All in all, this is a nice hotel with a dress code that you should observe. No shorts or string tops while on the ground floor or 31st floor. It has much to offer guests & is a lovely place to relax......except for the poor internet connections. If you can grab a bargain price for this hotel, then I'd recommend it as your base in bangkok, no matter which area you intend to visit. Negatives: 1. Terrible internet connection! In this day & age, everyone wants to be connected to the internet. No matter where in the world they are. The Hilton positions itself as a business hotel which makes it all the more amazing that the internet is so abysmal throughout the hotel. I had to wait until I was in a 'wee' dingy cafe in Chinatown before a video would send via messanger. There is no excuse for this in this day & age from a big brand hotel like the Hilton. I could not recommend this for my business partners because I couldn't be sure that employees would be able to connect when they needed to. I've travelled extensively for pleasure & business, and the internet connectivity in this hotel is right up there as the worst. 2. If you wAnt a hotel that can offer some downtime by the pool alongside your business or sightseeing, then this is NOT the hotel I'd recommend. There are 10 sunloungers in the sun which simply do not cater for the hundreds of guests looking to use them. Plus the staff allow guests to put towels down and reserve beds & not use them. We got very frustrated sitting in the shade when beds were vacant with towels over them for hours. I'd advise going before breakfast & claiming a bed if you want to use one in the morning. Also, the sun only shines onto the pool area until around 1pm after which the pool will be in the shade. This is not the hotel if you want to relax in the sun in the afternoon. On saying that, if you are happy to get some air & lounge around out of the sun, then the pool area is very pleasant. There is a lot going on & designers have almost overcomplicated by putting in large loungy bean bags, private cabanas & loungers by the beach area. It's described as an infinity pool, but not strictly true when the sun chairs are poised in the shallow water. The pool is a nice space, but do not head to the pool with too much stuff. If you sit in the water, you will have to balance all you kit on a 1m square table.....and this is not easy when the wind blows it off and into the water. Be warned. Less is more. 3. Our air conditioning leaked all over our floor by the entrance & into the wardrobe soaking our shoes on our night. This was a real hazard when I got up in the middle of the night & slipped & fell as the room was pitch dark with the blackout blinds. Not a great start. It was fixed as soon as we rang to report the fault in the morning, but not before the damage was done from the slip. Positives 1. 360 lounge on the 31st floor is fabulous. We had several drinks at the end of each night inside & on the outside deck. Both serve the same drinks & both have great things to offer guests. You do get better nibbles inside & on some nights there is a very pleasant live music on inside. Well worth the inflated prices to relax in a very nice space. I'd recommend the pink sangrias.....really refreshing drink at the end of a busy day. 2. The Breakfast room is huge & it can be very busy. You can opt to sit outside, but it can be warm & sticky & further to walk from the buffet. There is a huge choice of foods. The European pastries are not great, but everything else is tasty & well presented. Coffee servers come round frequently to refill your cup, so don't worry about only getting a half mug to start with. 3. The hotel seems to be slightly out of the way, almost on the wrong side of the river from most activities. However, there is a free shuttle boat run by the hotel from early AM til midnight and this runs to the Saphan Tamsin pier - a quick stroll to the station. There is also a cheap 'locals' river crossing from outside the market (out front of the Flow) and you can cross to River City for 4.5baht. You do not need to get a taxi to anything on the other side of the river! On reflection the hotel is nicely positioned for any activity you may do in bangkok, daytime or nighttime. 4. There is a local market beside the Hilton that sells lots of clothes & other gifts. We bought jeans & shoes here for a fraction of what we paid in other parts of town, and some of the food from the stalls is good too. 5. The hotel restaurants are expensive but really great quality if you want more western tastes. There is also great street food in the market, but it closes around 5PM. The BE MY GUEST pub next door serves really fab food & lots of drink, though no cocktails. Suggest you eat here if you want a bargain. Also a great spot for a beer without the rooftop prices in the Hilton. 6. If you check in early or check out & have a wait until your late flight, you can make use of the pool facilities. They hotel also allows use of the rather lovely changing facilities in the gym area, that includes hairdryer & sauna & steam room. This meant we could get a shower & changed properly which was very welcome. Collapse

After an extended stay as an honors member, I fully appreciated the gracious staff at the executive lounge, especially Aom for her consideration in preparing vegan / vegetarian options! Also the hotel's boat shuttle as well as the adjacent public ferry, gave full and timely access to pubic transportation and taxis with no delay. Being across the river was only a plus in my opinion including the full panaramic views of the city from the higher floors, not to be seen in other hotels. Collapse

I had a great stay at the Millennium Hilton! From check in to check out, everything was fantastic! Prior to arrival, I was able to choose my room on the Hilton App and was delighted to see that my elite status with Hilton offered me great choices in picking my room. The app also was able to let me choose different options such as pillows and other things. Just for fun, i decided to pick two of each kind of pillow and was filled with joy as I opened the door to my room to find my bed stacked up with eight total pillows! Executive lounge was nice and offered great views all around the city. Before i get sidetracked, here is what I remember during my stay. Staff: Everyone was very courteous and professional. Thank you to the following people for making my stay awesome. Nina/Ning at the front desk: She was able to assist me as i checked into the hotel and she was very friendly. Guitar from Housekeeping: She made sure I had everything I needed and she too was very friendly and had a great personality. Room: Room was very comfortable. I had an executive king river view room and the view was amazing. Bed was very relaxing. Bathroom was soothing. Air conditioning was powerful and strong. Wifi: One thing negative I can say about my stay here would be about the wifi. It worked throughout my stay with no issues. The only thing that bothered me was the distance of the wifi. I barely got any signal out by the entrance of the lobby. Stepping outside where the cars go for valet would make me lose the signal. It was quite a hassle having to go back inside the lobby to get a wifi signal because I was waiting for a friend to arrive outside. Location: Great location to be at while visiting Bangkok. They also had a complimentary shuttle to the sky train bts and you can also go across the river with another boat for super cheap. Lots of convenient stores nearby. Overall, I would gladly stay here again! Collapse
