A recently renovated hotel where the rooms are of a reasonable size and which pass the all important sleep quality test in terms of noise. Our room on the 1st evening was rather warm (the thermostat seemed not to work too well and this despite the -10c temperatures outside), but the hotel reception turned a potentially negative point into something very positive indeed by apologising and organising transfer to a new room. The breakfasts were very good and a superb location in the centre of Helsinki. Service overall is excellent. I would like to commend Sonja on reception for all her help. Collapse

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night before we flew up to Ivalo. The hotel was in a great location, about 15mins walk from the main train station, on the river and close to a number of restaurants and bars. The rooms were a great size and all amenities provided in the room. We did suffer a few hiccups, the TV didn't work properly in the room and the end of the curtain rail (which fairly chunky and heavy) fell off and hit my foot. We also found some dirty laundry in the top of the wardrobe from the previous occupant! The heating also wasn't great and the room was cold with the heating system pumping out cold air- the reception told us this was due to the conditions outside and gave us a small plug in electric heater. Not ideal given how cold it was outside. The staff were attentive and we were given a complimentary fruit platter but I would reconsider staying here if you feel the cold! Collapse

I stayed for five nights recently for a combination of business and a weekend break. I have stayed in many Hilton properties over the years as a Hilton Honours member. This ranks in the top 2 or 3 Hilton properties I have visited. The building is somewhat unattractive from the curb, but is beautifully renovated throughout inside, with sweeping views out to the sea. The rooms are spacious with a large desk and comfortable chair for working. The internet was faultless. The pillows and duvet were plush and the bed the right firmness. Breakfast was a lavish spread of fresh fruits, salad, hot food, muesli and cereals and berries, and all kinds of breads and pastries. Dinner in the Bro restaurant was exquisite. I tried the sauna, which was deserted and kept immaculately. The service - from the restaurant, to front desk to cleaning team - was courteous and quick. This is perfect for a long weekend or business trip - highly recommended. Collapse

I am a Hilton Diamond member, so please bear in mind that your mileage may vary on upgrades. The hotel sits on the water about 1 km from the center of town. It is not a new property and a few places show age, but overall in very good condition. City views are good as well as the water view. The staff is friendly, cosmopolitan, and works in earnest to assist you. The restaurant is top notch, great for an evening dinner, or business meeting and the menu provides a variety of options. Being winter in what i assume is the low season, the room rates for a standard room with king sized bed is excellent for a property of this type at this location. I cannot tell you much more because I did not sleep in a regular room, I was upgraded to...... the Presidential Suite! This room is fit for a President. Not sure of the size, but easily 1200 square feet if not larger. Dining area, Living room, 2 bathrooms, large bedroom and walk in closet. Bathroom is larger than many home kitchens. 2 TV's and a balcony that is at least 50 feet long with views in two directions. Property has a great indoor pool and men's and women's saunas, as well as a well-appointed exercise facility. If you have access to the Executive Lounge, expect a good supply of breakfast foods and small food items at dinner which can substitute for a meal in a pinch, as well as a good supply of beer, wine, and soft drinks, all gratis. Kudos to the management for providing a complete stay at what must be a very competitive hotel environment in the capital of Finland. Collapse
