Good place to stay

This is a nice property. The staff was courteous and helpful. There is shopping close by. Food and drink were pricey, but I think that would be the same in other hotels in Rotterdam. I would stay there again.

I was looking forward to a stay at the Rotterdam Hilton and had seen good things about how Diamond members were treated. I was totally disappointed. After asking to be put on the quiet side I was put in a room that faced the busy street and trolley. Only one of two elevators worked, and it had been that way for at least a week. Waiting time was awful. The staff in the executive lounge was rude and inattentive. One morning there were no glasses and no clean place settings despite it being almost empty. The heating/cooling system in my room was ineffective. The bar was unable to handle a crowd - they only had two bartenders, one of whom was working her first day, despite full occupancy in the hotel. During my stay, housekeeping moved my personal belongings when they cleaned the room. The fitness center is minimal. The only bright spot was VERY fast internet. It is very conveniently located, and oithers have had good experiences here, but I did not. I love Hiltons, but not this one!! Collapse

The hotel staff was so accommodating. Their hospitality was amazing! Location is within walking distance of train / metro station or one tram stop away. We used it as home base to do day trips. Highly recommend!!

My fave hotel is going downhill, items not up to usual standards below - rubbery overcooked eggs at breakfast - overcooked pizza for room service and missed item - one lift out of service for two days, 10 mins waits - trash not collected, incomplete cleaning of bathroom The most annoying one was lack of laundry bags believe it or not, asked about it three times and not resolved until my last night when too late so had to take dirty laundry with me to next destination. Other than this as good as usual, really hope this is not a downward trend but planning to move during next trip Rob Collapse

Sometimes when you stay in a chain hotel you get upgraded ( not often) but this time at the Hilton Rotterdam, I was elevated to a junior suite which I loved. The Hilton is a short walk from Centraal station or you could ride the metro 1 stop to Stadhuis if you so wished. The Hilton is very well situated and easy to find. The hotel was recently remodelled so everything is clean, new and modern. My room was on the 5th floor, it was spacious, very well appointed and lots of space for a junior suite. Separate bedroom and living areas, the lounge was very large, with dining table, desk area for work and long sofa on which to relax and watch television, The bedroom was equally nice , restful colors on the walls and a large , comfortable bed and good blackout blinds for a good night’s sleep. Great bathroom, with separate tub and shower cubicle and lots of fluffy towels, soaps and gels even a loofah. The wifi was free, fast and easy to connect to on your devices. Access to the executive lounge on the ground floor was also included and this was excellent. There was a great selection of soft drinks, tea and coffee during the day and then hot food, wine and spirits in the evening, the atmosphere in the lounge was very relaxing , perfect for an appetizer and evening/predinner drink. The staff in the lounge were very friendly and happy to help . Breakfast was taken in the Roots restaurant and had everything you could want. I was very impressive, eggs cooked to order or there was scrambled eggs prepared along with sausage, bacon, fresh fruits , cheeses and a selection of fresh bread rolls in interesting flavors, all very tasty and a good set up for the day ahead. Even sparkling wine if you fancied a mimosa. The inhouse restaurant, Joelia looked amazing and was very busy on the Saturday night that I stayed at the hotel. The staff were super friendly and helpful with city maps and directions, a day ticket on Rotterdam public transport cost 7.50 euro and got you on the buses, trams and trains, there was 1 ticket machine at the airport which accepted debit cards. Rotterdam is a nice weekend break and easy to get to as the airport is small and nearby and the Hilton is a perfect choice ( perhaps spend a little extra for access to the exec lounge) Collapse
