's a 15-20 min walk to the town. The taxis are ludicrously pricey with the 5mib taxi drive to hotel from Sorrento costing €30 !!!!.Even in Rome the equivalent journey was only €7 roughly. The hotel could really do with a shuttle service. Apologies for the 'constructive' criticism, otherwise perfect hotel. Collapse

Again, a loyal Hilton member so review might be a bit biased. We were treated fantastically and had a room with an amazing view on the 5th floor of the Gulf and Vesuvius. The Executive lounge was one of the best I've experienced at any Hilton property, and the on site travel agency/tour company was very helpful. Only somewhat disappointing experience was our dinner at the main restaurant, as it was pricey with a limited menu and just ok. If visiting the area and wanting an American hotel feel, I would highly recommend this property. Upgrade to a room with a great view, you wont be disappointed. Collapse

The Hilton property is phenomenal – amazing view from the rooftop terrace. However, the service wasn’t quite up to the property. First and foremost, they had a problem with temperature regulation. I tried to cool our room when we entered, and the bell staff, when they brought our luggage, also commented on how warm the room was and tried to cool it. Requests to the front desk went unanswered. We opened the terrace door to cool off – it worked, but the security issues? Anyone could have come in from a neighboring room. When we checked out it was explained that we were “between seasons”, post-heating and pre-cooling. Wonderful, for those who didn’t have to sleep in a room that was in excess of 80 deg. F! I mean really, a Hilton hotel of this quality that has to take a break from temperature control in the early spring? Inconceivable SNAFU. We had asked for two beds, and ended up in a room with three twins -- not what we expected by satisfactory. Watch the tub -- exceptionally slippery. I felt I needed to hold on to something the entire time I used it. Staff were accommodating when suggesting a local restaurant – we had a lovely dinner in the town center. Although the terrace was lovely, the food offered in the executive lounge was marginal. Evening reception food was good but scarce, with few choices, and slowly replenished. Breakfast was without adequate selection and not at all replaced. Fruit choices were quite limited. Bread products consisted of only two packaged/sliced loaves, as everything else had run out (by 9 AM) and not been replaced; milk had to be requested! Surely they can do better! Collapse
