I was told I would be able to check-in early when I called the hotel 2 days before my arrival. I was traveling with a 10 month old baby. Upon arrival, the front desk told me that they didn't have any rooms available, and that the person who told me that I could check in early, was new. There was no apology. I had to wait for 4 hours in the hotel lobby with my baby until the room was ready. I am a Hilton Honors member and wasn't impressed with the way that I was treated. There are so many hotels in NYC, I wouldn't choose this one again, or any Hilton property for that matter. Collapse

I would suggest a lower level room so that you can access stairs as the elevator can be slow. We took advantage of complementary coffee/jot chocolate in the morning, but the $17 breakfast was too much for the budget with so many better options nearby. Right off the subway, a few blocks from Penn Station, and within walking of Empire State Bldg., Times Square, lots of shopping, and even 30 Rock. Collapse
Another great visit to NY

Travelled with family, different ages and gender. Nice hotel located in an area called Chelsea, quite residential, the street was lined with floristry shops, like stepping out into a garden every morning. Found an old school diner on W25th, where the locals eat. Great breakfast there. Hotel about 20 minute walk from Times Square. Been about 5 years since we visited, still the same buzz around but found everything noticeably more expensive in the area. We done an open top bus tour, called 'The View'. It was ok, but our last visit we done the tour with another crowd. NY sightseeing tour, guides on board to talk about all areas on tour, none of that on 'The View', just ear plugs and very limited information, so a bit dissapointed with that as the younger people with us were visiting for the 1st time, we done our best to commentate for them!! I would recommend a tour that comes with a guide. Visited the ground zero museum, very moving. A poignant tribute to all who lost their lives, nothing glitzy or flash, just the rawness of that awful time. Great shopping down that end of town in Century 21. Fierce queues everywhere as it was mid term, lots of schoolkids on tours. Food options much the same as other times, very hit and miss. Would recommend Ruby Tuesdays, McDonalds too, purely because you know exactly what you are getting. Had nice pizza slices around town, lousy hot dogs from street vendors, hale and hearty for delicious soups and rolls, we didn't go hungry!! Big disappointment - canolies from Cake Boss cafe near Penn Station. We had planned to visit his shop in NJ, but due to a storm and flooding the day before, we decided to stay in Manhattan. Glad now we didn't go that far for a canolie!! Lobster tails were edible. Rudest taxi drivers I have ever come across, 3 experiences only as we walked as much as we could (it's the quickest way to get around the city), didn't meet 1 NY taxi driver, those we met had no manners and very limited English. Carriage ride in Central Park $150 dollars for 40 minutes, 15 of that was out on the road as some of the park closed off for the marathon that weekend. Not impressed with that experience at all. Definately not worth $150. Didn't get to any of the outlets on this trip so can't comment. Despite the few negatives, we had a fantastic time and look forward to our next visit Collapse

room quite small and dark -- crack in bathroom sink -- over priced for a Hilton of this caliber. We always stay at a Hilton and found this one to be below standard. The staff was friendly and helpful.
