Hotel Hilton Sofia

Excellent stay. Close to metro. Staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to assist. Breakfast was very varied and eggs cooked to order. Gym was very clean and open 24/7. Pool was very relaxing. Highly recommended.

As in my previous stay I have been very pleased with my stay at the Hilton Sofia. There may be Hotels there with a bigger Lobby, posher rooms or a better location, but the Hilton has the best staff for sure and everything else is on a really good level as well. Everybody is very friendly and helpful throughout the entire Hotel on all levels - even people in the "backrow" such as Housekeeping or laundry. There is always a little room for improvement in some details, but overall I can highly recommend this Hotel: Nice rooms, very good breakfast, good Location, great staff. Collapse
Left bitter taste

I stayed three nights in the Hilton Sofia Hotel in January while travelling on business. The room (standard) was nice but nothing special, breakfast rather overpriced for that what was on offer : hot cooked breakfast was cold: cold scrambled eggs, cold sausages, cold bacon on morning 1.... never tried again, only one type of salami etc. The staff was however very nice and some of the really helpful. What makes me very much unhappy and not recommending this Hotel at all is: - I asked the reception to order me a taxi every morning. The cars were ok, choice of the company was not mine but Hilton`s. Now at the checkout I had to realize that Hilton Sofia CHARGED ME for the phone call they made/ or not for ordering a taxi every morning (three). I am gobsmacked. I paid the bill, it won`t break the bank. However I do believe that a Hotel like Hilton should be able to order a taxi for their guests without charging them for the phone call. This is very unprofessional hotel management in my books. It certainly left a bitter taste and I am NOT comfortable recommending this hotel at all. Collapse

I stayed with some colleagues on two different occasion in December 2016 and I would say that both stays were absolutely superb. It's a very elegant hotel, the staff is super friendly and extremely professional, the services offered are of top level (there is even an automatic exchange machine for foreign currency). Rooms are bright, spacious and wifi is very fast. The bar on the ground floor serves very yummy snacks at a reasonable price. The executive lounge is of an high standard and the personnel is very efficient without being pushy, Breakfast is excellent with the chef serving eggs and pancakes at your choice. There are also some very elegant shops and particularly the antique dealer is a very charming and experienced guy. The only negative thing, which you can't of course blame on the hotel but solely on the architects who built it, is that you can't open the windows in the room and for a claustrophobic subject like me, this is a very big problem. But apart from that, it is highly recommended, even if they didn't credit me the Honors points for the promotion for the bar food! It is very well located , walking distance from the main attractions of the Bulgarian capital and steps from the Metro station. I will definitely return there. Collapse

I would call this a 4* hotel. The staff were a bit hit and miss - sometimes they were very good other times they were a bit bad. Ordered several pots of coffee on room service - some were near freezing cold, others were good. Positives were good paitient room service. Some of the staff were very pleasant. The facilities were absolutely adequate. Hotel was near spotless. Concierge and bell boys were very pleasant to deal with. Downpoints - on New Years Eve the reception girl was clearly flustered and clearly didn't have any time to help us. The hotel could do with a refurb as the decor is a little bit 80's/90's. Collapse
