Stayed here for a week for business and several things were not the best. I was advised that they had listed me as a no show, so they would have to find me a room. I didnt know what had caused this but it made me feel like an inconvenience. The room they sent me to was still in the state the previous occupant had left it in. Housekeeping were very apologetic that they had been short staffed. Shower was weak and was in bad need of a new shower head. Reaching for a towel, it had a rip right across the centre as if Edward scissorhands had been using it! others were frayed on the edges and had clearly seen better days. The rooms were clean. No sound proofing on doors, but the windows in the rooms did open to let fresh air in. Drinks were very expensive, food was not cheap and yet average, staff were demotivated and were often talking in huddles, they were friendly and helpful enough though. Collapse

I stayed for one night while in town for work. When I went to check in there were two women behind the desk one serving someone and the other dealing with something, I was the only other person waiting to check in, after a few minutes the other women came to the desk to serve and then greeted the person behind me who had only just appeared and preceded to check her in completely ignoring me. When I was then checked in by the other attendant she simply told me "your room is over in that corner". Nothing about hotel services, the bar, the restaurant, no greeting as a HHonors member, nothing about charging anything to my room or taking payment for my room. I was going to order room service but decided I would rather go to the restaurant but it didn't open till 7 (had to use the tv service to find that one out). I went down and there were plenty of tables available and was asked if I had booked, I explained no I was not told of this and had only checked in 45min earlier and that I would have to wait although they still seated me. The food itself was lovely but the restaurant was freezing cold that several people had to ask to move table. I asked for the bill but 15min passed and I ended up just going up and paying, as I was doing so someone had had to come down to order his room service as no one answered the phone. I think they were highly understaffed and I felt a bit for the women trying to run it. The room itself was lovely but the bathroom could do with an update but again it was freezing cold. Even after having the heating on for a while it was still only luke warm. Check out was as friendly as check in. I always use Hilton branded hotels but this was the worst experience I have had, glad it was only one night. Collapse

We had all just finished attending a workshop in Rushden and were looking to relaxing after a long day. The hotel was easy to get to. But we had made the booking under my name but 4 separate bookings. One using my HHonors points, one using cash and points and 2 others regular bookings. I was worried that the staff would just be rude to us but on the contrary, we were welcomed like long time regular guests .. but none of us had stayed here before. With my Diamond status, we were all given room upgrades and complimentary breakfasts the next day. It was such a welcome treat ! After checking into our rooms, we headed to the restaurant and had a fabulous night with dinner and drinks. Again, the waiting staff made all the difference in the world recommending what wines go with what meal. It was such a treat... Next day, the breakfast was great and I was pleasantly surprised that the kitchen had gluten free bread on hand as I am wheat intolerant. I would definitely stay here again when I have the opportunity ! Collapse
