This hotel is in a good location, right in the centre of Glasgow. The rooms were good - the one that I was in was very big and they were well equipped with bathrobes etc. The only real issue with the rooms was the lack of temperature control. There was a fan and a heater in the wardrobe which makes me think that there is no way of controlling the temperature in the room which is pretty unexpected in a hotel of this class. I found the room very cold so I plugged in the heater. It didn’t really make a dent in a room of that size but the bed was very warm so it was bearable. The next morning, the staff were offering free takeaway coffees and teas which was hugely thoughtful given the low temperatures outside. This made up for the slightly chilly room and was a really nice touch. Collapse

Overpriced and poor all around. Check in receptionist was good, the receptionist in the morning was hopeless and on her phone / email or whatever. Electronic Front doors make a screeching sound every time they open and close ...awful as it's every few minutes. Bedroom was scruffy. It was freezing outside yet they had not salted the back entry or steps to the hotel! Complementary coffee / tea in lobby ....wasn't working and answer was to go to the bar and pay for same! In the bar at night the bar person was on her phone on the corner on the RHS of the bar and ignoring the customers. Poor for a Hilton, unimpressed and I won't be returning. I rarely give 2 star ratings but this is poor. Collapse

The Grosvenor Hilton Glasgow is a good West End located hotel with staff that are always ready to help. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff here. Checked in an had some problems with the staff locating my Hilton Honor's Diamond Card number - hence I got no benefits. My points were credited after which was satisfactory but no drink vouchers or upgrade as a result of their computer deficiencies. Needs addressing by senior management otherwise guests may develop a poor corporate image of Hilton. First impressions are important. Good double glazing to keep the noise out but be careful of certain rooms which overlook the delivery lorry point of the adjacent supermarket as their reversing hooters at 3am don't make for the best music in Glasgow. Best rooms face the botanical gardens so feel free to request one - that circumvents the din aforementioned. You didn't pay £200 a night to listen to lorries hooting and tooting! Staff could not have been more helpful or efficient with regards to organising transport to and from Hampden Park for the Scottish League Cup Final. Excellent personalised service. The Hotel is within walking distance of my Alma Mater - so was convenient for attending an event there the evening before the football. I have been staying at this hotel for over 20 years - it's as good as ever but I hope management will look at their computer connection with the corporate masters. Hope to return soon again. Collapse

My first visit to a pre Xmas night at rhe Hilton Hotet meal/disco. My sister went last year with a friend and had enjoyed it so much, they suggested I joined them this year. Really good night, staff friendly and could’nt be more helpful. Free cloakroom. Staff met us at taxi, held doors open, inside they immediately took our coats, put on hangers and brought upstair to cloakroom. Offered wine while waiting. Meal lovely, hot and quickly served by by an abudance of staff. Im a very fussy eater, and they replaced my starter for tomato soup even tho the chef must have been very busy. I didnt want veg, that was replaced by extra potato’s. Fresh rolls and butter with starter. Lovely dessert, and tea or coffee. Disco was fabulous with great sounds and full wall size video which was appropriate to the music. Lovelymtoilets Ticket price not the cheapest, but as once a year, we don’t mind First time at Hilton Hotel for a pre Xmas dinner/disco with my sister and a friend. They went last year and suggested I join them this yr. staff member met us at the taxi, held the doors of taxi for us. Inside, staff too, took our coats to put in cloakroom which is free. Toilets lovely and clean. Im a fussy eater and staff repalced the starter with tomato soup and extra rolls and butter. A delicious Turkey meal, and as I dont like veg they replaced with extra popato’s.staff very busy and appreciated the ‘tweaking” of my meal. Thanks to the chef, I enjoyed my meal. Disco was of deluxe quality with wall size music videos as well as the music. We will return mext year. X Collapse
