Everything about this hotel is just OK. Charged for water we did not ask for and did not drink. Drinks are overpriced. Elevators and ice machines are located only on one end of the building. A long walk for those of us with rooms on the other end. Not much to do if the weather is not nice. A long walk or ride to do or see anything. Checked under beds before leaving to make sure we weren't leaving anything behind. Ran into a gang of dust bunnies who appeared to have taken up permanent residence. Collapse

This hotel is one of the worst I have ever stayed in. Upon checkin the lobby looks okay and even promising with the cafe that serves Starbucks coffee. I was so excited because it was my birthday weekend and we were there for a concert (12/1-12/3). We checked in early and the guy who helped us was very friendly. We were then told we were staying in the west villa which meant we had to exit the building and go to the right. As soon as you walk in you can tell it's run down. Poor lighting, markings on the walls from the cleaning carts, dirty floors, and just plain run down. I was disappointed, however we were there for just the weekend from VT so I wasn't going to spend too much time in our room so didn't mind. Our room was the same, but upon looking further it was much worse. My friend went to use the restroom and the toilet looked like it was dirty. She took toilet paper to wipe it down and it was just so damaged it looked like it had poop stains (okay so still just run down). I went to close our curtain because our view was the big bridge near the cruise ships and I saw what looked like blood stains in numerous spots on curtains (see pictures). That prompted to us to be concerned. We pulled back our sheets to see if there were signs of bed bugs. No bugs, but we found a pubic hair on the sheet on the fitted sheet. We pulled that back and found one of the fuzzy mattress covers completely covered with hair. I also noticed dust on all of the floor boards, light fixtures, corners, the wall by the air vent, and damage to the door from the closet door banging into it. There was also an unknown stain (possibly blood) on the chair. It seems minimal but there was even tape on the ceiling from what looked like balloons being hung. While small, if you overlook that what else do you look over? We called the front and asked for a different room and for someone to come and see what we had found. The head of housekeeping came and was very friendly and apologized. She said they would get us a different room, but they were full and had to wait until one was available. They took my name and # and said they would call but to go and have dinner and explore. At 6 2 hrs after checkin we hadn't heard anything and went to front desk. They said our next room was available in the East Villas. We were wondering why we didn't get called but we're just ready to get our new room. That end of the hotel was much nicer. Better lighting, paint job, and even upon our bed inspection had nicer cotton mattress cover. We were much happier until I went to pick up the room phone to call to find out where our bags were. There on the table where the coffee and sugars are stored there were a bunch of tiny bugs crawling around. I tried to call manager 2 times and kept getting voicemails. We went to the lobby and asked an employee to get the manager. After showing manager pics of first room and video of bugs (he tried to say sugar ants which they were not) he offered us a room in tower on 8th floor. If we weren't happy with that we could have our $ back and he gave us each a drink voucher for beer/wine/well drink. Because I didn't pay for the room I didn't think I could get reimbursed so we went with the tower room. I will say if we started in that room I wouldn't have been as upset and can see where the positive reviews come from. I still found a large amount of dust on walls and floor boards. We also had a silver fish big crawling around our shower Saturday morning and the smell of mold after a shower. In the long run we figured that wasn't bad considering what else we had experienced. Pros: friendly support staff, and cheap Uber rides to airport and beach Cons: see all above Collapse

When entering the lobby, the hotel is well lit and inviting; however, the lobby does not reflect the quality of the rooms. Our first issue was with the wait to get checked in. We arrived at 8pm, there was only one desk clerk, although there were several persons walking back and forth behind the counter. They saw the line and did nothing. It wasn't until a couple behind us complained that someone eventually came out--which was one of the people who was walking back and forth at first. Our next issue was the young lady told us that she needed to swipe a card for the $75 for incidentals, even though the corporate credit card was on file for that. She took our debit cards and immediately we saw a charge for $300. We asked her did she make a mistake and place all four guests on the same card. She said no and POINTED to a sign that said $75 PER DAY. We asked her why she didn't inform us of that at first instead of just saying $75, she again POINTED to a sign, dismissing our questions. After that encounter we went to our rooms in the East Plaza. My room was 3201. Immediately upon entering I noticed a damp musty smell. I walked into the bathroom and there was a dead bug on the floor, the tub looked as if it had not been cleaned for days, there was standing dust EVERYWHERE, holes in my pillow case, soiled chair, cob webs hanging from the ceiling, and the most disgusting and dirty corner baseboard by the bed. I turned on all of the lights and it still looked as if no lights were on because it was so dim. I immediately called the front desk and asked for housekeeping and for light bulbs and a manager to come to our rooms. No one came except Lance the maintenance worker to bring light bulbs. He was extremely pleasant and apologetic and even offered drink vouchers for the trouble we were going through. He said he would follow up with the front desk to notify a manager and housekeeping for us. We waited for about 30 minutes but decided to leave and go to dinner. We stopped at the front desk and again asked to speak to a manager. The same front desk clerk who checked us in said he was on a conference call and for us to leave our cell phone numbers and room numbers and he would contact us. We arrived back from dinner around 11 pm. No call from the manager and our room was not attended to. We had to be at a conference at 8 am and had no choice but to stay the night. We logged a complaint with the 800 number for Hilton because we truly felt ignored. The following morning we went again to speak with a manager and was told again to leave our numbers. I showed the front desk clerk my pictures and he said he would definitely notify the housekeeping manager Kelly who would be there at 9 am. Kelly called us while at the conference, I explained what happened and she assured me that our rooms would be cleaned thoroughly. We arrived back in our rooms around 4:20 and noticed that the linens had been changed, some air freshener sprayed, tub spot cleaned but all other issues had been ignored. Truly unacceptable. I then took additional pictures of the same issues from before, this time showing the date. We met with the housekeeping manager and showed her the pictures. She apologized again offered to change our rooms to one in the Tower and give us a breakfast voucher. The manager Huessien never met with us but sent an email earlier that morning stating he had resolved our issue. NO SIR YOU DID NOT. Kelley later offered points to be added because once again, no hotel manager faced us. Needless to say this was the worst Hilton I've ever stayed in and the quality of the second room still was not the caliber that the Hilton brand is used to providing. The second room didn't even provide comforters. Our rate was discounted at the conference rate of $159 a night which is still too much for that awfulness. It is definitely worth that or the regular rate found on the website. Will I stay there again, NEVER. Collapse
