We have just returned from a stay at this hotel with 5 members of my family....were we impressed. Its a really lovely hotel to stay away from the busyness of Dubai. It has its on private beach with plenty of loungers (although you still get people putting towels on beds prior to having breakfast, then leaving them for hours - this is a real annoyance for me in any hotel!! - not the fault of the hotel its the guest). Foodwise there is plenty for everyone to choose from, the breakfast is amazing with a fantastic selection, in fact the dinner is as well. We chose to eat in the Italian restaurant on our last night and that was excellent. All staff were extremely, helpful, polite and professional and could not do enough to help. The concierge organised a hire minivan for 7 of us and we had the driver with us for nearly 10 hours taking us to visit all places of interest as Dubai is about a 90 minute drive away and as we had already stayed in Dubai in the past, we were happy to stay in Ras al Kaimah for the rest of our stay. We were sent here by virgin holidays when our honeymoon came to a quick end in Cuba due to hurricane Irma. The grounds of this resort are absolutely stunning, the beach, pools, rooms & restaurants are all beautiful. We we're all inclusive, this meant we could pick from the virgin holidays al la carte menu in the Brazilian and the Italian restaurant or have anything from the Buffett restaurant. The choice was good and if you want something from the main menu then you receive 70 AED discount (£15) you must have the unlimited meat option from the Brazilian and pay the extra it's so worth it! The drinks options were ok, local spirits, red or white wine, a handful of cocktails and mocktails. It would of been nice to have any drink from the menu as it seemed they were all the same or similar price. If you aren't inclusive the prices were high a big bottle of water is £5. Other than the beautiful hotel and grounds, the quality of service at this hotel is outstanding. The waiters, bartenders & housekeeping are some of the most polite and hard working people I've met and they really made our stay memorable and welcoming. A few tiny things that would of made our experience even more enjoyable would be: Some entertainment in the evening would of been really nice, there isn't anywhere local to go to for this either. The waiters on the rooftop lounge to be allowed to wear cooler clothes. They were absolutely roasting up there and didn't have a fan either it made us feel really guilty. The rooftop sheesh lounge is nice and relaxing but would definitely benefit from some music and lighting to make a more enjoyable Arabic atmosphere. Getting a sun lounger by the pool is difficult unless you go out early in the morning and put a towel on one. Something we really didn't want to be doing but had to. Either more sun loungers or a policy to not allow people to reserve them would work well. If you are looking for pure relaxation, luxury and good food in the very hot sun this is your place! It's in the middle of no where which is what we wanted. Absolutely lovely resort. Collapse

Unusually, I am writing this review whilst still resident! Let's get the positives out of the way. The hotel is wonderful. Our ground floor room is spacious and features two double beds but unfortunately the patio is cramped and is not the place to be when the sprinklers come on. Very smelly! But not a problem. We mentioned this to hotel management and we are being moved in the morning. The grounds around the hotel are beautiful and we love lying around the adult pool where there is a bar close at hand. The pool is excellent and decidedly refreshing. There is also another pool that is filled with salt water in which there is a swim up bar, perfect! Yesterday we took the free shuttle to the Manar Mall where we had dinner for a fraction of the price at the hotel, which, as we are boarded on a bed and breakfast basis, is very expensive in terms of meals and drinks. I mean, a small bottle of water will set you back around £3.50! That said, we dined at the Italian restaurant tonight and found the price of each course reasonable. What was striking was the quality of the food and the level of service we received. My wife ordered a pizza but the wrong one was served. Staff were distraught and to make amends we were given free glasses of wine, a complimentary dessert and our starter was taken off the bill. I have to say that the most redeeming feature of this hotel is the level of service you receive. The staff are frankly amazing, they fall over themselves to make your stay as nice as it possibly can be. That said, and we now enter into negative territory, and as already highlighted, the price of meals and drinks is ridiculous. Which is a shame. I accept that we could of booked on an all inclusive basis but chose not to as we have found such deals lends itself to over eating and drinking. If the prices were more realistic, we would have eaten at the restaurants more often and drank a few more drinks. But hey, this is Dubai so we shouldn't have been surprised. The setting and weather is just right and we just love sitting around the sunset bar with a cool beer as the sun sets. The beach is close by but we found the sea to be like bath water but that's hardly surprising since the average temperature at the moment is around 40c!! In short, great hotel, wonderful and helpful staff but very expensive. Collapse

We visited as a family at the end of August. On arrival the hotel staff were welcoming and attentive. Our room was lovely and clean with a beautiful view. Food was good, tasty with a good variety. We also made use of the Brazilian Al la Carte - the steak was excellent. There were plenty of sun lounges around the pool and pools well manned with plenty of life guards who were really friendly. We also made use of the spa facilities - Having several massage (which were also very good). I would definitely come back. Collapse
