The hotel is a great location easily walking distance from all the major tourist stuff you'd like to do. The rooms are a little dated decor wise but it's clean and tidy and what you'd expect for a busy inner city hotel. The parking at the hotel is a complete rip off and they should offer a reduced rate for advanced booking along with the rooms. We never ate at the hotel as always ate out. Also charging 3 dollars for bottled water left in your room to use with the coffe maker is a joke. All other hotels I know replace these daily free off charge. Collapse

My wife and I stayed here for four nights at the end of our California vacation. We arrived a bit early and our suite on the 27th floor was not ready yet. We sat in the bar to have a drink while waiting and the general manager found us, comped our bottle of wine and sent two housekeepers up to the room to get it ready. That was service above and beyond. The suite was pretty amazing with a great view. The Toto toilet was a big hit with my wife. The balcony is pretty spartan, just bare concrete. And the hotel will not win any speed contests with its elevators. We waited 4 minutes for an elevator one morning and then stopped 9 times on the way down. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to San Francisco. Collapse

I'm a diamond member and this is without doubt the worst Hilton I've stayed in. The room we had was very small and very old with very small beds. With 2 adults and two small kids this was no where near big enough. The bathroom was dreadful and the shower didn't work properly. The windows where filthy. The staff were unfriendly we arrived early and were told the room wasn't ready fair enough but it was not done politely. Then the bell hop kept barking in less than fluent English to count the bags. The baggage handler accidentally trapped my 7 year olds hand in he bathroom door which rather hurt him, and the manager seemed to think ice cream was suitable recompense. To add insult to injury it was not cheap to what I could have got at short notice in the city the st Regis and Hyatt at the same rate. Overall I felt this was the kind of hotel I imagine I would stay in if I was in transit to a longer term witness protection program for low value informants. I am baffled by the good reviews on trip advisor, people must mean a different hotel. Don't stay here. Collapse
Danny Monel was pleasant

Although was put in a room with double beds Danny was professional and pleasant during check in. Was too tired to ask to Danny be moved into a room with King bed. The hotel is a bit dated and had a funky smell in the hallway or would rate 5 stars.

I would have given an even lower rating, but the room itself was good. What wasn't good was the service provided, particularly at the front desk. When I first arrived at the hotel, it was approximately 1:15 p.m. I knew from the app check-in that the "official" check-in time was 3 p.m., but I'm a Diamond level Honors member and don't find it difficult to get accommodations that early at other Hilton properties. The first reception associate was very good. He explained that my room was not showing as cleaned, but he called housekeeping while I was there and asked for expedited service. He said that it should be done within about 45 minutes. He also prepared my key packet and set up the card key to use for exiting the garage. When I returned from having lunch around 2:20 p.m., I found that associate was no longer there, and the next associate I dealt with simply said in abrupt manner, "check-in time is 3 p.m. Your room isn't ready." I tried explaining that I had already been told to come back, but she repeated again her initial message. So, I went across the lobby to some computers to check on emails and spend some time. After approximately 30 minutes (and several automatic restarts of the computer), I was approached by a security guard who said, "I've noticed that you've been loitering at these computers for quite some time, and these are for the exclusive use of our guests. Loitering is not permitted in the lobby." I then told him I wouldn't be loitering in the lobby if my room were ready for me to occupy. Despite the fact that I was in clear view of the front desk clerk, it wasn't until the guard went to investigate my claim that I was told my room was ready. The next day was the final straw. When I tried to exit the garage, the card key I was given was not set up for parking access. So, I had to get three cars to back up behind me, park my car, and then return to the lobby to get my card key authorized for parking. I can't remember a worse service experience at a Hilton property. I doubt that I would stay at this property again, unless my client were within a couple blocks. Collapse
