Executive lounge was typical, with check-in being simple as, minor hiccup with my bags being forgotten downstairs, but harm, no foul. We arrived at the Hilton Singapore around 10:30 AM following a cruise. We realized it was asking a lot for our room to be ready – and it wasn’t. We were given access to the Executive Lounge where we drank coffee and used the free wifi until our room was available less than two hours later. We are Hilton Diamond Members and used points for this stay, paying extra points to upgrade to a King Deluxe Suite with a balcony, the room was on the 22nd floor, same as the Executive Lounge. We had high expectations for the room and were a little disappointed in it – while the room was huge, it contained very little furniture or storage. There was a king bed with two side tables (each included one drawer), a closet with a safe and two small drawers, and a small bench with one drawer. There also was a desk, desk chair and one chair with ottoman. The balcony was small and crowded with two chairs and a table – it was so close to the next door balcony you could reach out and touch anybody sitting on that balcony. Had we been given a room with the balcony as a free upgrade, we would have said “what a great free upgrade”, instead, since we paid for the balcony with extra points, wish we had not, as it was hot and steamy while we were in Singapore so we didn’t even use it. The bathroom was small, it had a combination tub and shower. There was a hair dryer attached to the wall in the bathroom, it was not very powerful; an additional, more powerful hairdryer was in the closet and could be plugged in anywhere in the room – I was pleased about that until I discovered the only available mirror was over the tiny bar area connected to the small closet, so I had to rearrange things while standing in the entry area to blow dry my hair. The service at the front desk was excellent; the porters who took care of our luggage quickly brought it to our room once it was available. All staff we encountered in the Executive Lounge were friendly and professional. There was not an ATM in the hotel, we were directed to a building next door where there was a “money changer” business – we did not want to do that, but once we started looking, found ATMs all over (the most convenient for us was turn right outside the hotel, walk about a block and see HSBC). The Hilton Singapore is located in a great area with lots of shopping and restaurants. The Hop On Hop Off bus picks up across the street, and down one block (in front of Rocky Master at a city bus stop, it does not indicate that it is a HOHO stop ). The Hotel Concierge arranged for an early morning Taxi to the airport, it cost close to 50 in Singapore Dollars – that included the charge for reserving the Taxi in advance, a second person in the Taxi, airport fees and a tip. We would probably stay in this hotel if we returned to Singapore, but would go with a standard room and be just as happy. Collapse

every time when I visit Asia I stay in the Hilton hotels and I must say I enjoy this very much. the rooms and the service is splendid and the principle of the executive lounge is very pleasant. certainly when you have to have meetings.

Don't believe all the negative reviews about this property! Our experience was truly positive and memorable. We checked in at 2AM after a 21 hour sequence of flights from the USA. Not only was our room ready, but there was n unexpected and very much appreciated gift from the hotel manager as well. Our room was on the executive floor. It was spotlessly clean. Service was VERY good from the initial check in to the easy check out. Executive Lounge staff was cordial and attentive. Concierge staff knew all tips one would expect along with some nice surprise info on other places to go and the most efficient way to get there. They also provided a large umbrella for the one day of rain we experienced. Hilton Singapore is within 5 minutes of an MRT station and the hop on hop off stop is just across Orchard Road. The Botanic Garden is a pleasant walk away. One more plus for this property: food at this hotel was much better in quality than standard hotel fare. Well done, Singapore Hilton staff! Collapse

Bed linen was dirty with stains and dirt. Bathroom shower head, sink and toilet was dirty. Pipes inside wall made squeaking noises all night. AC ran lukewarm instead of fully cool. In the restaurant I was treated with disrespect.
