I just got back from a flying 24 hour visit to this hotel. Totally surprising and lovely in every way. This is a large- previously family owned - estate that has undergone the most impeccable restoration and due to the friendliness of the staff retains that sense of being in a family country home; quite an achievement for a Hilton and this marriage of family and chain works very well indeed in this beautiful property. I had a fabulous room and I also saw rooms of friends who were with me - and all were perfect. With two large outdoor pools - one for adults only - a divine spa and indoor pool area; extensive and well kept grounds, a mill, a church, refined rooms for reading and relaxing, this was an idyllic property for me. This is a place to come to really get away from it all while receiving the standard of a luxury hotel. At 15/20 minutes from the airport I can well imagine that this could become a wonderful weekend escape. tennis courts with equipment, bikes, running/walking track, gym all available. The tapas lunch in the courtyard was great and what a setting, the breakfast ample, however I felt the restaurant dinner could be improved given the excellent cuisine of the country. I look forward to a return visit already! Collapse

The Hilton Sa Torre was previously a very large estate, which controlled a significant amount of Mallorca. Because of that it is surrounded by fields. There are two tennis courts, Spa, a soccer field, a one Kilometer walk trough the fields, and two pools, but little that is close to hotel (nothing else in walking distance). If you are planning to do anything, other than sit by the pool, use the spa, or play tennis, you will need a car. The beach is miles alway, as is Palma and mountains. I was told that they have a shuttle during the summer that goes to Palma, but it was not operating. Before I went to hotel I asked for directions, and received 3 pages of directions from the Airport. I found when I left the airport on the only multi lane road going away from Palma, at about 20 KM there is a sign and exit for "Sa Torre". You exit, and come to a traffic circle. There is a sign for the Hilton Hotel, take that road to the bottom of a slight hill, turn left, you come to a T in the road, another sign for the Hilton, and you turn right. In about 8 KM you will see the Hilton on the right. It is easy to find and much simpler than following their complicated 3 pages of directons on secondary road. I was surprised, as no one had told me that April is a major bicycling month. Thousands of cyclists largely from the UK and Germany come to ride the Mallorca secondary roads, in groups of 2 to 25 or more. It is great biking location, ideal exercising temperatures, plenty of sun, and roads are idea, but it can be a bit challenging driving on the winding roads with the large groups of cyclists. The resort has been redone beautifully, and the new rooms they have added are done with taste and access to the outdoors. The Chaple has been refurbished and is worth a visit to see. The windmill is in good condition, although it no longer works. The dining room, was probably an old grain and food storage area, so it has a very high ceiling. The breakfast that was set out each day was wonderful, with all types of pastries, fruit, cereals, breads, salmon, a large variety of hot and cold meets, variety of eggs, etc. I tried the omelet and the waffles and did not care for either. The dinner service was excellent. I also tried a dinner, but after the first that, I ate dinner elsewhere. The rooms are lovely, each with a mini view. The room I had was large, and had couple of sets of French doors and very quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable and the temperature was always very pleasant. The bathroom was very well fitted out and the was very clean. The staff at the Hilton Sa Torre, is among the best of any Hilton have stayed. They were always looking for ways to make my stay more enjoyable, they are very proud of the hotel, and enjoy talking about it. They also also made good recommendations and provided some very useful information. The staff I saw and dealt with regularly were Toni and Rui the two bellman- who are outstanding. Fredrico, and Francisca at the front desk- both problem solvers!, and Lucie and the managers in the dining room. Everyone from the head of mainataince, and the maids, where outstanding, caring, dedicated professionals. I highly recommend the Hilton Sa Torre as long as you want a restful vacation at the resort, or you use it as a base and exploring the roads of Mallorca. Collapse

For brevity: Our accommodation external environs - only 3 star [if that.].......Main buildings, spa etc 5*plus..... Room 3.5* to 4*....... Service and staff 5* plus. THE DOWN SIDE. We were led to our room through the car park, down a forty meters long concrete alley funneling down to one person wide at the end before it turned left into a service area and our room on the right. Formed by new windowless, featureless buildings, like modern cowsheds. [see photos to make your own mind up] The room was okay, standard and predictable for good hotels. But the terrace had worn /discolored concrete with cheap timber dividers and looked onto a part worn out lawn, basic not pretty garden and other single story rooms. These terraced bungalows, - 'cowsheds' stuck in my mind, - were in basic colors and materials and in straight lines. It was a bit of a blow after the splendor of the main building. This walk followed a problem at check in so we had a double whammy and being up since 3am it didn't go down too well at the time. I had booked a double room including breakfast. There were two named people on our Booking.com. confirmation, I had added a second person to the booking form immediately after booking simply because there was an option to add a name. I thought no more of it as I had booked a double room with breakfast. It was clear by viewing our special requests there would be two people. We were asked to pay an extra 10 Euros p/n supplement for the second person and 20 Euros p/n for an extra breakfast. I had not seen the words 'for max 1 person' still on the booking confirmation after the two names. [ the extras for our five nights would have bumped our E1,375 to E1, 525]. So beware. However Hilton kindly agreed to waive the room supplement. [We could sort the booking fault out later.] Being un happy with the room environs, not the room, Hilton offered us three other rooms. One didn't have balcony or terrace and the other two with slightly better views seemed like smaller rooms. So we stayed put in what was probably the worst visual location on the site. The room was okay. Down sides were we could hear conversation and TV through the walls. Next doors dog barked occasionally too and came sniffing around the rear door. Outside there were the odd weed and some disrepair. Bedside bendy lights switches were very faulty. Not five star but otherwise all fine. UPSIDE: Terrific service! Everywhere, all departments! The rest is as per the other good reviews. Just be careful on booking! Collapse
