As an airport hotel, one of the best that I have been to.. The reception is pretty well designed and the personel is very friendly. The hotel restaurant and hotel bar that are located at the lobby is well designed and very practical.. The hotel is part of the airport building. It is only five min walk distance to your gate.. The food is pretty good for an airport hotel. It is also pretty close to the city - 18kms I would stay at this hotel again.. Collapse

Nice hotel with perfect location - just 5 min walk from airport. Great place stay if you need to catch early flight. Rooms are clean and big. Also if you are three travelers. Internet is fast and free of charge.

We stayed here for one night in between connecting flights. The hotel is ideally located just next to T2 at Helsinki Vantaa: come out of the doors of T2, turn right and the hotel is along a covered walkway, although you do have to take a lift/flight of stairs up one level. It's no more than a couple of minutes walk though. Check-in was prompt and efficient (isn't everything in Finland?!) and our king room with executive lounge was on the fifth floor, a few rooms down from the lounge. The room was a decent size - certainly more than adequate for a one night layover stay - with a modern colour palette that was welcoming and felt warm. For a chain hotel room, it felt warming and rather homely. The room was well presented, clean and tidy. In terms of fixtures, it had plenty of storage space (see below), a work desk, armchair and digital climate control. The bed was a king size (I know, the clue's in the room title) with a firm but supportive mattress. We both had a good night's sleep. It's worth highlighting that there was no intrusive noise from aircraft taking off & landing. Wifi was reliable, fast and free, although I'm not sure if it was free because of the room grade or free for all guests. The bathroom was surprisingly large, especially in proportion to the overall size of the room and came with a walk-in shower. I'm 1.94m tall and really detest the shower over bath concept (which thankfully is slowing disappearing from hotels as they renovate and modernise) as it's difficult to stand up fully under the shower and the bath is always slippery underfoot. Here, the walk-in shower was spacious and easy to access, with a flexible handheld shower head. The water pressure and temperature were both more than satisfactory. It was good to see both shaving mirror and shaver/toothbrush charger next to the hand basin. In terms of other upside points; - plenty of storage space, in full height wardrobes on both sides of the bed, with lots of additional shelves. We had been in the high arctic and therefore was ample space to store our gear as well as hang up heavy, outdoor clothing. - a very large TV on the wall that was interactive and displayed a lot of useful hotel details including flight information, as well as a decent range of local and international TV channels. - plentiful and adjustable lighting, including flexible LED reading lights on both sides of the bed. - plenty of plug sockets, including several sockets next to the bed so it was no problem to charge mobile devices. In terms of downside points; - the executive lounge was rather underwhelming for two reasons; firstly, the space is too small for the number of guests on the fifth floor who use it, which meant that it felt crowded. There was no privacy to conversations and you found yourself forced to listen to the people on the tables either side or you, whether you wanted to or not. The layout is also too formal, as it looks like the tables & chairs are reconfigured for breakfast service and so it feels like you are sitting in a canteen and not a relaxing lounge. Secondly, the range of food & drinks was limited. We went in mid-evening and there was a choice of one only red wine and one white wine (although the bottles were replenished frequently when they emptied), some beers and spirits. The food was limited to 2-3 different crisps, some nuts and individually wrapped chocolates. There were no, say, sandwiches or hot snacks, despite there being a bain-marie on the side (which was not being used). Having spent the past several hours travelling, we were hoping to be able to use the lounge to get something a little more substantial, so the range of food on offer was disappointing. To make up for it, we indulged instead in the wonderful combination of red wine and Karl Fazer chocolates (none of your five a day but that's the whole point). As our flight was early, we didn't get the chance to sample breakfast although I think it is available in limited format from silly o'clock in the executive lounge and then fully from normal hours in the main restaurant. For a king room with executive lounge we paid 232EUR/200GBP for one night. Compared to the other hotels in & around the airport that is more expensive but this is a Hilton and overall the room was spacious, modern, well-equipped, warm and comfortable. I would stay here again without hesitation but would probably skip the additional cost of the lounge access, as it isn't worth it unless you're arriving early in the day and/or plan to drink your way through a lot of alcohol. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and incredibly silent. We have expected it to be loud (since it is so close to the airport) but we heard nothing. The bathroom has heated floor, it offers bath AND a shower. The rooms have a kettle, room service, very helpful staff and 24/7 desk. They offer free Wi-Fi. We would have liked it more if they offered breakfast earlier (we have missed it because of our early flight at 7.30AM) - but this was no issue for us. Highly recommended! Collapse
