At first glance from the outside the hotel doesn’t appear like much and not impressive in the least. But staying here a few days we found the rooms comfortable, clean and well maintained. In room there was nothing to complain about. Even though you can tell the building is not the most recent and akin to a 70’s concrete office block, the interior is done out pretty well. Nice glass elevators take you to your rooms and the top most floor has a Sauna, Pool and Gym for guests. On this stay we were upgraded to the executive floor giving us access to the executive lounge. There access to free breakfast in the morning and some pretty nice snacks and warm food served in the evenings between 17-19:00. We found it was not too busy during the weekend and always found a table though the lounge is small. The room had a comfortable bed with plenty of space and a great view out to the sea/ harbour. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Location was also good only 15-20 minutes walk to the area where most of the attractions are and we found we actually did not need to take a Tram or Metro or Taxi at all. Though this could be because we are generally happy to walk 20-30 minutes to wherever we need to get to. The night we arrived we decided to eat in at the hotel. The restaurant we found (happily) only closed at 10:30PM and were very happy to serve us even at 10:00 when we got there – really happy staff! The burgers we had were delicious too and we were never rushed to finish. A hotel I would consider staying in again for sure. Collapse

Very stylish room with a real king size bed, and a view from the bed on the river from the 6th floor. Had a good sized working station in room. Spacious room, like new. Good breakfast. Very helpful staff and quick service.

Excellent hotel. I checked in online the day before, and choose room 402. When I arrived I was given the key for the same room, thankfully I had been changed room. Check in was extremely easy, just said my name, and the keys were given to me. The room was a good size, very nicely presented, and clean. As a Silver member, I had two bottles of water and a bowl of chocolate given complimentary. The water is normal, and the chocolate was a very nice extra touch. The desk was large enough for me to have my laptop and papers across it, and there was still some space! The view out of the window was the river and the bridge. This also means that the sun was shining in the room during the day time (yes it is sunny in Helsinki!). The bathroom had the shower in the bath, and the shower head was detachable from the wall. Breakfast is served on the ground floor. The selection was pretty good, from hot food (potatoes, veg, eggs, sausages, bacon) to cold meat and cheese. Cereals with milk and yoghurt is also available. Finally to end you can have some pastries and biscuits. There is a coffee machine for latte, etc. The waiters and waitresses also were going around offering filter coffee, I got this on the first morning, but the second morning I was missed..... given there is a machine I survived! It was very busy on Sunday morning at 9am, but 8:30am on Monday was extremely quiet. There is also a swimming pool and sauna on the top floor, I intended to use the pool but it closed at 10pm, and I was too late :( Would I stay here again? Absolutely, given I paid €90 per night it was money well spent. I didn't not spend a third night as it was over €130 when I booked. Collapse

We have stayed at the Hilton Helsinki three times and this hotel is one of our favorites! The staff is polished, friendly and efficient; the rooms are spotless and very comfortable. This is one hotel where we sleep well the first night and that is certainly not always true of other hotels, both domestic and international. The breakfast buffet is the best we have ever seen! It is amazing and delicious. The hotel is convenient to the central city; we often walk to the harbor or Esplanade, or take street car #3 and enjoy the ride. The Hilton Helsinki Strand will always be our first choice for Helsinki. Collapse
