The Hilton of Prague’s Old Town, is fabulous. Every employee we encountered from housekeeping to front desk to the driver of the hotel’s hire-car. I am going to gush over the staff and experience in the hotel’s executive lounge for the rest of this review. In doing so, I risk diminishing the great experience we had with the rest of the staff and hotel. Make no mistake, everyone was great. The executive lounge was exceptional. “Executive lounges” so often feels like an afterthought to me. Cold dry food that trickles out with limited staff. This lounge of Hilton Old Town was anything but that. The breakfast was complete, fresh and welcoming. The afternoon meal was light but good. Fresh mains, plenty of good cheeses, endless wine, champagne and even liquor for mixed drinks. The staff is never resting in the corner or checking their smart-phone for messages. When the staff is not freshening the food, washing dishes, or cleaning tables they walk around refilling and replacing drinks. One morning the unbelievably great coffee machine ran out of milk. Once I made the staff aware they jumped on the task of replacing it so fast I felt like they needed to slowdown some. In addition to all of the food and drink service the staff of the executive lounge is even there to serve as a concierge. They do not respond with “check with the concierge downstairs” or “I am not sure”. They are quick to recommend a tour, call for assistance somewhere else in the hotel or tell you how to solve your problem. Even at peak time they are there. By the way, this is addition to a perfectly capable and helpful concierge in the lobby. I asked the lobby concierge one morning how to get metro passes and she produced them in the palm of her hand almost like a magician with them hidden in the cuff of her shirt. If you read my other review you will see I am seldom complimentary. I rail on poor service and I never enter reviews for what I consider regular service. Three days into my stay and this has been great. One morning a server at breakfast came to my table and asked, “Do you have everything?”. I surveyed my table, looked up at her and could only respond with “yes, I have everything”. Collapse

This Hilton is a good choice to stay in Prague. As a Gold member we were upgraded from a standard to an executive room, which was greatly appreciated. Our room appeared to be renovated quite recently, had a comfortable bed, and a good-sized bathroom with a large soaking tub. We were given the option to have breakfast in either the lounge, or the Zinc restaurant on the ground floor. At this hotel, the restaurant is by far the better option -- the breakfast buffet has quite a huge selection. The cappuccinos in particular were excellent! In terms of location, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the Old Town, there is a tram stop close by, and the subway is very close as well. All the staff we encountered during our visit were friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a charming, romantic hotel with a lot of old world character, this isn't it -- you'd be better off staying in the heart of the Old Town where there are lots of options. However, if you don't mind staying in a modern building, this property is perfectly nice, and I'd be happy to stay here again. Collapse
Central location but average service

The hotel was in a central location to get around. The hotel and rooms were clean, whoever we were disappointed in the size of the room it was pretty small. The staff could improve on their customer service. Overall a good stay.
