I booked here because not much else was available for a business trip, it was not cheap, I got an "accessible" room on the ground floor (I'm not disabled) that was a bit tatty. I went for a shower the drain was blocked in the wet room so water spilled out into the corridor. They did their best to mop it up but still left me a soggy hallway - no offer of an alternative room, and the killer: You have to pay for WIFI in a £200 a night hotel. Oh and the pool and spa were out of bounds... Collapse

Just worked out I have not visited the Hilton in Walsgrave for 18 years at which point it was newly built so I was hard to guess how it would stand the test of time. Pretty well is the answer. It's much nicer than you might expect for a midlands motorway stop over so a good choice. The receptionists were both charming (even though still on duty in the morning). Room was very well presented and bed comfortable - although TV remote broken an in room film failed before the end. Pool and gym is small but excellent and a real reason to stay. Breakfast was adequate. Charged £5 to park overnight. Collapse

Stayed at the Hilton Coventry on Friday 14 October following a day at Harry Potter Studios in Watford. We decided on this hotel due to its location and being halfway on the journey back up north and it was reasonably priced. On arrival we were checked in to a room on the third floor, however, when we went up and went inside it appeared that it was already occupied. We went back to reception, where the receptionist apologised and took a few minutes to then allocate us another room. This was on the second floor and the corridor was undergoing a refurb. There was also a bottle of wine and glasses outside the room on the corridor, which remained there hours later. The room itself and bathroom are very dated, and there was constant noise from vents/heating systems etc. When I awoke on Saturday morning I couldn’t get back to sleep due to the constant noise. Parking at £5 per car seems unnecessary, it’s on an industrial estate giving you have no choice other than to park and pay, however the parking charge wasn’t mentioned upon check in – just put on our check out form slipped under the door during the night. Oh and wifi was 12.99 for a day - extortionate! I had no signal let alone 3G (with Three) during my entire stay so was completely unconnected and unreachable which wouldn't be great in an emergency. Good points were the bed was a king size and very comfortable. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this hotel to others, certainly not until the full refurb is finished. Collapse

This is more of a business hotel. It is very nicely furnished , with a modern reception area . Check in was rather functional and I didn't particularly feel like an 'important customer '... which is the standard Hilton usually achieve . Not as warm and friendly as most I've visited . The rooms are very good , and I had one of the refurbished rooms downstairs, which was excellent . Breakfast was good , and staff interacted well . Collapse

We booked in for one night's stay which included breakfast after a family party in the town centre. We had a lovely room with a huge kingside bed and lovely end suite. Lots of parking and booking in was quick and easy . Staff were very polite and explained what was available and gave clear instructions on how to reach our room and also the log in information for the free Wi Fi. The room and en suite were emmaculate and the tea, coffee, wine etc was a lovely added touch. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept well. I liked the adjustable thermostat so we could regulate the temperature. More than enough sockets for charging our phones which was lovely. Breakfast the next morning was just wonderful. A huge selection of hot and cold food and drinks and fresh fruit and you weren't rushed which meant a lovely leisurely morning meal. Children and babies welcomed and catered for accordingly. Suitable for private functiond as well which is another bonus. The £5 parking fee was not expected but we didn't mind paying at all . We will definitely be staying again but for more than one night as I'd like to make use of the Gym and Spa which are on sight. Definitely worth a visit if you need somewhere to stay in the area.
