This Hilton us consistent in its excellent service and well located in Manhattan. I highly recommend it. I like that you can walk to many city locations easily and it not, you are right down the block from Grand Central.

After looking at very expensive hotels in NYC, I booked this Hilton on Priceline for a great price. And then I saw the TripAdvisor reviews and I was really concerned. Would our stay be horrible? It was a great weekend! We arrived late on Friday night and checked in. We had a floor on the 8th room. It was small, but that's NYC for you. However, it was comfortable and clean! We stayed until early Monday morning, so three nights total. The front desk staff was nice and accommodating. Our room was great, even though we looked out onto a brick wall. The only room concern was in the night our A/C-Heating Unit would make a noise occasionally and when we showered, there was a noise in the wall that sounded like people banging on the wall. This is an old building, so I'm sure it's just par for the course. It didn't really bother us and I hope our neighbors weren't bothered by it. Housekeeping is hard to get up with! I called the front desk for a shower cap and was transferred to housekeeping, who never answered the phone. I also called housekeeping directly for more wash cloths and left a message, but they never delivered. This forced my husband to have to go down and get them. However, that was the only negative. And the positives are we were SO close to Grand Central Station and "Broadway". It made getting around and walking easy! Our needs required us to travel north of the city by train one day and the closeness to Grand Central was great! Wonderful stay! Collapse

I stay here often and generally have no problems. Two weeks ago I booked a room and was accidentally charged twice. Stuff happens, I understand. The gentleman at the front desk was helpful and reversed the charge - but I had to wait a week before it cleared my bank. A headache, but again, mistakes happen. Fast forward to this past Friday. My partner was staying in the city and booked a room, pre-paying with one of his cards. This morning I woke up to find the room had been charged to my account. So I call the hotel. The supervisor working this evening initially tried to be helpful, but couldn't seem to understand where I was coming from: I was charged, fraudulently, for a room that I did not reserve, book, check-in to, agree to pay for, or authorize payment for. I never presented my card, or gave them the information. Turns out when my friend's card didn't go through, they just randomly charged another one. Again: Hilton is charging me for a room that I DID NOT BOOK, OR CHECK-IN TO. In fact, I have no guarantee that they're not charging my card right now for every room in the building. After an hour on the phone, the supervisor let me know he could return the charge to my account -- AFTER they had reached out and gotten another form of payment from my friend. And then he said it would still be 3-5 business days once it was reversed before it showed up on my account. So, between last week and this week, Hilton has charged me fraudulently TWICE for a total of over $500 that is taking well over a week to return to my bank account. Their customer service was aggressively mediocre, and honestly, I would expect more from a company that is essentially taking out a $500 small loan from me. But if you want to get scammed while you're staying in New York, the Hilton's got you covered. Collapse

I stayed in Grand Central for 3 nights and found it to be a good place to stay in NewYork.. As my intention was to roam around places during my stay, I didn't want to go for luxury.. Also since I booked the hotel before my travel to US, I was not sure about booking at any small hotel.. so I chose the brand Hilton and then went to the hotel which is close to Time Square and cheapest offering from Hilton.. So I zeroed on Grand Central and it was a perfect place for my expectation.. I was able to walk around all the places near by anytime and also got a room which was old but at the same time very comfortable and value for money.. Also hotel was warm enough to provide us an early check in that too good 3-4 hour early than scheduled.. these are few small favors which really doesn't matter to hotel but are of great help for tourists like us.. This Hotel deserves my 5 star for it's location and price combination.. don't expect it to be a 5 star in facility but they don't even call them as a 5 star in facility.. Cheers Nilesh Gupta Collapse
