We stayed at the Hilton Millenium for a week and enjoyed every minute. We had a lovely suite on the 10th floor. It was very comfortable, if a bit dated, but that didn't matter as it was in toptop shape. The room was serviced promptly every morning, unlike in some destinations especially in Europe. We had access to the Executive Lounge on the 31st floor. We had breakfast on the ground floor in the FLOW restaurant. Sitting by the river watching the boats go by was a real treat. The selection of food, both international and Asian, was excellent. The Executive Lounge on the 31 floor offers panoramic views of Bangkok as far as the eye can see. During the week-end without traffic pollution that is very far indeed! The drinks and food offered are first class, as is the service. Thank you, lovely hostesses and hosts. We had a very late flight and appreciated being able to sit in the lounge even after check-out. Being on the 'wrong' side of the river, i.e. not the side where the most important temples are, is not a drawback in any way. The hotel shuttle boat offers frequent and excellent service and access to the opposite shore. One minus: wi-fi kept dropping off and was difficult to re-establish even for the hotel' s resident nerds. They managed, finally. Thank you. We would go back any day! Collapse

We spent 2 nights there before coming back home. Really good spot offering great view from bar on 31st floor, nice rooms (a bit outdated now, but undergoing renovation), with huge breakfast. Personnel is very professional and helpful, anticipating guest requests. There is a free shuttle boat service to other side of the river. We really appreciated possibility to use hotel amendities to refresh before long flight home, even after checking-out. Collapse

I hold elite status with Hilton, so chose this property for my one-night in Bankgok (I feel a song lyric in there somewhere :) ). The hotel is on the western bank of the Chao Phraya river, near the Mandarin Oriental and the Peninsula. Some people told me it's not near "downtown", but it was near(ish) to the tourist sites I wanted to visit, so it worked for me. I arranged airport transportation (for a fee) through the hotel concierge, and it was flawless. The hotel has a complimentary boat that will transfer you from the Hilton pier to the BTS Skytrain Station and I believe another location across the river (but not sure where), so you can get to the eastern riverbank if you need to. The hotel lobby is beautiful and impressive - made even more lovely by the substantial Christmas decorations. I was shown to the HHonors check-in desk, where I was treated with white gloves during the process (you'd think I was a celebrity instead of just an elite customer!). I had a King Panoramic River Suite on the 11th floor, and it was amazing. Occupying an entire front corner of the building, I had nearly uninterrupted views of the city and the river from the east to the south. There was a large living room, a small office with a large desk (with its own half-bath), a large bedroom with a king-sized heavenly Hilton bed (with cozy pillows and linens), two closets with a safe, robe and slippers (and more), a large bathroom with a big rain shower, a whirlpool bathtub, lots of fluffy towels, and Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, and a large bar area with various drink and snack options. All of the little touches around the room were lovely -- mirrors to make the large rooms appear even larger, a small tray of plants along with a book of floral options from the onsite florist, a fragrant oil burner (although there was no oil in the bottle, which was a bummer because I wanted to try it), and complimentary glass bottles of drinking water. The room was beautiful and comfortable and I was sad to only be there one night. I also had access to the Executive lounge, which included a complimentary breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, and an evening cocktail with a large selection of beverages and canapés. I had a morning latte in the lounge for the view (which is amazing -- definitely go up to the adjacent sky deck bar/lounge in the evening for views), and then had breakfast downstairs in the main restaurant. Wow, was that a buffet. It was absolutely enormous and had so many options -- Thai, Asian/eastern, and western. I also had complimentary WiFi, possibly due to my elite status (?), and it worked well. The staff was amazing at the hotel. They were utterly polite, professional, kind, and courteous. I had to contact the Magic Desk a couple times (once because my room safe was stuck, and another time because my hairdryer was missing), and both times they were there to assist me less than 5 minutes after I called. This was a beautiful, comfortable hotel that offered me the quality and comfort I'm accustomed to with the Hilton brand. I would absolutely stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. We have stayed here twice each time at least 5 nights and are quite pleased with this property. The location is perfect. Located on the river with quick access to the on and off boats and train systems to explore the city. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is always pleasant with a smile and willing to assist if needed. The pool is pretty cool and I will stay here again. If you do not have access to the executive lounge through status I would recommend to include it with your room. Well worth the food, drinks and view. Collapse
