We always stay the night before our cruise in Fort Lauderdale Beach. This time we decided to stay at the Hilton Marina across from Port Everglades. This is the best stay we’ve ever had down here. From the time we arrived everyone couldn’t be nicer. It was a Sunday and with 7 ships in port and it was hopping. Ryan and Nadine(manager)at check in were so friendly and started our stay on a very high note. Ryan said he would text us when our room was ready so we went out by the pool and had a drink. It was beautiful and a great way to wait for the room. Before we knew it our room was ready. Wow!!!! We had a Tower room looking at the cruise port and all the ships. A very nice, clean room with an a glass wall leading to the balcony. It doesn’t get any better than this. We are at the hotel now and I’m watching our ship pull in from our balcony. We would definitely recommend this hotel (tower room) to any and everyone. We will be back next year and can’t wait! Great job Hilton Marina!!! Collapse

This continued for hours without the hotel adding staff to help the lone bartender/cashier. The two casual dining options used the same menus. Collapse

Friends of mine (husband and wife) were coming back from a cruise and spending the night at this hotel before flying back home the next day. The husband is a 98 year-old handicapped gentleman who requires assistance. At check in they were told the room was not ready but guaranteed for a 4pm. Shortly after 4pm the wife checked again with the front desk manager only to be told the room was being cleaned and would be ready by 6pm. At 6:15pm (after inquiring yet again with the front desk manager they were given another excuse. About 6:30pm they were handed the room key and when his wife walked into the room it was still being cleaned. To make a long story short this 89 year-old gentleman waited on a room for almost 9 hours. The front desk managers (2 of them) were unhelpful and uncaring. This hotel is more like a meat factory, people in and out back and forth from cruises. No customer courtesy or professionalism. BTW, I am the friend who picked them up from the cruise ship and drove them back to this hotel. I am also staying at the same hotel and witnessed this fiasco while assisting them. I am also a HH member. Collapse

We had a great room on the second floor facing east. Watching the very nice yachts and boats in an out of the marina was relaxing. We also walked under the bridge to the nice area where the water taxis picked up and dropped off passengers. We could also see the cruise boats come and go. You are in walking distance to lots of restaurants and some shopping. We chose to eat at the poolside bar where the food was very good and so were the drinks. Our room was very nice and clean with a big glass door opening onto a balcony with chairs and small table. This hotel is across the street from the convention center and freeway. Would suggest rooms on the wings or the backside of the main building. The freeway rises to accommodate the bridge opening for the tall masts. Collapse
Worst room I've ever stayed in!

I don't take these reviews lightly and I try to find the good in everything. And I feel bad that I did not express our displeasure and opinions to the front desk while we were there, but we arrived late and it seemed packed (why, I don't know). I didn't select this hotel, it was recommended by our travel agent (who has always provided good insights and I still trust), but this was a BUST! We arrived early for check-in and they said no rooms in our category were ready, so we checked our luggage with the bellhop and went off on a previously planned excursion. We got back to the hotel after dark and got our key for room 3128. This is where the fun starts, no offer of help from the staff with the luggage (no biggie) and then proceeded to the room by the directions provided by the staff (we later found a easier route). If you remember the 60's TV show Get Smart, at the beginning of each episode Maxwell walks thru an endless series of doors to get to his destination. This was us, having to walk thru a whole bunch of non-automated doors, wrestling with each door with our luggage (tired laughter at this point). This is where we started to notice how this place needed A LOT of tender loving care, the carpet in the hallways was this awful, stained indoor/outdoor ugly expanse (that smelled awful in one of the many hallways) peeling away from the walls and that we later discovered much to our chagrin was in the rooms also. Then we entered 3128 (we booked a Intercoastal Waterway view, this room had a view of a restaurant and gas pumps with the Waterway way to the right) and did a bedbug check of the mattresses before setting our luggage on any soft surface (all good) and then started to notice the condition of the room. Peeling paint and paint that had peeled in the past was painted over without being scraped and that god awful aged carpet. Later on when we tried to close the drapes, they were too narrow to bridge the whole gap! (later while writing this review, I Googled the room number and found a 03/21/15 TripAdvisor review from a Blaine C. that complained of the same thing! The hotel responded and said they would fix the drapes, 2 years and 9 months later still not fixed). Next the bathroom: rusted light fixtures, bath fixtures with a strange patina, metal door jambs that has rust ready to burst thru the paint, grout that needs some good old-fashion elbow grease, and the worst part was the tub that had dark stains in it from what appeared to be the glue remains from old anti-slip stickers (it looked so bad that we put a towel down in the tub to shower on). Two positive items: a coffee maker that is not one of those one cup things, but an actual 4 cup coffee maker and the proximity to the cruise port, could walk there if you felt like it. Being Hilton Honors members we try and stay in the Hilton family of hotel chains, but this visit has me really thinking about their quality control, at least we'll never stay here again. Collapse
