If you read the recent reviews you'll see our complaints are similar to others in the past few months. Not sure if the management has changed or if something else has changed to cause the decline in service. Lets start with the positive - This is a beautiful hotel. By and far one of the most attractive hotels I've stayed in. Historic building, impeccably furnished and in a great location. - The concierge who we worked with was very kind, helpful, and was willing to make multiple calls to secure us a reservation at Epicure, which was the highlight of our trip by far. Thank you! And now the negative - Our room was TINY. Now I've lived in New York City and London so I've familiar with the space constraints that come with city living. But this was by and far one of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. To give you an idea, there was a narrow desk against the wall opposite the foot of our bed. This left, I estimate, 10 inches of space between the foot of the bed and the desk which was, I suppose, meant to be big enough for a human to pass between as well as for them to squeeze in a desk chair. Very hard to manage in such a small space for two people for multiple days. - Air conditioning was broken for over two weeks. I know this because of the date of the note in our room informing us when we checked in. Was fixed by the end of our stay, but I'm not sure how a hotel which costs $500+ a night could continue to let people check-in during a heat wave (90+ Fahrenheit during the day) without warning them in advance or giving them other options. Our windows only opened about six inches for security due to looking out on a roof. In addition, when we requested a fan after our first night unable to sleep, the hotel said they "were out". This a multi-billion dollar chain, you couldn't rustle up a few more $20 euro fans so your guests don't melt? While we didn't request compensation for the air conditioning being out (as this was a work trip and we weren't paying for the room) nothing was offered which again, seems like horrible customer service. To their credit, every employee we dealt with was very kind and patient which is incredible given how many angry guests I'm sure they were dealing with daily. - Room service: called to place room service. My French is not strong so I politely asked if the person answering spoke English. They said yes, but after a bit of language confusion, without warning, the phone was abruptly handed to another employee where I had to restart my order. Not a big deal, but just odd customer service for an international brand. Also had to call back to check on status of food after an hour, was told "its ready, I just need to go get it.". So how long was our food just sitting out getting cold? Not a big deal, but again, not what I expect from a brand like Hilton and for the price of the accommodations. Collapse

This Hotel's front desk process is broken. Their priority is answering calls and they asked me to move out of the Hilton Honors check-in desk and wait in line at the standard check-in desk. Also the cooling system was broken and my room was over 80F for two nights due to the 97F heat wave in Paris - obviously I was unable to sleep. There was no accommodation for my room being a sauna for two days. Collapse

Experience was very poor. On arrival we were told air conditioning was out of order in our room, this turned out to be the entire hotel and was not fixed during our stay. We were told we may access the executive lounge to compensate for the lack of air conditioning, however when we visited for breakfast on our 1st morning were told we are not able to go in there. We booked a superior room, as did our travel companions, which should be larger than a deluxe room. Our room (548?) was significantly smaller than theirs and believe was your standard room, not the room we paid for. On our 2nd night we checked the time breakfast is served until and were told it is until 10:30. When we arrived for breakfast at 10:15 the next morning we were told it ends at 10 and that most food had been removed. We were able to have a very small breakfast on food which had not yet been removed. Due to the a/c issue we asked about moving to another hotel (another Hilton would have been fine) but were told no refund of our prepaid accomodation would be made and it could not be transferred to another Hilton. We enquired each day about a room upgrade to an executive room, and we're told none were available, despite availability showing on your website from days 2-4 of our stay. The price of drinks in the hotel bar was quite excessive. If you need any more information or details on our experience, please feel free to contact me. Collapse
